"You'll never be able to walk again," "You'll be a nursing case," and "You'll never be able to move anything again" - these were the first prognoses that Jessica, who was incompletely paraplegic, heard after her riding accident in September 2014. But the young woman was not deterred and fought to be able to walk again despite her paralyzed legs. With the C-Brace® orthosis system from Ottobock, this is now possible for her again. The C-Brace® orthosis system
The C-Brace® orthosis system has been specially developed for users whose legs are paralysed - whether for stroke patients, people suffering from pediatric paralysis (poliomyelitis) or people suffering from incomplete spinal paraplegia after an accident.
The sensors integrated in the joint determine where the leg is currently located and in which direction it will move.
They convert the entire movement data (acceleration, knee angle, etc.) into a model that is processed in the microprocessor. Depending on what the user wants to do, the built-in hydraulics switch to the correct resistance. In this way, it takes on the task of the thigh muscle. Whether walking on stairs, accelerating, slowing down or sitting down, the joint knows what to do before the user actually moves.

immer weiter machen !! kenne das sehr gut, wenn die ärzte sagen, du wirst nie wieder dies, nie wieder das können wirst. selbst 10 Jahre nach meinem Unfall merke ich, dass immer noch mehr geht! Es bleibt ein lebenslanges Abenteuer :)
Starke Frau! Meine 19 Jährige Freundin hatte vor kurzem einen schlimmen Genickbruch und kämpft aktuell in der Reha damit wieder Funktion in den Fingern und in den Beinen zu bekommen. Deine Worte geben sehr viel Mut, da die Ärzte leider oft sehr negativ reden obwohl nichts wirklich sicher ist und sie die Hoffnung nicht aufgibt.
