But after that suddenly, the Japaneese economy wtinessed an economic crisis and since then their economy has been slowing down for the past 30 long years!! and even touched 0 and negative percent during global recessions!!!
and guess what??? Today, Even after 30 years, they still haven't recovered back to their old pace!!!
On top of that, after the Russia-Ukraine war started, Japan is in even deeper trouble with its economy is slowing down and its currency is falling down by 29% against the dollar!!
and now just like us and UK even Japan is at the brink of an economic nightmare!! And considering where India is right now!!! If we make the same mistakes as Japan, it wouldnt take long for the Indian economy to slow down just like Japan!!!

today, after 30 years of stagflation with no end in sight.....Japan's GDP is barely 25% of USA's......to say Japan has fallen is an understatement, Japan is merely a ghost of her former shell, permanently trapped in the past.
In the 90s Japan was a leading producer of semiconductor and Toshiba was accused of illegally supplying Russia, components for their submarines. So Toshiba was sanctioned and had to pay hefty fines, plus cancellation of contracts which almost bankrupted the company, just like what the US is trying to do to Huawei and other Chinese companies today. The Plaza Accord was engineered by the Western allies and designed to drive out Japanese competitiveness by making the Yen expensive, practically destroyed the Japanese economy.

We know that Japan 🇯🇵 became the 2nd largest economy in 1968. and it was a threat to the monopoly of the USA. The USA would have done the same with China but they didn't have control over them as they had over Japan.

While these might not be difficult to exploit, the fact still remains that a random person walking the street will not be able to exploit them due to not understanding they exist, i.e., it is easy for a professional to kill a guy like Abe but it is extremely difficult for an average citizen, no matter how much planning they put into it because they lack the basic knowledge to pull it off.

Keep in mind that Japan's "fall" was from 2nd to 3rd place, and even if they fell to 4th or 5th, they'd still be a highly-developed, rich economy with high living standards and a high GDP per capita. It's just that they used to be growing rapidly, and now they're mostly stuck where they are in absolute terms, while falling behind the growth of other countries, which puts their relative position at risk

GDP is still high but a lot of it is tied up in foreign investors, nameable actors include mostly the US. While their economy is still one of the strongest in the world, it hardly lives up to its full potential.

Just some interesting information, japan was used for manufacturing war time supplies during the korean war, which provided a substantial amount of capital that aided the post war recovery greatly, japan also received other help such as technology as a part of the strategy to strengthen it against soviet union.

@@Ray-of-Hope720 Yes, most of the CEO's of the biggest companies in Japan are above 60/65 and are have a Showa era mentality, they also have a strict hierarchy that stalls young talents for years to going up on the hierarchy and also stalls technological innovations, they still use a lot the Fax system (well at least it's more safe than being hacked and some hacker sees you mail!), and it's also a very cash payment country, the bank card payment is not that widely used... those are some examples...
As a student of economics I was always told that the reason behind Japans economic crisis was their falling birth rates and rising ageing population. Thankyou for this informative video.
The bubble and short term economic crash caused by the asset-price bubble were caused by accidental unintended effects from the Plaza accord, but the long term (through present day) economic growth decline is not, it's caused by demographic issues around falling birth rates and aging population (as you were taught). The growth of the Japanese economy was not sustainable at the hours that were being worked.
Also, I should note that despite what this video is trying to push, there is very little evidence the US created the Plaza accord as some evil plot to destroy the Japanese economy. They did it as a way to equalize the trade deficit between western allies during the cold war, especially because Japan had a massive trade surplus and the US had a trade deficit. The Plaza accord failed and had some negative unintended effects, but it wasn't some evil plot, just poor international monetary policy.
American censorship
I would say that the demographic decline & birthrate in Japan is the result of the economic decline cause by the Plaza accord & other trade blocks by the West since the 1980/90s. Young people couldn't afford to start families & have children, so the demographic started to decline.
There is not just one cause.
The situation is stagnant due to multiple factors.
However, although Japan's domestic economy is stagnant, Japan's foreign exchange reserves and overseas assets are growing every year, so it is not the Japanese government that has become poor, but the Japanese people.
Japan owns over $10 trillion in overseas assets.
This is about half of China's annual GDP.

Good thing is that India is actually actively pursuing foreign investment giving investors special benefits. We are even inviting investments from Chinese investors.
unfortunately india is not progressing economically fast enough. i think the main reason is they adopted western (british) democracy, which is designed to be slow, inefficient and counterproductive to agree on and implement policies, which means a country as large as india will find it extremely difficult to raise themselves to a standard even in the ballpark to china’s.

They lost a decade. Because the applicants got only one chance for jobs after passing out from colleges and the japanese companies hired for life time . For a decade ,during the recession ,the young population got no jobs. Hence they could not move on with their life properly and it is also a reason for an aging population.

That can't be the only reason if so turkey and multiple European nations we not successful despite being in nato and china is successful despite not being part of US allies is successful these countries became rich because they followed a good economic model which india failed to failed to create untill recently
@@sharunsan2683 till this day india has'nt adopted any good economic model. Economy in india is still based on imports and services leaving a huge chunk of population unemployed.i hope modi would try to reset that but it wont be easy though. It would require new and completely reformed labour and land bills which i dont see happening in the near future because of this democracy.
@@darthsorosious3985 true but unlike till 90's we atleast have a vision even though flawed it to become 'self sufficient' in all fields(agriculture, manufacturing,service) which means it's impossible focus on one field like Taiwan does with semi conductor and china with manufacturing, new zeland in agriculture. I think india should focus heavenly on IT service industry rather than focusing on everything and becoming 'Jack of all trades and master of none' and ur right passing a completely new reform bill will be difficult in all democratic countries
@@sharunsan2683 Only focusing on a single industry/technology cant get us anywhere. It is only suitable for small countries with low population. For the country with huge population like ours, Mastering an entire economic sector would be a feasible option. Like usa had mastered information sector,china had manufaturing sector,japan had tech sector.

There was a one man called shinzo Abe who had the ability to fix this all but we know what happened to him. Maybe someone wants intentionally Japan to stay like this.
Not only Japan- the EU/UK has been undergoing the same in the past 10years: they flip properties and prices keep rising. Also, the big corporations are behind this prices as well: they ‘create’ interest and competition for property offers to the point that people submit in envelopes, so the highest bidder selected. Banks, at the same time lending at bigger ratios (salaries are far behind). Now it’s all coming to an end. %% is increasing rapidly, before - interest was near 1% and people borrowed hugely. Mortgages were for 30-35y, now with interest so high, I guess it would be ‘normal’ for them to be 50y+.

Bro I am just starting to watch this video, but I can say for sure- ups and downs are part of any life cycle....but the resilience and recovery depends on reliable human capital which Japan doesn't lack like India and other developing countries. They will rise again sooner than any other country.
