In an instant this song took me back to that Sunday evening. It was just my mother, my two younger brothers and I. Sunday evenings were always bath evenings and so I had been sitting on the couch freshly bathed dressed into my cozy pajamas and had been happily drinking a warm milk-tea with honey as I had watched this movie for the tenth time. But somehow, only that evening is the one that is the clearest memory I have of watching Totoro. This always has been favorite tune from this movie.
Those memories of peaceful days in the past will always evoke the most beautiful feelings. It is so fantastic how your comment made me think back of such kind of undisturbed, laid-back days of my own life, I really needed that right now. I thank you for that ♡
For anyone wondering, this is specifically the audio of a live performance with Joe Hisaishi on the piano from the DVD "a Wish to the Moon ETUDE&ENCORE PIANO STORIES 2003". The full 2 hour concert is currently online and is as perfect as this.
I've never watched My Neighbor Totoro nor listened to the sound tracks. Yet this tune still hits a nostalgic note in my brain, and I feel like it encapsulates the emotions many of us have had over the past few months: fear as we face the challenge of COVID-19, mixed with the unsettling feeling of uncertainty. I'm currently writing this as a highschool senior excited to advance my education in University, but as I'm gazing towards what's to come, I feel like I'm missing out, somehow. A part of me feels this guilt for not fully absorbing the fun things that make highschool so memorable. This music, though, seemingly acts as a vehicle that brings me back to these days of no stress. The days where the present was the only thing that mattered. The days where we didn't know what love was, and thinking about the future only meant to wonder what was for dinner this evening. It's so accept that we're grown now. But here we are, stuck in the reality that we've created for ourselves. As I write this though, it occurs to me that I have no reason to be sad reminiscing over lost times. The possibilities of the future of limitless. So many more memories to make, and so many more things to experience. And it's with this in mind that I will keep my head up high, and continue to fearlessly face every challenge that's in my way, remembering to stay conscious during each step of it, cos that's how life should be lived. We only get so many years to explore these possibilities of the future, and you must be careful to love each moment. Blink, and you might miss it.
this song , finally i found it , i don't know where or when i heard , but it's so familiar , 2 weeks ago suddenly it appears in my dream , like a echo in my head since then . why whenever i hearing this song , my heart so heavy ?
@@saraviana3008 is the original for violin and piano good? Then here - www.sheetmusic.cc/violin/sheets/44130/Hisaishi_Jou_Kaze_no_Toori_Michi_from_Tonari_No_Totoro1988.html I'm sure you could quite easily make it into the piano only version. ;)
What most likely happened was déjà vu, because one side of your brain interpreted it as you were listening, yet the other side hadn't yet, so you basically believed that this song was one you have already heard before. After coming to that assumption your subconscious most likely attributed it to the dream you had 2 weeks prior (Now almost 1 year prior), making you think that this was indeed the song you had heard during that dream. This was the first thing that popped into my head when I had read your comment, so it is highly unlikely to be correct, but there is always a possibility. I don't personally believe that this song actually appeared in your dream, because that must have meant you would have have to been listening to it like mad, or just thinking about it like mad. Oh my, that is much longer than I would have thought my possible explanation to be, but there you go

Wow, from what I know of dreams, songs are rare in dreams.
Certain songs play in my dreams and sometimes I vividly remember those dreams.
