03:12 99.9% the problem is the video and/or the audio head. From my experience, the audio can be as annoying as the image. Outside of the respective video and audio heads, the problems are virtually nonexistent but it's still a good idea to quickly clean these components of the VCR while we're at it.
Thanks for the video! Many recommend getting rid of that auto-head cleaning assembly completely, as the sponge tends to disintegrate over time and causes more troubles than its worth. What are your thoughts on removing or leaving in place?

I definitely agree to get rid of the sponge. It’s a pain in the neck and you don’t really need it.
