This has to be the most insane final phase of a boss in any game I’ve played. Sure, the fight with Mihaly was impressive. But that may have been mostly the soundtrack going absolutely nuts. It was a 1v1 against him when you strip the soundtrack and dialogue away. But this phase against Torres? Soundtrack going arguably even more nuts, people on both sides screaming, missiles and CWIS ounces flying everywhere, those railgun turrets firing at you, all while Torres is laughing like a madman over radio.
One of the few things that fills me with life; Torres going batshit waxing mass-murder aboard a vessel that’s capable of at least 4 kinds of mass-murder
Facing the alicorn with full weaponry should have been the way to go in the last section of the mission, as to how, just Make it have more hidden vls or magically self-repairs his railguns, if the arsenal bird can have self-reaparing propellers why not the alicorn railguns
All this firepower is a proof that Alicorn is not a "submarine" in the traditional sense. It's instead a marine strategic artillery platform Why? Think about it, you've basically got a mobile long-range nuclear weapon movements of which cannot be traced until it's actually ready to fire. Which already makes it more dangerous than your typical ICBM nuke (since silos from which said ICBMs are launched can be found via satellites or hypersonic recon planes + moving a whole missile to another silo while keeping it hidden is a waste of resources and time, and you'd rather just move its warhead to another missile) Also consider that all this firepower at display is meant for defending the platform from being attacked while readying its big boom, be the attackers ships or planes. Hell, I can see that being a reason for it having aircraft carrier capabilities, and also SLUAVs
The thing is basically an entire fleet in a single vessel like david said, half dozen of these things can land lock humanity by power projection alone, strangeral industrial might is just on another level.

He's been through multiple wars, saw his country and army destroyed, was stuck in a metal tin at the bottom of the ocean for two years and likely committed (and ordered) cannibalism in order to survive. He's been through enough to break almost any man. All Crimson had broken was his ego. He's not insane, he's a malignant narcissist.

I can't enjoy playing this mission, It's hard to keep the sonobuoy people alive makes me sad when they die
