Still had a little ways to go to get to the visitor center. Been thru there many times. Still beautiful 😍
Awesome 😎 thanks for sharing your journey !
I grew up in Fairfield where you got gas. I was glad to leave there when I grew up. But I’ve been to Craters of the Moon many times, I’d love to go back now that I’m an adult and can appreciate it more, but it’s more than a few miles from Mobile Alabama.
See America first! Dang, this is a pretty country we get to see everyday. Craters is so stark and rough it's just beautiful, and in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy.
I love Idaho so much!
Well that was a beautiful little ride I love those kind of rides where you just go down the highway and filmed everything in front of you you get to see the lay of the land and how things are cool video thank you
I was just in Mountain Home from July 11-18th visiting family! Its beautiful there!!!
I love the way you focused on the storyboards! On some of your trips at least if you roll by them slowly with your video camera we can pause and read the board! Love the videos keep up the good work!I
Another great video! Thanks for taking us along!
Wonderful video! Utah looks amazing. I’ve always thought about going someday, but after watching this video I must go soon. Thank you, I’m slowly going through all of your videos and really enjoying them.
I'm watching and feeling homesick. I lived in that area for 11 years of my life. I also lived in Baker City. I am enjoying your journey. Well done!
Cool another great video I love your videos I will watch them over many times thank you so much Russ
Looking forward to seeing Craters of the Moon preserve! And camping locations!
Thanks, Russ. I lived in Idaho for a time and it's nice to see some of these places again.
Hi Russ! Beautiful drive! Wow!....that Crater Moon Park....can't wait to see what you find!
Idawho? Amazing views Russ. Oh wow see how black the ground went as you drove along, so cool. Thanks man you’re the best. Cheers!!!
Nice drive, and the weather was cooperating. Nice to get off the interstate and check things out. Like the small towns. Be safe. 😊👍
The tiny town you stopped at to buy gas was Fairfirld. A long-time friend lives there.
Once in the campground, one of the walking paths there is a crater you can walk up and peek inside. There is snow inside that never melts.
New to your channel, really good vid.Been in Florida my whole life so I enjoy seeing this part of America.
Very cool Russ!! Spectacular views!!
Nice 👍 but missing the ocean 🌊 already, happy Trails
Been through Mt Home quite a few times visiting my aunt in Rupert, Idaho.
Good videos 👍🏼
At 14:58, the mountain off to your right is called Queens Crown. Carey was my hometown.
big Wave Russ....Nice Zen moments...Take care and keep on trucking. Good Watch...Thanks for sharing...CDHx2
Hope you get to see the blue birds at the camp area. When I was there ,I could not believe how many are there.
Hope you head North to Mackay after Craters. Most of Idaho's highest peaks are in that area. Mackay Museum and the Mackay Mine Hill are worth seeing. So much to see in Idaho, you need at least a year.
I'm thinking on moving to Boise or Nampa...... I'm tired of Scottsdale and bought a new BMW adventure bike and getting ready for a move..... Have $5,000 bucks which is not much, but ready to travel...... I'm a commercial and Home inspector licensed in Arizona...... And working in Nampa as a building inspector full time at $30 bucks an hour could support me there..... Alone and no family 55 years old.... Ready for an adventure....... ha ha ......
I was hoping you would film thru Hill City, been there before, hauling cattle to Oregon.
I was in Mt Home in 1969. My brother was at the Air Force base there. We went to visit. Broke my 2 front teeth on the swimming pool at the hotel.
You missed Sun Valley to see the Sawtooth mountains .. maybe next time
Probably check out the Idaho statehouse website, they might know.
The Earth’s mantle is floating over a hot spot that right now is under Yellowstone. Ithat hot spot used to be under Craters of the moon, evidenced by the dark volcanic rocks. It was in eastern Oregon before that. Millions of years.....
Gee you were just North of me. Should have gone a tad south to the Hwy 30 Scenic Byway drive to Thousand Springs.
Gas here in StCloud Minnesota is $2.44 to $2.59 a gallon
This is our backyard when we are not wintering in Quartzsite. Enjoy!
Glad you are out of Washington; I was thinking of you as I was watching the 26 earthquakes at the base of Mt Hood. : -0 Enjoy. I am looking forwards to seeing what is next
Old Yellowstone rift. 6:41
Too bad you didn’t go on Hwy 21 outside of Boise. A lot of beautiful country. However, I checked google maps, part of the road had been closed due to avalanche. Boy, I sure have seen a lot of country with your videos and another channel I follow. What is cool one can look up the various videos to plan a trip by. Lot better than reading in a travel book.
Is Idaho the only place you have seen numbered signs? Maybe check with the State Government office of tourism to see if they ave a map of them.
Hi Russ i appreciate you pointing out all the campgrounds along the way. I live in Washington state i want to head down to Arizona this fall not sure of the route yet. I have a 31' class C towing a Jeep what route do you recommend?
If you want information on the sign numbers look up Idaho Historical Marker Sign. They are maintained by the Idaho DOT & Idaho Historical Society
Russ you missed a visit to the State Prison in Mountain Home ! Oh Yeeeah! Russ meets Wild Bill HicUp at the Ginger Beer drinking contest ! Burrrrrp !
My wife and I camped there it was a great campground
When we gonna stop and do some gold prospecting uncle Russ , I hear there's gold in Idaho
Dang, just when it was getting good you stop the video for another day......Stop that please....I love your travel vids to be longer. Hugs to you Russ. Drive safe.
been to the atomic research area where you can walk through the first atomic power plant and see the atomic jet engine they built but never used after finding it would radiate the air and kill everyone it flew over from exhaust
Backroads are fun to drive and lots to see, but you really need to watch your gas level or you could get in to trouble. Not a lot of places to get gas and most of them are high priced. Crater of the Moon. Do I need to get some bagels for the cream cheese? Happy trails.
Ooo
Im meet ypu in moll today on were im work look in pasbook
Gas in the High Sierra's … 5.39 / gallon OUCH !
