    If your talking about SHARP with modular helmets, could you also mention the latch % rating too please 🙏

    I’m on my second Nolan flip lid. Been very happy with them.

    Personally with flip helmets I get nervy if the SHARP % latch score is "low". The SHoei Neotec 2 scored 70% which means in 9 out of the 30 drops they tested it for the latch came open. Having crashed in a SHark Evo One-2 helmet chin bar first (100% rated with SHARP) I was glad it didn't pop open exposing my face/chin! As the SHARP site says the %age rating isn't a guarantee but I tend to err on side of caution when it comes to flip helmets.

      Great post. Neotec 2 is way too expensive for such a poor chin bar score.

    No AGV Sportmodular?

    I've been using the Neotec 2 for the last couple of years. This helmet has a narrower profile than the Neotec 1, plus the fact that the intercom system is built into the helmet ... optional extra...is a big plus in terms of wind noise.... or lack of it. Most if not all intercom systems generate wind noise so having them fit flush is a huge advantage...

    I use a Skorpion helmet with inflatable cheek pads. Love it

      I do as well. (EXO 900x) My Cardo Freecom1+ works great. Annoying that many high end modular’s have built in coms. It’s what has really kept me from upgrading.

    I'm looking to replace my C5, just can't get on with it, the visor won't shut properly, I have to remove it, then reinstall, and it's fine for a while, then the whistling starts. I loose my temper and slam it shut, then it's a pain to open...the lining keeps dissconnecting, so I had to use liquid weld and permanently fit them. MHO it's terrible for the money.😢

    so yes as others have mentioned why no inclusion of the LS2 Valiant 2....P&J rated flip front lid ? it's the only one where the chin bar folds right over to the back so you don't have that chin bar over your head.

      I didn't consider flipover helmets like those for this list as I'm planning to cover those in their own grouping. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    Hi tony can you please when doing these reviews cover the same aspects on each lid , ie you don’t mention the weight of the hoc for example. Thks

      Thanks for the feedback and I'll bear that in mind. Not sure which lid you are asking after, but weights (weighed on our scales with Pinlocks fitted) for each are:
      Shoei Neotec 2: 1718g
      HJC RPHA-90S: 1585g
      Schuberth C3 Pro: 1509g
      Caberg Horus: 1740g
      Schuberth C5: 1682g
      Cheers, Tony

    X-Lite X-1005 is a great helmet, had the Shoei, AGV Sportmodular and HJC, X-Lite is far better.

    Greetings from Greece!
    I was surprised to see that Caberg Horus made it to the top 5 instead of the Duke II, which has an equal rating of 4.5/5 stars on your website. The Duke II (Metal White) has 183 reviews and the Horus (White) has only 3 reviews.
    I am in the market for a Flip-Up White Caberg helmet and I am lost in the technical details between the Droid, Duke II, Levo and Horus. Which would recommend from these four?
    Thanks!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад +3

      Hi, - break it right down and the Horus has an average score of 4.79 and the Duke II is 4.73. The Duke II is in our list of the best budget flips, which we have recently added to the channel. My feeling is the Droid and Duke II are similar, as are the Levo and Horus (but the Levo has a composite-fibre shell, which is reflected in the higher asking price). The Levo has more reviews now than when we made this video and scores very well at an average of 4.88. This is a superior helmet to the others on your list and would be my recommendation if you are happy to stretch to it, the Duke II is the best low-budget option and the Horus sits bang in the middle, offering more than the Duke II without requiring the outlay of the Levo. I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony

    Nothing on Nolan?

    • @sportsbikeshop

      We've based this on customer review ratings and Nolan didn't score well enough to make the list. That surprises me as, personally, I think Nolan's flips are very good - but I've deferred to our customers when compiling this list. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    Looking for the Sharp score on C5

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 года назад +1

      It's not been SHARP tested yet, and I would expect at least another year before any SHARP rating is released. So far in 2022, SHARP have released ratings for 10 helmets that we sell. On average, those 10 helmets had been on the market for 29.4 months before the ratings came out. The quickest release was 17 months, so if the C5 matches that we'll see its SHARP rating in summer 2023. It took 33 months for the Schuberth C4 Pro rating to be released, though, so if the C5 takes as long then we'll see the rating in August 2024. However, the C5 is rated to ECE 22.06 and many aspects of SHARP have been incorporated in that standard so I would expect any 22.06 helmet to be a high performer in SHARP. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
