110 Impressions in 9 minutes by David Howard Thornton

- Hello! My name is David Thornton and I am an aspiring voice over actor in NYC with a few animated projects under my belt. I have a repertoire of well over 200 character impressions and 25 dialects that is ever expanding. I thought I would share some of those with you all, so I narrowed them down to 110 impressions of various cartoon characters and celebrities. Why? Because I like to go one step further (plus it was almost the end of 2010 when this was recorded and I thought that was fitting as well... but I digress!). I attempted to do this rapid fire hence why some are not as spot on as the usually are, though there are some edits since this was done in 2 takes because of various interruptions during the filming.
If you would like to utilize my talents, feel free to contact me at david_thornton79@yahoo.com! Feel free to pass this along to anyone you feel would be interested in utilizing my talents as well! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and thanks for listening! Развлечения
Your portrait of Art The Clown was simply epic. Stunning performance and I really enjoyed the movie. Art will be up there with Leatherface, Michael, Freddy and Jason. No doubt.
Thanks! Here's hoping!
carlippo182 let’s not go nuts here
@@eliminatorjr what you mean? if anything this comment is inaccurate. Terrifier is the greatest horror movie of all time.

@@morotaka79 will be ....? HE IS up there in my eyes. Here's to more like Art or hopefully art just takes them all out w/ a grin
David Thornton: A voice actor
Art the clown: doesnt speek
(very good acting btw)
Watched "Terrifier" last night. Quite a brutal watch, even for this lifelong horror buff, but I have to commend you on such an outstanding performance. You made dozens of bold and fabulous choices in your physicality and facial expressions, it was a pleasure to watch you work. Can't wait to see what's next!
Robert R thanks man! That means a lot! Tell your friends because we definitely intend to make more!
David Thornton I am on it, my friend!
I agree. I have watched horror my whole life and that movie really bothered me. Probably because so money people who seemed pretty decent died in really horrible ways (I wonder if they might have survived following Zombieland rule #2 Double Tap) and because
(courtesy spoiler warning for those who haven't seen it)
basically the villain won in the end. That doesn't necessarily always bother me, but in this case it really did for some reason. I also kind felt maybe the supernatural angle came out of nowhere. Personal feelings aside, well done on being one of the creepiest clowns I have ever seen anywhere at any time. I love clowns and unlike most am not in any way inherently frightened of them even when they are creepy/evil, (Big lifelong Joker) but if I met that one I'd be terrified.
@@morotaka79YOU ARE NOW A HORROR LEGEND MY FRIEND! Keep up the great job and i can't wait for a complete trilogy!
@@morotaka79 watching terrifier 2 now
I can’t reconcile with the fact that your greatest asset is your voice, yet you became a legendary icon who is a mime. That’s insane and speaks to how multifaceted your talent is. Keep it up man!!!
Your performance in Terrifier as Art The Clown scared me to death! I knew you had to be equally funny, as scary. I'm not scared of clowns but dude you scared the crap out of me! Your impressions are amazing! Keep up the great work 😉
Thanks so much! I plan on it!
Wow!!! Your ability to jump into different impressions so quickly is very impressive! I love this!
Thanks!
Cannot wait for Terrifer 3! You are a very talented man! 👏 you put the ART in Artist...no pun intended 😂
Oh
My
God.
Art the clown has a RUclips channel 😂😂😂 I LOVE THIS!
Anyways did a great job voicing a lot of characters maybe one day in the future you become a great voice actor! Keep it up, David!
watching this after Terrifier 2 came out is the best thing
Your performance as Art the Clown is one of my favorite performances of all time in any movie. I haven't felt so hypnotized by watching someone act since Heath Ledger playing the Joker. Congratulations!
How is art the clown silent with this much talent?
I find it so interesting how a skilled impressionist and voice delivery actor could also be so chilling and enthralling as a completely silent character like Art the clown. Great work!
Like the impressions! No wonder they chose you to play Art! Looking forward to a sequel. I think you're on your way, if not there already, to being a cult classic.
HAD to look you up after watching Terrifier!!! Such talent, man!!! Such an irony that the first video I find is of you VOICE acting, hahaha! Congrats! Loved your Art!
