  • Teriparatide is a parathyroid hormone analogue used to reduce risk of bone fractures in osteoporosis.
    It is given by subcutaneous injection once daily. It results in intermittent action that stimulates bone formation. Therefore, it increases bone mass. It an cause orthostatic hypotension and hypercalcemia. Risk of kidney stones may be increased due to hypercalciuria.
