SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9 for Tuesday, June 25th: PA Speedweek will be slightly different, but good

  • A host of invaders have ducked in and out of Pennsylvania Speedweek in past years. That won't be the case in 2024. There will be a few travelers who invade the Keystone State looking for a big payday, but it won't be like it has been in the past. Don't worry, it will still be a must-see event ... despite missing a little of my voice, we discuss it on today's SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.

I’ll enjoy it just the same but I’m in central Pa & watch local weekly

The High Limit Series changed this fact like you said. I think maybe Brent Marks might show up for a few of the races but overall Anthony Macri is the heavy favorite but if DD can be consistent, I wouldn't count him out as PA Speedweeks champion.

So basically regardless of the reason, its safe to say that 1 or 2 of the top 25 drivers in the country will be there.I wouldn't say thats a star studded field.

I've never been to Pennsylvania speed week, how do the crowds compare to WoO races at the same track

I live here and will probably attend half of the races. The crowds are close to the same as WoO races (little less)... weather permitting.

It would be bad ass if PA Speedweek became High Limit sanctioned. The tracks would do REALLY well. I know the arguement about "money heading out of town" but Macri gonna take all the money this year anyway. Whats the difference.

I agree with the part about Macri, but I believe Speedweek is a spotlight on local tracks and drivers. Yes, invaders come in and join the party, but a series sanctioning the event would give it corporate like feel. An example would be when ASCOC took the Tuscarora 50.

@@trevoryocum2293 I like top quality racing in my backyard. Especially 9 or 10 nights of it. Ohio Speedweek for example was better to watch when it was ASCOC sanctioned.

Is there a data base that shows who got the money in years past ? Did the money really stay in PA about half the time as Jeremy says or did it roll out of PA with the drifters ?

@@Trackratz-zl9di This trend of it being mostly locals actually started a year ago. Before that, Larson won his share, Abreu won a couple, Peck and Bell also won. Really, the invaders started to make an impact in 2017. Was it 50 percent exactly, no. They won 18 races since 2017, and have done really well.

@@SprintCarUnlimited I never thought you ment exactly 50 50 but I thought the outsiders had always got a bigger piece of the pie

@@Trackratz-zl9di They have faired pretty well. I just wish I can remember how many shows they actually ran. Most of the time, they weren't there for the first three or four.

As long as Danny Dietrich wins then I don't give a crap who's there.
