Purchased 2 TNW Aero Survival Rifles, one worked perfectly. The other was a manufacturers defect that randomly went full auto during normal operation. Had to be returned to the factory. We are watching the other one closely for the same malfunction, but be careful when buying from manufacturers who are clearly new to this and don't always get it right. Very serious safety fail, and because of this we will probably not purchase anything else from them.

I just love it whenever a manufacturer calls something a "compact survival rifle" and doesn't provide iron sights with it... because it's kind of like a racing car coming out of the customs shop with an engine of a Pinto: looks good in theory, but is useless in practice.
"The rifle comes apart easily and can fit in your backpack". Great!... but unfortunately you need another backpack (or a LARGE backpack to begin with) for the scope or red dot system you also need to carry, else the rifle will have as much accuracy as throwing stones at your target. Extra weight and bulk is also a concern, because a survival kit, by definition, has to be small enough to be carried around everywhere and not be cumbersome - otherwise, people will just leave it at the cabin or in the truck, then get stranded in the woods with no survival tools. Even the AR-7 (designed in the 70's) has basic iron sights built into it. They're maybe crude, but are there nevertheless for "survival" situations... and they work!
Also, what happens if your "chopper" falls out of the sky and your scope or red dot gets shattered in the process of the crash landing? No more aiming your bullets, I guess... sounds like a fun survival challenge indeed!
(I realize you can go out and buy flip sights to put on the rail for this thing, but those should already be implemented into the design. This thing is a fail as far as its' out of the box "survival capability" is concerned.)

How did this ASR Rifle evade me for 10 years? I thought I seen everything within my interest especially in the Survival Rifle category.

The gun you show has a left side charging handle and all the other vids I see show it on the right. Is this an option or was that gun a prototype and why would you move the charging handle to the right anyway??
I'm very interested in buying, how does one order ?

are you able to replace the stock on that rifle with a different ar-15 stock?

This looks like it would make for a very nice 6"-8" barreled SBR. I feel like I'd prefer a lighter\simpler fixed caliber version, but would like to try one out as the designers intended it before officially making that claim.

this breaks down far better than an AR and stores far more compact than an AR. it's a survival rifle.

Just read that TNW upped the MRSP to $799 - now they're going to sell even fewer of these stinkers!

Locally to me they are selling for $600-700

    • @TargetTime
      @TargetTime 9 лет назад +2

Not too bad. On their website it's like 800 for 1 caliber or 1300 for all 3 barrels

I just don't know if I trust them or not. Seems like a 50/50 mix of reviews. I like the idea of a PCC, but I'd be mad if I dropped $600-700 on a turd that would not function....

      Same here

So I bought a CZ scorpion a few days ago. It seems to be a better choice for a PCC. I installed the adaptor for a stabilizing brace. She's good to go!

So wait. You have to swap the barrel and the bolt..... how is this any different from having different uppers with 1 receiver on an AR platform? I guess this would be bit cheaper, but for what it is it doesn't seem worth it.

They should have included a _hooded_ dove tail front sight that would be compatible with the customers choice of rear flip up sight. I do not care for an _optics only_ rifle.

The editing went to crap at the end. Why flash cut the shooting portion and not allow proper viewing of rise and jump from each round? The dialogue was plus overall, bu tthey ruined it at the end with the editing.

Not sure if it was the 17 or 19 but one had issues when it got down to the last cartridge. I'm sure you figured it out by now since you asked two years ago....d'oh. I need to check dates.
