Ozzy was such a child of the 1960's - you would never have guessed, based on his music, that his favorite band was the Beatles.
Same thing with Lemmy Kilmister - he was an absolute Beatles fanatic.
It was because the Beatles were a Northern English Band from working class Liverpool. instead of hip London - and they inspired all these Northern English Working Class Kids that they could be successful musicians and Rock Stars too,

It was because of the music they created!!!! They were progressive. That’s what these other musicians learnt from them. Be individually creative and go for it.

i suspected it was the beatles but didn't know until i just read your comment. The Beatles aren't 'she loves you' The Beatles are the progression from that to Rubber Soul to Revolver and Abbey Rd. It's all songs anyway whether it's pop or punk or metal. Same construct.

My personal Diary I wrote the next day after the last show of Randy Rhoads in Knoxville Tennessee! RIP RANDY! YOU ARE SORELY MISSED!
OZZY OSBOURNE: THURSDAY MARCH 18TH 1982: RANDY RHOADS LAST SHOW AT THE KNOXVILLE CIVIC COLISEUM: DIARY OF A MADMAN TOUR:
Upon entering the coliseum after buying my tour shirt and ticket 🎫 stub processing: I noticed the stage was set up like a medieval castle with arches and bats 🦇 flying around the top of them. There was a staircase leading up to Tommy Aldridge’s Drumkit. The top left of Tommy was where Donny Airey’s keyboards were set up. Stage right and left had to cages with which Randy Rhoads would appear from the floor stage right and Rudy Sarzo stage left. OZZY had a throne of which he would appear out of to start the show to Over the Mountain. Tommy had his drum tech dressed as an Executioner stand beside his kit with his arms crossed. The staircase had a small section that would open and a small dwarf named: Ronnie (after Ronnie James Dio the new singer for Black Sabbath-replacing OZZY) and hand OZZY towels and water between songs. Little did we all know that later in the show: the executioner would bring the dwarf out to be hung from the rafters and later he would cut off his head using a guillotine! At the end of the show OZZY climbed onto a giant mechanical hand that OZZY stood on top of and launched unspecified meat 🥩 🍖 into the audience! Of course it was all an a theatrical act as the dwarf appeared to take a bow with OZZY and the band. When OZZY smiled we noticed he put vampire 🧛‍♀️ teeth in! We laughed hard! I went to the show with my friend Richard and his older brother Greg who was 18 at the time. We were 13. Greatest show on earth! Richard and I were both terrified and thrilled at what we witnessed! Unfortunately the next morning all that excitement and energy was gone as we learned that Randy Rhoads perished in a plane crash in Florida. Richard and I played drums but Greg played guitar 🎸 and he definitely took it the hardest! One of the greatest guitarist of our generation and had just won the new guitarist of the year by Guitar Player magazine. Rest In Peace Randy Rhoads your music lives on!
    Sincerely,
    Gary Lagstrom

    START TRANSCRIPT-
Voice Over: Here’s Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in conversation with Rick Rubin. They start things off talking about the track Ozzy did with Post Malone and Travis Scott, “Take What You Want.”
Sharon Osbourne: Did you hear the track Ozzy did with Post [Malone]?
    Rick Rubin: [no]
SO: Oh, you’ve got to hear that.
    RR: Yeah
    SO: -and Travis Scott
Ozzy Osbourne: Post Malone is a big shot, now isn’t he?
    RR: Yeah, yeah, yeah
OO: When Andrew came in and said “I want you to do a song with Post Malone.” I said [scoffing] “Fuckin’ who’s this?” It’s just so funny, you know?
    RR: He’s great though!
    OO: He’s doing great!
SO: I was stunned that it’s just him on stage.
    OO: There’s not a band!
SO: No band, no nothing. Just him. Incredible!
RR [ to Sharon]: Yeah, yeah, yeah
RR [to Ozzy]: Tell me your first memories of any performance, what was the first time you remember being on stage doing music?
OO: I was in a band called The Prospectors, ‘cause the singer - he was sick. I had never done a gig. We did a gig at Birmingham Fire Station. There was three firemen and a drunk in the audience. You’d think I was gonna be shot, I was so nervous to go on stage. Yeah, that was the first gig I think I ever did.
RR: Did you do cover songs or-
OO: Oh, yeah. Blues or Stones - them and you know, all that. And it was um… Back- man, I mean the whole game has changed now. And when we were - there’s nowhere to play that much anymore. I mean we used to go to - we used to have our - when we were Sabbath, we’d mess around with different names, it was like Polka-Toke Blues Band, Earth, and then we wrote the song Black Sabbath and then Geezer said ‘Why don’t we call the band Black Sabbath?’ and that was it then.
RR: How did the band come together?
OO: Well, I was in a band we called The Red with Geezer. I never did a gig with them. The only reason I liked gigs: I had a PA [system]. And so, Geezer and I said - I said to him ‘I wanna get out.’ He said ‘So do I.’ And shortly around that time, Geezer and Bill had a band called Mythology and they had been busted for smoking dope. And they had to break up because it was like the curse.
So, I used to go to the same school as Tony, and we didn’t get on at school.
RR: This is like high school?
    OO: Yeah
    RR: Mm.
OO: And um, one thing, let me tell you: originally we had a saxophone player and a bottleneck guitar player like - ‘cause it was like Fleetwood Mac that were around, but the original Fleetwood Mac
RR: Yes! The blues Fleetwood Mac.
OO: Nothing like they are now, what they ended up being. And we used to go and see them. We’d go and see John Miles, Blues Breakers, and there was a club in Birmingham that was called - I forgot the name of this club now - but we used to go in there, we used to see all these different bands, you know. I saw Candy there once, so I was like ‘An American band in Birmingham!’ and freaked out.
RR: How many people would be in a club like that then?
OO: Not a great amount, 700 to 1000 at the most. Then you’d have, there was a club, a few clubs in Birmingham [bemused tone] we used to go with our van full of equipment just in case the band never made it. If there wasn’t any band, we’d go and play!
    RR: [laughing]
OO: We’d stand in for Ten Years After or Jethro Tull and a few other bands.
    RR: Amazing
OO: And then we played with Jethro Tull and Tony got offered the gig and I remember thinking “Oh no, he’s gone now!” ‘Cause Tony was summat else, I mean, he still is! I mean, there’s nobody on the face of the earth that can come up with them riffs.
    RR: King of the riffs
OO: Great! And then you know, its kind of like -
RR: Did he ever play with Jethro Tull or no?
OO: I think he did a couple of TV things. He did a rock n roll - The Rolling Stones Rock N Roll Circus -
    RR: Yes
OO: Which was a televised thing, and then he did a couple of - you know we weren’t with him so long. And then he came back and said ‘if we get our stuff together, I think we can do it.’ And I was like ‘Fuckin’ hell, he left Jethro Tull!? To come back to us!?’ And that was a big jump, that was. But Tony’s one of these guys, he hates being told what to do. He’ll fuckin’ punch you in your nose, you know? I’ve seen him do it, you know!
    RR: [laughing]
OO: He hates being told, so they told him he’d have to wear hats and he just went ‘No point.’ But he was uh, it was all, everything was new! I mean, we’d get in the van, we’d play The Star Club Hamburg for residency. But we had nothing to lose, it was exciting.
