I m not great fan of Gandhi but I disagree with Mr Baalwala’s arguments. One thing I have noticed, most of Pakistani intellects have similar views on Gandhi that he brought religion in Politics. This is totally wrong. They cite his usage of some Sanskrit words like Ahimsa, satyagrah in routine political discourse as reason for their arguments. I bet these people don’t know meaning of these words…..btw, Ahimsa means Non Violence, Satyagriha meaning insistence of Truth

Very Speculative and Accusatory ! What you are telling is not history but speculations and your personal views. Let me give you some facts:
    1. Gandhi ji was against caste system to his core. He himself was an outcaste. A meeting was held by people of his own caste where he was declared an outcaste when he was going to England for studies.
    2. Gandhi ji was against the Communal Electorate as well as Caste based Electorate because both helped the policy of divide and rule. Instead of separate electorate Gandhi ji offered to increase the representation of Depressed Class. The Communal Award of McDonald reserved only 71 seats for Depressed Class but Gandhi ji agreed to reserve 148 seats for Depressed Class and Consequently Poona Pact was signed by 23 (odd) people including Gandhi ji, Hindu Mahasabha represented by Sh. Madan Mohan Malviya and Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Therefore, you saying "Gandhi ji was afraid of Dalit representation" is completely unfounded.
    3. Revolutionary Movement: Although People from every walk of Life supported and gave their heart to the Revolutionaries, it was not a mass movement as you suggest. The techniques used by revolutionaries required Heroic actions as were done by Bhagat Singh and many others in which not every common man could partake. Also Revolutionaries acted in Secrecy which led them to form small groups so that information were not leaked out.
    4. On the other hand techniques used by Gandhi ji such as Dharna, Boycott of British Goods, schools and colleges, use of Swadeshi and Civil Disobedience were easy to take up by the common masses. Also, people from every walk of life took part in these techniques including Women and Children.
    5. Please read the Policy of Struggle Truce Struggle, you will understand the philosophy behind the movements like NCM-Khilafat, Civil Disobedience Movement and especially the Quit India Movement.
    6. Gandhi ji not only once but many times deliberated with Viceroy regarding Bhagat Singh's case. www.mkgandhi.org/articles/bhagat_singh.php#:~:text=A%20false%20impression%20has%20been,make%20their%20release%20a%20condition.%22
Please read this link, there are facts with references which you can actually corroborate.
    7. You are giving your personal views about Gandhi ji and not talking about Gandhi ji's views. You have made him a monster in your mind and therefore interpreting his actions, accordingly. You have not quoted a Single Independent Historian from India because what you are saying is views and not facts or History.
In one of your earlier Vlogs you have criticized Separate Electorate of 1909 and here you are accusing Gandhi ji for criticizing the same in 1932, which is not a fair evaluation.
I am not for or against anyone, but fair evaluation of History is very important despite the bitterness of the truth and facts for History must be told in facts, rest are just opinions.!

Being accusatory and speculative is not a crime. He has given lots of facts. Even if I don’t agree with a lot of what was said but i do agree with a lot of what he is saying. Gandhi was a hypocrite and a bigot. On top of that he was an arrogant person to the core. He did have a skill to unite people and that really came in handy but a lot of other people had that before him like tilak, lala lajpat rai etc. thank god india did not and does not follow his vision.

I am from India and I like this discussion a lot. I being an indian never believed that India got independence because of Gandhi or Jinnah. I hope your team should have highlighted the fact that the British were forced to leave india due to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj who had soldiers of all religions. This lead to constant mutiny in british army and navy. Pls give him the due credit as it's been confirmed by the then British Prime minister Atlee. The British were unable to control that and feared a mutiny like 1857. Hence, the subcontinent got independence. India did not get independence by non violence but by the blood of Azad hind fauj who lost half of their strength fighting British and fellow indians soldiers who were loyal to british. The slogan JAI HIND is from Azad Hind Fauj.

