he throwing over hand. hes prob a good hitter and plays outfield also, a 1st base rarely throws so it effect like at best 1% of innings and even then whose to say it doesnt work. not worth it if your also gonna be playing outfield, and arent dead set on infield.
out fielder's usually throw directly over hand, cause slight left or right means totally missing the catcher from center field, being little high or low doesn't matter. All though Ichiro dam near threw side arm, but he probably could throw better then any infielder of his time, Jeter, etc. Just didn't have the ground ball handling skills like other short stops. Or wasn't tall enough to Jump. Short stop kind of like soccer goally, tall lanky person has distinctive advantage at stopping the ball.

I was once told by a wise man that if you want to play great, just have fun and don't think about it..you work out and give it your best in practice and when you play the game, just play to have fun..Losses come with the territory and are more important than winning since I had something to learn from..hope these young gents keep putting in their due diligence

I played for teams like this, not PG but teams filled with all Americans and the back hands and taking time to throw the balls are all part of the different drills the coaches or implementing

No prettier sight in all of professional sports than a well executed double play. Played 3 sports the whole time I grew up - and watched guys who excelled in football and wrestling struggle in baseball - and vice versa. Baseball requires different coordination and skill, and these guys make it look easy.
They are making it look fairly smooth. May be that everyone of them are real good. Also they are clearly going 70% on throws to save arms for game days.
11 has wheels...at this age the true gifts are below the waste, the feet, the quickness, the rhythm...everything else is a dime a dozen. Hard job for the scouts.
I used to play third base most of the time in HS. I would have much rather played short stop but some other kid was more fancy like an Ozzy Smith. The throw from third to first is insanely difficult at times cause so far away. I made some impressive defensive grabs but on the throw to first I'd either throw it over the first baseman's head or it would go wide lol. I'm old now and get to play short stop on an old men's baseball league team so I get to re-live my dream which is cool
Many of them have excellent glove work. Maybe it was the angle but it appears that they all throw balls that tail. Quick releases for sure but at the expense of nice tight rotation to target. I’ll watch again.

They do it to make the ump have a quick decision on what the call is, if you keep your foot on first then it gives more time for the correct call
