I did this. It was really fun. There were about 25 of us. Each person had an assigned name and number. Some weren't allowed to drink, and others got so drunk. It is required to have someone drive you home. Did the breathalyzer every 2 hours. There were also volunteers that would stand by the restroom doors, just in case there's a problem. We got fed, had snacks, and met some awesome people lol.
@NikkStick it depends on your state and the city. So for an example other agencies from different cities had to go to one city to get the DUI training.
@Jennifer Manning lol, it's definitely fun, and I think different agencies do different things. They had card games and board games. There was a "bar" area. They measured the alcohol by ounces if it was liquor, and they tracked how many cans of beer. Then at the end, the police officers came and did field sobriety tests on us
When I was 17 I got my first and only DUI. I rec'd a diversion. I had to go to a weekend "alcohol" class. Sat next to a super cool dude who happened to be the State Middleweight Arm Wrestling Champ. On the 2nd an final day, one guy in class who was always running his mouth, kept interrupting a Sheriff who was demonstrating a field sobriety test. The sheriff called him up and performed the field sobriety test on him. Dude was drunk! Immediately was arrested taken out and lost his diversion. lol ....what a weekend.
That would be so much fun and I’m all for anything that helps with DUIs. My friend’s 22 year old sister was killed by a drunk driver on New Years Eve. She had a toddler who now is without their mother all because a selfish woman chose to drive home drunk rather than getting a ride or staying out. There is absolutely NEVER a reason to drive while under the influence. End of story.
That's kinda messed up to say that you know.. I'm gonna assume you don't know any proper alcoholics and see how much they ruin their lives, even the ones that don't drink and drive. AA's goal is to teach healthy coping habits for stress instead of using alcohol any time you get triggered. Most of those people are very traumatized and are drinking to run/hide from something. I know you were likely trying to be funny. But it's not funny.

@@ralfzacherl9942 I don't have knowledge about it brother because I didn't live in US. However watching many videos from US involving police officers I had seen some of then using it.

DUI'S are not just for drinking. Why didn't they have volunteers to take benadry or the ones who get a prescription medicine from doctors, because they'll give you a dui for that as well. Use your 5th amendment right & shut up. Their test are made for you to fail either way, don't take the test period unless you like helping them give you a dui even if your sober cause they will.

afterwards they were beaten and given a ticket for being drunk in public
I'm surprised budweiser didn't sponsor this event since it was in St. Louis.
Reporter is a baddie
I did this in Ohio once years ago.
They should recruit from AA meetings

Can we sleep with any of the officers after we’re done?
should have used a medium and put a couple sober people in there too actually test them
Driving to MO to volunteer, but someone get me an Uber when we're finished 😂
Your Uber will probably have have cool flashing lights on it, LOL they take you to jail on public intoxication afterwards
@@dave-and-ava-outdoors LOL never thought about that, it's a trap! 🤣

In most countries, the suspicion of being drunk is enough to make a breathalyzer test. Don't you have those in the US?

Everybody knows it isn't everyone driving drunk, it is the same few people over and over. The rest is just a money scam.
@darthvader8253 What a brilliant counter point. I can see where you got the idea for this insult.
This looks like a lot of fun! Become drunk and cry.
lmao
This is the goofiest country in the world
But what happens if you take them home and then they go and drink and drive lol. Guess the training wasn't over lol.
"every drunk driver I arrest saves a life". GTFOH man
Don’t be a sour puss
This sounds like fun lol
