A good tip for everyone to check out are midi editors. If your song isn't in the note range of about 39 notes, you can't play certain sounds Midi editors come in handy in these situations, you can delete bass fragments or move certain parts an octave higher, so that it works in webfishing. I did that with K.K Crusin' you played at the end and mine doesn't skip notes like these (11:28)
this is a smart way to go about the limited range on the guitar, there are some quick ones you can use in your browser like online sequencer i believe. if your using midi play, you can mute the drums and bass if they are separated to different channels as well. potato midi uses the meows and pitches them to expand the range, but the higher the pitch the quieter it seems to be unfortunately.
It's a blast! Learning something you can play IRL is super rewarding, I figured out the beginning finger picking part from Metallica's Fade to Black (with hammer-ons!) and it's so satisfying to practice and get good at. Writing music is really cool too, I set up a few chords with variations and have a lot of fun coming up with new tunes I can play with them. Plus you can construct some super thick chords that would be an absolute menace to fret in real life, and pretty quickly I've been able to write things that I probably couldn't replicate on a real guitar lol. This video didn't mention these but there are two mods that allow you to save multiple sets of chords, either by saving a preset with a name and loading it later (TunaGuitar) or using the F1-F9 keys to have 9 banks of 9 chords (ChordSwitcher). My next song to tackle will be the Dwarf Fortress theme, and I'll definitely need ChordSwitcher to jump to different banks with a keyboard shortcut because that song is waaaay too complicated for only 9 chords haha. I'd love to hop in a server with you and show you my tunes!

@@Pomodorosan if your playing manually well enough that people don’t even realize it your doing something right, i believe it to be far more enjoyable doing it that way then just downloading something and hitting play. at the end of the day, do what makes you happy. i think they both have there places, it’s way faster to just constantly be playing stuff with a midi since you don’t need to save any chords. if you are playing manually the work (and time) itself is what makes it more enjoyable.
I manually encourage manual players! We love to see you doing it and people with a discerning ear can tell when someone is doing it based on their skill alone. Please don't stop!
As someone who's played both manually and midi in other games before, I just now got the game after seeing the manual playstyle, and I highly encourage you stick to it too! FME, there are a few benefits to playing manny over midi: 1) It's sooo much easier to start from any part of a song. Midi mod players usually just have a pause and resume function, making it kinda awkward when you resume in the middle of a riff 2) It's also super easy to switch up the tempo on the fly to adapt to the current mood 3) Songs that share the same chord structure should allow you blend between them seamlessly, which also helps to adapt with the mood, or to give listeners a surprise Utilizing these tricks can help distinguish you from from midi players and gain respect in that regard. I still find midi players very inspiring too though, as it makes music more accessible, and their song choices gives me a lot of great ideas!

Just wanted to say that if you are using midistrummer and have any background in music theory or have ever touched a piano before it's really easy to open a midi file editor and transpose sections into the range of the guitar or delete unwanted parts.
