Try a new art, like I dunno, needle felting. I discovered through that medium I can sculpt, which I didn’t know, so now I want to explore clay… I know some artists focus one type of medium, but I enjoy trying them all…
When this video came out, my husband coincidentally suggested we should go to a friend’s garden for a chat and that I should bring my watercolours with me. I thought it was a bit silly at first but when I got there I saw some pretty flowers and, even though I hadn’t touched a brush in a while, I felt inspired enough to paint again. I didn’t feel super proud of the painting but hearing words of encouragement from those around who saw it gave me the willingness to start planning and doing some creative things again. Crazy how much a little change in scenery and just kind of forcing yourself a bit out of your comfort zone can have such an impact on everything else…

@@Makoccino 🙀🙀 *senpai has noticed me* I’m literally now browsing online to get a couple of supplies I no longer had with me like brushes, watercolour paper and some metallic watercolours to get me back into painting again. These videos really help me sometimes, I’m very grateful for the emphasis you put on these thoughts and little actions to stay motivated.
Mako was the first watercolor ytuber I came across and she really inspired me to start doing watercolor, I have improved so much through out the years because of her. Thank you for helping me find my passion in painting :) 💕💕

These are wonderful ideas. What gets me out of a creative slump the most is to change up the subject matter or paint medium and to ignore negative input. For example, I was tired of painting realistic birds so I changed over to semi-realistic faces using a different technique and mixed media. Despite my husband's disparaging "What's with these faces?!" comment, I ignored it and continued doing what made me happy.
The talk about inspiration and the cycle and stuff really hit me because in really going through that badly rn. And that makes me nervous because i want to get back into it because its something i wanna do but at the same time i feel like eh. I feel like im wasting time but by watching this video i feel a bit more inspired.

THANK YOU! I've been on holiday for 5 days in nature and brought my supplies and nothing happened except for me staring at the paper hoping for magic. I just got back home feeling super demotivated and this video is timed perfectly.
Omg how did you know I was suffering artblock for these past 2 months? I hate it I'm always doing art but I've been soo worn out. I have soo many handmade watercolors that I want to create art but I cant seem to to pick up a pencil. I'm soo glad I watch this video I love all your artistic skills
One of my art teachers used to sweep his studio floor and organize his art supplies when he didn't feel like painting. Sometimes I switch to other crafts like knitting or do jigsaw puzzles until I feel like painting again.
I have day when I can't stop create drawings or paintings. It's like obsession and I can paint few paintings in a day but after that I can't make anything for weeks 🥺
In my mind I create all the time and constantly motivated but when I sit and try do something it's not happening. Feel so empty.
I wish to be more systematic.

I haven’t watched a lot of your videos yet, but from the few I have your advice is awesome. Like make me cry awesome. You clearly speak from the heart and I feel like you really care about me even though we haven’t met.
I’m on the verge of having time to focus on painting and I’m super excited. I presently do needle felting which I love but I like to explore doing everything. I don’t paint often because I don’t have a space to paint at the moment and needle felting I can do on my couch. I make all kinds of art, but painting was something I avoided because I’m not the best at drawing…but water color too me by surprise, I explored it this summer and I discovered I’m pretty good at it.
A watercolor retreat? I need to get in on that! And …even though I’m not an ‘artist’ by trade… oh wow, I’m inspired because I run an AirBnB but I’m always looking for ways to help people emotionally and your talk ..wow I can’t believe I missed this..I can help using art to talk to them..like teaching them my basic knowledge and talking… oh wow… I’m very spiritual and I have had a very weird life… but I know if people knew what I knew they would be less afraid of living… ooh boy this was so great… and thank you for sharing your experience. Your aura is bright and beautiful.
I said to a friend once that we're all dead men anyway, so I think we really have to enjoy the moment, whatever the world may may think of us in 100 years, we don't know... I've always been plagued by a 'critical alter ego' but I fight on. Thanks for this video. 👍

Im so self conscious on my art that it stops me from doing it! I’m so scared of being a failure and everytime I have the energy to draw again I just go on my phone and freeze up! I hate it so much. I have been on art block for months now and it’s making me feel so shitty! I enjoy art and I love everything about it but I don’t feel worthy of it and it hurts so much! 😭😭😭

@@kidleader9178 It’s literally the worse feeing comparing your art work to others. You start to overthink. I’m trying to be nicer to myself and say it’s okay to not make good art but man art block sucks.
