Oh, wie herrlich! So elegant und leicht. Electrifying hat jemand weiter unten geschrieben. Ja!
That is a spectacular performance! Buoyant, expressive, nuanced and so joyful. The ending is another Bach the genius moment when he goes to a four voice fugue after all the intricate eight voice writing. Thank you so much!!! I will listen to this often.
I've heard a lot of music in my long life. BWV 225 destroys me every time I hear it. It's been my favorite musical composition ever for years, and I never tire of it. Lovely performance. This is extremely difficult music to do well.
I completely agree with you, and I find very few people who actually understand this fact, that how marvelous BWV225 is. It is one the most complex compositions in the history of classical music along with BWV226.
By accident I stubled upon this video and I am so deeply impressed by the beaty of this performance ... such quality and musicality. Wonderful and thanks for sharing!
Danke. Für die. Weiteren impulse. Kenne einige. Davon.
Lovely, thanks. And I really like videos like this in which the singers' body language is relaxed and comfortable for the individual, instead of formal posturing
To me, personally, the first and third movements were too fast to fully hear the nuance of the text setting and the stunning harmonies, but the tempo was warranted for the fourth and final movement. Despite that, the balance between the voices is one of the best ive ever heard, and I’ve listened to many recordings of this, my favourite motet! Congratulations to this brilliant group!
If I'm singing this myself, without any voices to help me stagger, I welcome this tempo in the first and third! :) And actually, Gardiner is faster in both his recordings, I believe.
But I absolutely agree that with only one voice per part, there is basically no choice but to go at least this tempo! One voice per part is also something I personally don’t believe in though haha
Sonst Musik vom Allerfeinsten!
Glorious! I like that it's not a concert setting, like seeing young people performing in a small ensemble. These singers are so good! This is a celestial piece of music. Only quibble is that the voices get a little muddled because of the acoustics in the venue.

Thank you: really a beautiful performance. For my taste maybe the first and last section's tempo is too fast, but anyway bravo! I have just a question: at the end of the motet I can hear clearly the organ' b-flat major chord, but the hands of the organist are not on the keybord: who is playing?
Hello Andrea Banaudi, Thank you for your comment! The very last camera setting is a little off sync unfortunately, which we only noticed post-production. We hope you enjoyed the video nontheless! :)
I left translations as a comment on the RUclips video by the Norwegian Soloists’ Choir, also a great performance with a larger choir and spectacular audio. You’ll need to scroll down the comments a bit to find the text in German & English. Here’s the link: ruclips.net/video/LOyuB86OHRo/видео.html 😎🎹
The score never goes below F, the volume never beyond forte; on the other hand you're having to sing these merciless trains of sixteenths in allegro vivace. That really shifts the contour of your challenges. You can see it with the ladies too. Their prime concern appears to be how to punch in their phrases in tune and in synch at these speeds. No criticism - it sounds beautiful.
Sorry, you have a double quire, 4 voices each and you decide that it would be very good that almost ( if not all ) of them have to go full on vibrato on ( almost ) every note they sing. The sound is extremely muddy even if there's only 8 people singing. Listen to Herreweghe version instead
Clearly a communication problem with the 'conductor' who is disturbing the singers and the music. The ideas are fine, but this is not the way. There is so much to say about this performance, my goodness

Bach is always dancing. Just look at the singers who can’t stop swaying. How joyous.
Wunderschön! Eine reine Freude. Bravissimo!

Wahnsinnig gut gemacht, ein spezielles Erlebnis. Vielen Dank und bitte mehr davon!
fabulous performance of this substantial work of J S Bach.
Superb!
Wonderful, beautiful voices and an amazing performance.
Many thanks, "Vokalzirkel" for sharing .
Wonderful harmony, blended voices.
Vokalzirkel and how to transform a complex piece of music into unlimited feelings and emotions!
the tone and control are fantastic!
What a superb interpretation. Yes, Herr Mozart, this is indeed something from which we can learn.

I certainly don’t believe that Gardiner does everything right… both in the music and in life…
But I absolutely agree that with only one voice per part, there is basically no choice but to go at least this tempo! One voice per part is also something I personally don’t believe in though haha
Hervorragend!!

Wonderful ensemble work. Every conceivable singing posture!
Super soprane ,
Que de Beauté. Merci
J. S. Bach is the most convincing material proof of the existence of God.
Beautiful! Looking forward to this Ensemble!!
Beawtifull!

@@vokalzirkel7573 Thank you so much for your answer! I wait for the the other motets and I wish you good job!
My thought too
bravo!!!
Wonderful. How do I find English translation?
Hello,
Thank you for your interest!
You can find a translation of the motet here: www.bach-cantatas.com/Texts/BWV225-Eng10.htm

Guy with Red jumper...Is that a correct way to sing???

The video and sound are stragely out of sync at times - the conductor looks very behind - maybe he was trying to slow them down?
Clearly a communication problem with the 'conductor' who is disturbing the singers and the music. The ideas are fine, but this is not the way.
There is so much to say about this performance, my goodness
agreed: no 'conductor' would be an improvement
I'd say too fast. Losing harmonies when rushed so much.
🤷🏻♂️
😄
Das habe ich mich auch gefragt. Die koennen einfach alles.
Gegenfrage: Warum sollte man das nicht können? Welcher physiologische "Grund" sollte dagegen sprechen? Mir ist übrigens das "ansonsten" ein Rätsel. 🙂
Too fast, really
Everyone who didn't write a note must stand still and just sing: don't squat, don't sway, don't make funny faces---you're simply a pipe.
No, they're not pipes, but human beings, and they're given text. However, I could've done with less arm-waving.
@@garyrebholz4139 On further consideration, I recant my earlier comment. I think physical expression appropriate for a song of praise.
Are you guys kidding? Singers need to move to be expressive. If it works to produce an immaculate tone, let them.
crap. they are recording not performing in concert
@@frogmouth Define "performing," and then consider this non-performance was captured on video with the intention of showing it to the 🌎.
Superb!
