  • During the early morning, just after 5 AM, a possible QLCS tornado (debris ball signature noted on radar in the Mustang area) moved into Oklahoma City, prompting the roll of the sirens. Several power flashes were observed with the storm (not shown in this video). 10-13-2021

Used to live in OKC. It's wild when driving and you hear the car radio go to the Emergency Broadcast Signal at the same time that the sirens start.

OKC and Tulsa (and probably others) have their warnings figured out. In the 2019 outbreak in Tulsa I remember the sirens starting up at the same second my phone goes off for the tornado warning.
I live in Kansas now. Fast forward to the 2022 Andover tornado, it was almost a full minute before the sirens activated, as recorded by my dashcams. Props to Oklahoma, they have a well-built warning system.

This one went over my house in Yukon. I went outside, saw it, and went back inside and tried to get to shelter. I ended up riding it out in my kitchen because the pressure of the tornado was holding the garage door shut.

I remember this. My phone went off first and then these went off. Scary stuff especially considering the storms weren’t even severe when they came in the metro.

This is the same tornado that came within 4 blocks of my home, there were downed trees, powerlines and one of my neighbor's windows were shattered. It wasn't a particularly strong tornado, yet it was pretty surreal nonetheless.