Brother I am sorry to say but this time I am disappointed by Baalwala. He does not even know what was Rowlett Act? If people will not protest or participate in any laws that are made for them, then do not expect them to believe in democratic system. As a human, it is our tendency to even try. Atleast he voiced for Khalifa of the late Ottoman Empire. At one point he believes that all of his marches, protests and demonstration were of no use. It's just like not preparing for any upcoming exam because i may fail but something is better than nothing. Atleast you will try, the result will be good or bad is not in our hands. It creates a sense of hardwork and experience, this is what Gandhi did. Had he not done this kind of protests and marches against britishers, they would have treated just like what they used to do with us before 1857. Atleast he made people realise the idea of unity, democracy and true reality of the laws that were made for them. Experience may not help instantaneously but proves to be boon at some point of time. This is why democracy in India survived and not in Pakistan for a long time. Otherwise he's a good speaker and historian. He really explains some topics in detail.

Gandhi was option less. A country where Hindus and Muslims stayed together for centuries could be polarised by English just by stoking the fire of ideology.Fail to understand, if we were to listen to our gurus be it Nanak or Ramakrishna, they all preached common leanings . That being so if we were polarised so easily we must have been prey to hypocrate. thoughts. Gandhi Nehru Jinnah understood this that's the reason they wanted carve outs . Though Gandhi Nehru gave a lip service to Akhand Bharat slogan. The predicament is absence of political leadership who could rise above sectrenism

Revolution sounds great however practical applications like in french revolution, Bolshevik revolution, slave revolts of the Caribbean and americas and spanish civil war had already proven that violent overthrow of existing power structure seldom results in peace but instead leads to even worse violence and authoritarianism. As soon as the oppressor is overthrown, the revolutionaries invariably start fighting each other. Revolutionaries often do not think beyond the overthrow of existing power and don't have unified idea on the structure of the state resulting in total catastrophe. One of the very few successful revolutions was the American war of independence which had the circumstances for establishing a democratic constitution. IMO, given this history, Gandhi and Congress favored a slow steady march towards independence in cooperation with the British rather than a quick revolution with likely worse outcome. Jinnah too favored the same approach. In fact he was even averse to the tame mass movements of Gandhi and preferred resolving political issues with constitutionalism, legal approach and legislative council however impotent they were. In any case, these people trained in British institutions and raised to admire the British way of life could hardly be expected to be revolutionaries. Hence singling out Gandhi for being too cozy with the British is not right. There were a few exceptions like Bose. Bhagat Singh and his colleagues did not go through British institutions and hence were not similarly corrupted.

Party ka naam muslim league lekin fir bhi party non religious hai 😂।
Gandhi ji ka non voilance bilkul sahi tha kyonki pure bharat me aur tab ke bharat me bhi bahut sari diversity hain aur india me agar gandhi ji bhi voilant hote to azadi ke baad desh me yahi msg jata ki voilance karo aur apna desh le lo.
Gandhi ji bhi insan the perfect to vo bhi nahin rahe honge। Lekin unki mass appeal ko ignore nahin kar sakte ho aur log aaps me lad rahe hote aur civil war chal raha hota abhi tak aur ham Africa ki tarah chhote chhote desh hote.

Your guest is wrong about the concept of reincarnation. Reincarnation has nothing to do with "caste". Rebirth cycles depend on the karma of the Soul in the cycles of birth. As knowledge increases and the burden of karma decreases, the cycles of birth decrease and finally end and the Soul attains Moksha or liberation, to translate loosely. Sikhi was not a different "religion" from Sanatan Dharma. It was a Panth or sect like so many other panth or sects in Sanatan Dharma. The British wanted to drive a wedge between the community and did everything to create this falsehood which has grown due to political reasons. Maharaja Ranjit Singh died with the Bhagwad Gita in his hands. It's false propaganda that they are different.

Gandhi’s agenda was a Hindu agenda. Muslims have a Muslim agenda. These were two different and opposing agendas. Gandhi did what he thought was right; Iqbal, Jinnah and Muslim league did what they thought was right. These were honorable men but human, with all human strengths and weaknesses. They deserve our respect.
Two nations, actually now three, are a reality. We should learn to tolerate each other and live in amicable manner. I believe most people of subcontinent like to live in peace without warfare. I hope and pray we achieve peace and cooperation with open borders and free trade. I am Muslim and I have no hatred for Hindus, only kind regards. However, RSS is on a communal warpath and it’s up to rest of Hindus to deal with this issue.

If you want to learn about Gandhi, first intoxicate your minds. Pakistani minds are still suffering from two nation theory, a lunatic idea that religious communities cannot stay together. Invite Ram Guha, read his books first, and learn about Gandhi from him. Gandhi is a synonym of non-violence and peace. Pakistani deserve to know about him.
