Larry has always been a huge inspiration because of is OTHERWORLDLY ingenuity and his UNPARALLELED body control !! I learned a lot about body control and isolation with Larry's Godlike control! He is a phenomenon dancer and artist who does more than dance, but art at its finest! The way every fiber of his being embodies the music and HIT every melodic elements (every beats and lyrics, even the most subtle bass) has always blew my mind! And I love how his style continues to evolve over the years into that UNMATCHED control he has now with this GODLY animated style! As a passionate of dance , it's always awesome to watch such Gifted Genuis dancer !
I was at the BTM exchange last year where Larry was on another level so ingenuis! And he was also phenomenal at the fusion concept and it was really impressive to watch it live. I hope they will participate in fusion concept again this year. But as they said at Btm this year, he is nursing an injury. So I hope he is doing very well now. I was wondering why this video was only 1 round, 1 min short comparing to the orher battles until i read that it was just a call battle lol.

I was there and this was a call out battle with no winner. So Larry wasn't even trying and didn't have to go hard, he was definitely chilling. This was a nice battle and well done to all the awesome dancers there.

KRUMP MAN HERE:
No Script was good, he controlled the crowd which isnt a Krump crowd, BUT his Krump combos had more jabs than IP MAN, and his concepts were sloppy. His musicality ended up being too wreckless and he left the music without much time to breathe, it reminded me of the battle Rubix had with Les Twins where Rubix played off the crowds hype but wouldn't slow down and keep rhythm
Larry was very intricate and never worked off the crowd, its a battle for war, not an exhibition for showcasing styles and Larry went to war. His musicality was executed perfectly, he gave the beat time to breathe, he kept a good flow and wasn't reckless at all. His concepts weren't perfect but they made sense for his combos.
Additional info for Non-Krump fans:
Every Krumper has a certain style that separates them from other Krumpers, but this style at times might replicate their teacher or the leader of their Krump Family. No Script lacked good concepts in this battle and his combos didn't have much variety.
Based on one being better at executing combos, having musicality, and keeping a good flow, Larry takes the WIN!
But show some love to BOTH DANCERS!
Hip hop man here:
The issue with Larry's round and musicality was there was a lot of dead space. There wasn't flow or continuity, especially from a hip hop perspective. 1:51 was an empty move, he missed the timing on it, and the recovery was a little poor(my guess is the friction on the turn caught him off guard)
1:52 - 1:58 had no continuity, but the moves at 2:01 and 2:03 were nice beat kills.
The issue is in those dead space the movement is clean and sharp, but not staying in rhythm, they just hit specific noises. If I turned off the sound I couldn't tell you what type of beat Larry was listening to except that had a lot of bass or reverb based on his blowups.
In contrast, at least from a hip hop perspective, Noscript _started_ his whole round with the rhythm, and he ends his bounce on even counts for the first 30 seconds of his round. When he starts getting into his jabs and blowups, he's on the 4s and 8s. He still maintains the rhythm of being on the claps because everytime he turns or stops, its on the 4s and 8s, even if the movement in between is wild. The jabs in between were all on hi-hats or the bass, but he would still come back to the 4s and 8s right on cue
The other thing, from a hip hop perspective, his how he controlled the angles in the crowd. Larry, did a decent job as well, but sometimes i felt like his angles were too horizontal. You can take up space by using the direction of your eyes, or your physical momentum. Noscript literally danced and took up the entirety of the stage. He also directly targeted larry in his movement, and was more in attack mode
Like you said its a war, and Larry's best moments were all directed at the crowd, but he never tried to pull the crowd on his side for the war and he never tried to attack his opponent directly

@@iudexCervello Wrong. Larry isn’t a traditional “HipHop” dancer and the Twins use a lot of subtle, smaller moves to hit beats that aren’t captured well on camera from 10-20 feet or more away. Any who’s seen them in person can vouch for this fact.
@@iZombi he misses the timing on the kick though, because he doesn't stop or integrate a speed change. He hit it but doesn't hit it with clarity, which is why i say he misses the timing instead of being offbeat, and the recovery literally misses all the beats in that space
The dead space is a reference to how empty the moves are. Sure there are ticks and waves, but they lack continuity with his core movement so they don't actually build up to anything. This is because he resets between a lot of movement, which means people(hip hop dancers especially) don't feel connected because the movement feels like a lot of empty or dead space between blowups
Just because he's on the hi hats from time to time doesn't mean he's keeping a rhythm, which is something different. Larry was hitting sounds but he wasn't staying on any particular pattern for more than an 8 count, which is why it was lacking in rhythm even though everything is "on-beat". In contrast, noscript never establishes a pattern in his movement but always managed to stay on the 4s and 8s, which is why he's still in rhythm despite not being as controlled with his movement.
@@krisjones4051 im not missing the beats they're capturing, and this isn't an issue with both twins in the first place, its really something unique to Larry, so its not a matter of "you can't see what the twins are doing", Lau doesn't have this issue. Larry uniquely captures sounds in depth, but he does it at the cost of maintaining rhythm and continuity
This is also in concept as well, he does a lot of hard resets and doesn't transition into all off movement
If funny the number of Larry's haters i recognized in this comments section and they always hypocritically starts their comments with ''I'm a fan of Larry but'', or ''Larry is my fav dancer but''... Sure, sure!

