I agree. The 2017 was my favorite for a long time. I didn't realize they were discontinuing it, I wish I did, the sales were killer. The dry down of the 2017 was amazing with the apple and like a clean powdery end after wearing it throughout the day. That was my favorite part. I just picked up the new one and the beginning is the same if not a little better and louder but I'm kinda disappointed with the dry down. The apple is gone and all I smell is vanilla. Regulations suck.
I also have both versions. Older version is more floral and reminds me of Versace Pour Homme. New version doesn't have that "violet leaf". its not floral to my nose at all. Its more resinous. Ambergris note is definitely there! Its louder and lasts longer. I would say its more masculine. New version reminds me of Y EDP, but with less sweetness and more soft sharpness and airiness. I love new version. I would say its unique, shamanic freshie.
I have the older version and I’ve been trying to pinpoint my thoughts about it when comparing to the new version which I haven’t picked up yet and your assessment seems about how I feel about it. I’ve worn the older version to work recently and a female worker asked me what I was wearing and said I smelled very nice. Definitely into the Y line.
I Blind bought the new one it's little bit tone down from the ordinary YSL says they had to remove some chemical from their ordinary/ for me I'm going to stick with the 2017-2018 OG
I own the EDP, and Le Parfum. But I hesitate to pull the trigger on the EDT, cause I can't imagine it's gonna compare to those. And I'm not really a "have to get the whole line" type of guy. Mainly because I can't afford to be that guy 😂, but I digress... Thanks for the info brother. ✌️

So much of fragrance longevity comes down to skin chemistry. My skin's a little dry so I don't get even with hydration both external and internal I don't get much longevity out of YSLY EDT the 2022 version. I'm saying about 4 hours and it's pretty much vanished. I have a decant of it 10 mL and I'm testing it out right now I put seven sprays on which is a lot about 3 hours ago and I'm sitting outside in a breeze and I can't smell anything. I have clean white musk from authenticity perfumes and what I'm going to go try is to put on a layer of that and then put this on on top of it just for an experiment

The bottles are slightly different bro.. juice color is slightly lighter in the 2022
I can pick up a 6.7 oz EDT for 90 bucks.. I already have the EDP.. in your opinion are they redundant, or should I make that move?
I don’t think it’s redundant to have both.. the edt is a lot fresher & does better in warmer weather.

Just found out about the reformulation a week ago my personal bottle is from 2019 and found a “new” 2018 version on Mercari for 60.
Just copped Eau Frachie as I can see that going the same way as the edt 2017 you don’t see it advertised in their promos anymore…took that as a hint😅😂

A lavender accord to my nose… yes. It doesn’t list it on the note breakdown today.. but I definitely get it..
