3 YEARS?!?!?! How are we injury victims suppose to survive?!?! Bills pile up, we fall behind, we can’t catch up, we are trying to still follow medical Drs procedures and appts which also cost! It’s like ridiculous!

I have a question after you Serve the insurance company with papers.Verify that you’re going to take them too court I’ve heard that they have 20 days to respond back to that letter.Usually I think your lawyer will send the insurance company certified letter to be served

Yes that’s correct. The process server will deliver the complaint to the defendant. Usually their insurance company will hire a defense law firm who then answers the complaint in writing

My incident happened in 2021 and now it's 2023.. my attorney said she's taking the defendant deposition on the 8 on August but now says she's not til October. Why is that ? And said defense like to settle case at mediation ? I'm confused . We have not even gone into discovery

Probably was adjourned. Could be for any number of reasons. After depositions the case is more likely to settle because more information is known to all sides

After the juror makes a verdict can the defense appeal that verdict? Possible that a judge may deny that verdict. Does this happen in personal injury case trial?

Either side can appeal. A judge cannot deny a verdict but a judge can set aside a jury verdict as against the weight of the credible evidence. This usually happens after someone files a motion to set aside the verdict

Do you know when the NYC Courts are opening for trial?

They are slowly opening. We did a trial end of March but it was summary jury which is a one day trial. This summer some full trials should proceed and in the Fall hopefully more :)

Yes we do write letters to settle cases. If you mean the injury victim can write their own letter absolutely but only if the case is very small bc insurance companies will not play fair
