I've never played Heroes 2, and I probably never plan to. Still, the music is so calming and soothing, it makes every bad thing fade away and fills my soul with reminiscence of a past that never was. Sounds of ocean, sound of childhood, sounds of dreams, of something heavenly yet so earthly. Man, this is amazing. Thanks to the uploader for making the 30-min version, and of course big thanks to maestro Paul Romero for giving this and other masterpieces life.
Please try the Free Heroes 2 reinvention/clone of Heroes 2, it uses the same graphics, midi music and maps as the original game, but features translations and a few bug fixes i think. Also contains a new campaign, T-800.
Takes me right back to 1996 before any social media or pornography. Too bad these times flew by so fast. It was much simpler back then and I wish I could go back. Quite possibly one of the best tunes in the game. Good times!
After 3 you mean? Or maybe even 4. 2nd game sure has a better soundtrack than 3 (that also was good) and much cooler sounds ( Especially the mummies! ) that i can agree on. I only played up to Homm 5 and i liked that one even as a "fresh new sequel". I would say after 5 the graphics become way too shiny, hard to distinguish, and i think a few characters got some sort of japanese anime look to them, something put me off from trying them anyway. 2-4, sometimes 5 is what i come back to.
Most consider HoMM3 to be the best. I think 4 is personally but 3 and 4 are pretty interchangeable and 2 was good. Only thing with both 3 and 4 that I could complain about was some of the towns. The "good guy" races were done better in 4 with the mage having the dwarves and hobbits while the "bad guy" races were done better in 3 with a specific greenskin themed town, undead theme, underground/choas theme, and demon themed. The combined undead/demon theme in 4 and the mix up of the greenskins didn't work. I like how your heroes fought in 4 as well although they could get way OP in campaigns were all you really needed would be heroes.
You meant after 5? (Don't even play 5 without all expansions) 3 and 5 are the best by far. 2 sucks hard because of very poor balance at classes and some OP monsters like Ghosts and Black Dragons. Also, every flying creature can cross the entire battlefield on a single move and ranged become useless if someone is on contact (no melee penalty required). 4 sucks because it's a stupid 'american' style where a single hero can kick out the entire enemy troop regardless of the tier and get unharmed, plus his own troops can hinder him while he keeps reviving with immortality potions. It's absurd.

One of the best songs from an amazing game. I miss the old Heroes of Might and Magic games, the setting, music and atmosphere were amazing.

Me neither, but tried the succession wars mod over GOG version Homm3, it is awesome. Agree with the rest of your comment, feeling the same.
