Great video and interview! Love what you guys do and how you've been able to develop and grow over the past year. I know you've already invested in a camera, but I would still advise you to buy a better, more high end macro camera, it would really add so much more to the visual experience.
Hey Matt, I know it's not intentional but I've noticed that you often tend to cut off your guests in the middle of their sentences or explanations, I think you should work on that :)
Obviously best interview , every panerai fan is waiting to know about the bronzo, and then the constant cutting off. However thank you anyways for the interview
The size is due to the fact that Rolex essentially utilized the oyster pocketwatch when Panerai approached them for the watch to supply to the navy, and they’ve kept that historically accurate all these years.
You should get Producer Michael on the show...he is local to you, owns a ton of super expensive watches and has a Rock'n Roll background....could be a very fun episode.
For anyone who wants a CRT TV sized watch on their wrist 'Panerai are just the watch for you'. Having said that I actually might by a 47mm Panerai Submersible. Just something about it is calling me. Ideally in Carbotech.
30m water proof Panerai is the future of the company, seems like it. I have no idea how they are still marketing as a sports or dive watch, not even everyday.
The Panerai Due is a dress watch with Panerai design cues (it is not marketed as a sports watch). Patek dress watches have 25m WR..AP dress watches have 20m WR. The Breitling navitimer is a sports watch with 30m WR...what is the problem here?
Sorry, buy WAAAY too expensive with ETA and not really a dive watch. But I did just pick up a Pam268. In-house, reverse bubble date, and small seconds.
White Balance keeps shifting...dang. Why are you not posting pictures of the watch models you are talking about. Seeing you guys on camera is um really not fun to look at.
Use to be a die hard Paneristi, till the Pam360 debacle. That watch single handedly kill the brand, vintage prices are a fraction of what they use to be now cause of it.
The real questions should have been why Panerai does not hold value, why Panerai is overpriced and why Panerai floods the grey market. This CEO is a complete joke. That said, I do have alot of respect for the podcast and Weiss watches.
Ryan Loken You could say the same thing for most of the competition. Most new watches drop in value from retail when used, except steel Patek and Rolex generally.
Actually they hold value fine..compared to most other brands...They make < 70K watches a year..Rolex make 1.3 MILLION a year...who is flooding the market?
Most of them are divers in case design style only. They were developed during the war as divers, now that style has become iconic...but that's not to say all their watches are actual divers. I don't know anyone that would actually take their PAM diving...they all (or mostly) come on leather straps. Their Submersible line are rated 300m (just like any decent diving watch; Seamaster, Sub, etc.).
Resale value is a big indicator of brand strength. Resale is shitty for this brand now. Has been soft for years. Instead of keeping prices steady or lowering them, this douche makes them higher. The entry level line has no historic value which this brand thrives on.
For only it’s first year this show has had some heavy hitters on it.
Nice pull. And great questions. This made me a subscriber. I also love that you talk Seiko mods and then pull in the CEO of Panerai
Sooooo true
Wow thats awesome that you guys got Panerai ceo cant wait to see what ceo you guys have on next.
Well I wish I hadn't watched this. Now I really want a Panerai.
The quality of this podcasts and it’s guests is on another level
Very cool guest on this week’s podcast episode!
This is my new favorite watch blog
No pics again for certain searches.
agreed and note the small amount cam speaks up
Great video and Jean-Marc was very candid and relaxed, which made it even better to watch.
This guy really knows his BRAND.
Gents - a really enjoyable and fun interview. Thanks for a great 2018. Hope you both have a lovely Christmas. Happy New Year from Dublin
I like seeing CEOs, props to you sir.
Great show! Can we have a history and watches retrospective of Jaeger-LeCoultre?
Great show Cam and Matt. Not a huge fan of Panerai for the most part, but I totally respect a company that has a CEO like Jean.
Correction, that Luninor Regatta Transat is fucking baller
One of the best watch brands. I love Panerai.
Combat Straps, that is Aaron in Montreal. I have bought several from him, top notch work!

