I was lucky once(perhaps more than once over the years) but I grew up in Terre Haute. I had a friend that worked at Boston Connection. One night he called me and told me to come over. To my surprise he was there and there was only maybe a couple handful of people there. They were pestering the shit out of him. He got up walked out of his way to walk by me and said,”how are you doing” and a nod. I tried so hard not to act star struck. About a minute after he returned to his seat the waitress laid a beer on my table and said,”this one is from Larry”, Larry Bird bought me a beer!
