We'll never forget the Knight art, or any art from this fantastic game. This game really was my childhood, and come to think of it I have met many people who have shared my love for this franchise, in particular it would seem Heroes III. Still, Heroes II remains my favorite. I am from Sweden by the way.

You know a town theme is done right when it breaks out the organ alongside a professional opera singer. Even if I hated playing as Knight, the town theme, like all of them in the game, was a real blast to listen to.
I actually had a copy with the intended layout, where some of the music actually fit even better. What is in the common version the Barbarian theme, in my version was used for the Necromancer town, which actually fit much better in my opinion. I do agree that this song here fits the knight best, in my version the knight and wizard were mixed up. If you ask me, the best distribution would be (according to the songs in the game version where this video fits): Knight town - Knight theme Sorceress town - Sorceress theme Wizard town - Warlock theme Warlock town - Necromancer theme Necromancer town - Barbarian theme Barbarian town - Wizard theme Unfortunately no game exists with this assignment.

I love how HOMM 2 crusaders looks like, much better than in HOMM3. And they didnt need stronger than dragon ending unit. Because this castle was about rush. In Good vs Evil XXL map Knight could with best possible movment get crusaders in week#1, get all pop on monday week#2 and go and rush barbarian/necro/warlock (or other if it was FFA). And nobody could stop such overpowered rush
Couldn't really agree with this, I think the balance among each alternative forces should be one of the most compulsive terms to be achieved and maintained by the game developers.
This army is ment for bunkering. If u dont bunker it ur not doin it right. Put Champions on left most spot in army stack (the first spot), and put swordsmen on 3rd spot, archers on 4th, pikeman on 5th. U can put anything u like on 2nd spot.U can even play with some stack splitting there. Put formation to tight and at start of attack on first turn drive champions(who play first) down in front of ur archers and voila! u got a freekin bunker. Nothing can touch or inflict dmg on archers while they kill everything, and anything that touches melee guys that cover archers is gonna play right into Knights strong side, which is defense. If comp attacks you and u end up on other side of battleground,defending then have archers on 3rd position instead since figures are placed different on defense. Only exception to not-bunker would be facing dragons or going against enemy ranged stacks that play faster than archers. But for this i usually drag second hero right after first one to act as squire and baggage train. If i need to fight some archery troops, i just trade archers to 2nd hero, kill enemy ranged troops with my infantry then put back archers in after the fight into main hero again so no archers get killed.

elves get targeted by ai all the time because thy are archers, same with druids so you always run short of both, phoenix are good, but they are way more powerful in homm1 simply because there are less comparable lvl 6 creatures. in homm2 you've got 3 that are considerably stronger, and they simply don't produce fast enough to compete. 2 red dragons or black dragons..or two titans or even two bone dragons a week are fine but 2 phoenix...eh.
That game man, i was literally 10 years old when i played this. I played this until 11 or 12. I lost so god damn often. Loved that buzzard haha! And the Paladins!
I love this castle. Its an underdog for sure but that is exactly the point. U take something thats consider weak and u put beating on something thats supposed to be strong, or unbeatable. Prove your tactical ability, strangle the wizard and warlock essential mines, dont let them breathe. Split up, bunker up and wear them down. It feels great :)
Look at this Hero portrait. I can't say nowadays game companies have GUTS to make their game like this ugly but at the same time, charming. Bunch of weeb favoured or politically correct looking and thats all.
knight is still a personal favourite. the city is beautiful, the units are amazing. they are only good on small maps, though. if a wizard or warlock is allowed the time and resources to build up their economy, the knight loses. of course it all depends on the map. it's a strategy game, one town is not 'better' than any other.

In succession war if you don't write bugs and enter codes, you can try to collect a big army and attack them, if they don,t join you, reload in some cases they can join you. There are the following cheat codes in the game: 8675309 - fully opens the map 32167 - gives the current hero 5 black dragons, if they have a slot 911 - immediate win 1313 - immediate loss You can just type codes from the keyboard, and they also work in multiplayer. However, since version 1.3, the opponents of the cheater get a warning. The word Cheater will appear and in the table High Scores next to the player name. In addition there is a special Debug mode in the game , which you can implement additional cheat tricks, such as: the endless move of the hero, endless amount of resources to add to the army, any monsters in any quantity and so on... The old Heroes 2 had the expansion soundtrack? Anyway, I had Heroes II Gold and I had different townthemes. I know there are two versions for every town but you can never choose anything :/
These are the Succession Wars town themes which are the original ones. And in my opinion the original is "the right one". As for which are better is propably just the question of what you are used to hearing when playing the game. If they hadn't changed the soundtrack for Gold for some stupid reason, this wouldn't be an issue and everyone would be happy. It just irritates me because I can't find the original game with the original music anywhere :(

IV was still good, it had its own identity, V just became generic and forgettable.

In HoMM 3 they tried to make all castles equal...well..kinda...there are not too big differences there unlike in here.

i mostly used knights but nothing sucks more then watching a few black dragons casually hit your paladins and knock out like 50 at once.
same happens with sorcerer xD, op at early game but on late black dragons fuck all the fenixes, druids and elfs

Dam, this is so good. Never knew Heroes II had such music, only played it several times before III.
It was the CD music. You had to have the CD version, and have the Disk in the drive while playing to hear it.

Not exactly. They have good HP and defense. It is useful to rush and conquer other civ to mix them with other units. Weak against: magic.

All of these townthemes are wrong. In my game (Heroes II Gold) there were other themes and they are much better.