Watch Les Twins for 10+ years and never was prepossessed to compare them, but Laurent is way more forward right now.
It's been the same moves from Larry for last year or two. Someone will say "because they are famous. of course we see them often. Every dancer repeat his moves" and I'm agree. I don't like this argument to much too, but take a look at Laurent at BTM. Creative as f**k. And Larry... I don't know.
Thank you for this comment i agree with you 100% laurant is just something else man his level of vocabulary when it comes to dance is so fluid and not restrictive to certain movement he flows freely doing any moves he wants, and yes he does also repeats moves but not like larry, larry constantly using the same moves over over again with minimal different moves, lau uses the same moves but doesnt repeat the same concept he expands the concept to another move then to a new move and new move even if he repeats the same move i see him constantly evolving the move or the flow of movement to something never seen which is why in my opinion right now as of 2023 laurant is the best dancer no cap, the fludity in his movement and the ability to perform level changes from either standing up or on the floor or both together is unmatched his btm battles showed me that lau level is beyond the moves foreallll

Good example of diverse Larry was on battle bad 2021 vs Alex for example or time to time on workshops where he don't force himself to impress the crowd and look very comfortable and chill. These freestyles went dope, but nowadays... When I watch Laurent I don't know what to expect, when I watch Larry I'm like "and now he gonna do that. Oh, yes, what did I say".
@@runitseren1968 Yeah, man. Larry is my favorite dancer but when I see that there's a new video of him I don't have the happiness I used to have to watch it. All the videos look the same, to me her last cool performance was with Laura at The Code France. I don't know what happened to the guy. Because it's freestyle, I believe he has some blockage, some personal problem, I don't know. I just hope he returns with everything as it was in 2019-2021.

Judges don’t care if they saw his moves before all they judge is the moves he showcases in the moment and how they’re represented within the music. Yes we’ve seen the moves before but as a judge that doesn’t matter his moves were less hype than Noscript‘s but were perfectly executed within the music, Larry had better musicality and less hype moves.
Also Larry has been one of the best battle dancers on this planet while Lau hasn’t been be able to make it past the pre selection in some occasions 2-3 years ago. So you’re narrative that Larry is is not a Good Battle dancer and just for show is just a blatant lie.

This was one of the rare few times I’ve seen a challenger rise to the mammoth occasion/task that IS the God of Dance, “Larry Nicolas Bourgeois”. The absolute menacingly/sinisterly dark and violently blitzing aggression that he brought, coupled with impossible levels of dance sense and refined coordination to boot, was an absolutely devilishly dastardly mix, and truly worthy of the mountainously extraterrestrial opposition in Larry.

I was at the last fusion concept and he did brought the blaze back there and was phenomenal. But in this video it was just a call out battle with nothing to win so he didn't have to go blaze mode and was chilling.

@@Aswin_zone I've known them for more than fifteen years (since 2008). I'm a Laurent fan he's my fav, but I don't want to be hypocritical like many are. Let me tell you, even Laurent uses the same old moves. I've seen him using the same old floor moves, knee drops, spins etc and I've never seen anyone call him out for that. But you only speak when it's Larry who do his signature moves. I find it a little hypocritical. Yes Laurent is creative. I think it's a personal choice that Larry focuses more on his technique to become the most precise and intricate dancer. But he can also be really creative when he wants to, like he did in the btm exchange he won last year, which was one of Larry's best and a very underrated battle. His creativity wise at this battle was on another level and it was full of knew moves and concepts, a lot of people even talked about it in comments on the video. He was also ingenious at the battle he won with Laura last year and this fusion concept. So that's why i said he was just chilling here and wasn't at his best in blaze mode for sure. @@Aswin_zone Sorry for the mistake i'm French and English isn't my first language. As i said i've known them since 2008 which means fifteen years ago, not 40 lol! They started very young and I knew them ''from 'france got talent in 2008'' which they participated when they were just 15 years old. And i started watching them since then when they were just teenagers and battling in the streets of Paris before they even do Judge debout in 2011 and become famous. And no, Their age itself is 35 now (born in 1988) not 33 lol.

Yeah, man. I've had this feeling since Larry's last battle with Laura in The Code France, in July 2022 I think. He seems to be without creativity, unmotivated, I don't know... It's always repetitive, always the same movements. Very strange, I hope he comes back with everything like Laurent is at the moment. Larry is my favorite dancer but only Laurent is a pleasure to watch lately.

@@arthurguido1484 can’t pinpoint what it is either, if you watch his battles and freestyles in the past like 2014 to 2016 there was so much more groove and feeling/ umph in his dancing, now it feels flat I think it’s because he’s solely focused on hitting every beat instead of feeling the music and grooving. He’s full of resets and has become stagnant most of the time. Also his style now is mostly animation which could be another reason but yeah I much MUCH prefer his 2014-2016 style full of groove and just killing every battle. usually in callout exhibitions people don't tend to make a lot of noise because the audience is mostly made up of dance students and professional dancers, so people are there to pay attention and who knows how to extract a thing or two, they're not there to be shouting that Not even girls are there what's the point of criticizing something you don't even know how it works? it's easier to ask than to draw conclusions