such a humble guy- loved him
best show yet
Great ep guys
well done
Matt coming from an RF engineer the fact you brought up Freq hopping was actually pretty impressive, haha.
Awesome show guys!!! Keep up the great work.
Hey Matt, I know it's not intentional but I've noticed that you often tend to cut off your guests in the middle of their sentences or explanations, I think you should work on that :)
fact
Yeah, that's exactly what I sum up for this podcast...let the CEO finish his sentence...plz...
Matt don’t read comments
@@stevebo8055 Yeah, he once said he left RUclips comment on only for popularity purpose...
Obviously best interview , every panerai fan is waiting to know about the bronzo, and then the constant cutting off. However thank you anyways for the interview
Great show!
Just found the podcast....just subscribed....👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Damn a nice guy and a CEO! Very nice show.......
Be nice to see the pictures you’re looking up and talking about.....
Seriously guys so many times you leave your viewers in the dark by not showing the images you are discussing. Not just this vid but many others.
If this guy takes Panerai out of the dumps he is the best ceo ever!
Panerai is definitely on the list.
👍🏻👍🏻 great show. My favorite brand.
✌️
Captain Zed fancy meeting you here.
Also my favourite brand :)
560Q & 731T . I love Panerai.
Matt - the California dial with the Roman and Arabic numbers was first used on the German Kampfschwimmer Panerai's during World War 2
Panerai's boat Eilean is the restored boat from Duran Duran's Rio music video if I'm not mistaken.
Can anyone does know if the new radiomir models still use radioactive lume?
They do not.
Apple "watches" are made in China not California.
Doesn't even matter
, there not even watches anyways.........there fucken wrist computers for sheep.
You gotta try and get George Kern from Breitling (formerly IWC) on the show!
Great show guys but the constant referring to screen views that you don’t share is killing this for me. Please see if you fix.
I got 1312 because I thought it was the most quintessential Panerai. Feels good to be reaffirmed by the ceo.
Unlimited bronzo!!! Fuck yeah!
He is one of our ambassadors - BALL ad comes.. LOLOL!!
Please show what your looking up on Google. You only show once in awhile. Kinda missing out on what your talking about.
The size is due to the fact that Rolex essentially utilized the oyster pocketwatch when Panerai approached them for the watch to supply to the navy, and they’ve kept that historically accurate all these years.
We're waiting for the Tudor show and the movie watch show. You could split movie watches into two shows - 007 and other
Four time zones just in the continental US, guys. Plus Alaska and Hawaii. I own GMTs just for this reason!
The new America's cup AC75's are indeed monohulls, not catamarans as stated.
You should get Producer Michael on the show...he is local to you, owns a ton of super expensive watches and has a Rock'n Roll background....could be a very fun episode.
that would be interesting. Though I don't think Michael knows alot about watches, might be funny!
Hi didn't ask about Seiko...
Not that it matters, but we have 4 time zones in the continental US. Being on the eastern time zone, I always forget about mountain time.
For anyone who wants a CRT TV sized watch on their wrist 'Panerai are just the watch for you'.
Having said that
I actually might by a 47mm Panerai Submersible. Just something about it is calling me.
Ideally in Carbotech.
Panerai is generally not for me but that tourbillon skeleton is amazing.

Combat Straps is where it's at man. Get yourself one. trust.
The "boyfriend watch" is real
Don’t bother leaving comments. Matt won’t read it.
Sorry, buy WAAAY too expensive with ETA and not really a dive watch. But I did just pick up a Pam268. In-house, reverse bubble date, and small seconds.
Panerai have been 100% in house since 2017.
I desperately need a PAM502. Can someone spot me 30 Gs?
White Balance keeps shifting...dang. Why are you not posting pictures of the watch models you are talking about. Seeing you guys on camera is um really not fun to look at.
Use to be a die hard Paneristi, till the Pam360 debacle. That watch single handedly kill the brand, vintage prices are a fraction of what they use to be now cause of it.
What was the Pam360 debacle? I know about the Pam318 scam.
You need a Jamie....
TheCaliforniaConservative get out of California before it’s too late man.
@@stevebo8055 haha I probably should. where do you recommend?
TheCaliforniaConservative that’s the question of the decade. We need a safe space.

For a company that positions itself towards divers (and diving watches in particular), some of the depth ratings are just laughable.
How many people actually use their divers, anyway? And Panerai has more than just pure divers
Most of them are divers in case design style only. They were developed during the war as divers, now that style has become iconic...but that's not to say all their watches are actual divers.