I know, right? The real irony is that I do voice acting... for kid shows! I live a charmed life.
Hi David. You are quickly becoming a 'keep an eye on me' rising character actor. I love your artistic choices with Art the Clown. Your nuanced portrayal and facial expressions left a lot to unravel and your eyes acted out your back story in a way that left me hungry for more. I put you on my top three psychological performances of the year alongside James McAvoy in SPLIT and with Bill Skaarsgaard in IT. Just like them you are brave and talented enough to reach the darkest of places. I can't wait to see more from you as Art a you cement yourself up there with the greatest of horror icons :)
Thanks so very much! I appreciate the kind words! Here is hoping Hollywood takes notice and gives me more opportunities! Nevertheless, expect to see more Art no matter what! :)
David Thornton You're most welcome David. I will share the hell out of your stuff. Anything to drum up support for one of the greatest killer clown interpretations on screen. :)
that clown in "terrifier" was so damn creepy, i actually had nightmares after watching it last night. and im someone who's been saying for years that i don't find scary movies scary. i can count on one hand what scary movies i find scary: the conjuring, 1408, and now terrifier.
the whole scene where art the clown gets the motherly hug from that crazy woman and he starts sucking on his thumb, it just shows how much mental issues he has and that he has a lot of hate and pain in his heart. i would love to see a sequel to the terrifier, maybe more backstory on art the clown and how he got to be this way.
Thanks dude!
This video is 100x funnier when you remember the character he’s most famous for playing doesn’t talk
You are a genuinely fun guy lol 😂 loved you as art man! Can’t wait to see you get back in the saddle for part 2.
I cant believe you are art the clown. He seemed so real to me. Good job bro.
LOL! Acting, my friend! Acting!
David Thornton Those teeth! Whooooohooo. Arts teeth were no joke..seeing you doing these voices and then Art is surreal. OSCAR nomination right here for real.
If Art could talk, his laugh would probably sound a lot like your Elmo impression haha. But your movie's on Netflix and I absolutely loved it! People were right when they said you made Pennywise look childish. Can't wait to see what's in store next!
So I just watched Terrifier and you were so scary!! It's amazing to me that you were such a force of fear, but you didn't make a sound. I think that's what got me the most *besides that terrifying grin* Well done!!
Terrifier is now my number 1 movie.
I have to give you mad props my brethren your performance of art the clown was awesome. You nailed it and didn't speak one word in the movie and that is what makes you a great actor. I have become a huge fan of that movie because of your performance. Hope to see you in another terrifier movie.
Thanks so much! You will! :)
Man this is AWESOME from one impressionist to another Great Work an love you in the Terrifier movies
Haha dude I love impressions as much as I love Horror movies. You’re so adorable. Art the clown is my newest obsession. Your performance is epic dude!
Hey David - your high energy and vivid expression comes through in your voice vid as well as your Art the Clown. I predict good things ahead... keep up the great work. Onward!
Why thank you! I intend to keep moving onward!
Had to come and check this out after our interview last night! Excellent job man you nailed it
Thanks so much dude!
You're an amazing actor i loved the terrifier movie, art is actually one of the most terrifying characters I've ever seen, good job
Art the clown was terrifying and hilarious! More please!!
we plan on it!
i love this. i can imagine you doing impressions while dressed as art between takes cracking people up. your performance as art is the most enjoyable horror movie villain i've ever seen. ive seen a lot of horror but im not crazy about it. but its your stillness, gestures, playfulness and facial expressions. my favorite scene was the restaurant scene. the scariest parts where when people got close to your character and actually touched him, i was holding my breath.
LOL! Thanks! I did indeed do a lot of impersonations on set in costume. Probably the creepiest was doing Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy dressed like that.
@@morotaka79 it's you XD thanks for your reply. :) to hear those voices come out of that clown face, would be amazing. it would be great to see or hear about more behind the scene happenings and bloopers too. as much of a maniac as you were as him, when he would wave, i was compelled to wave back. lol i enjoyed the non verbal aspect. also, are you able to do any Invader Zim character impressions?
I've never attempted those, oddly enough.
@@morotaka79 Awesome! Lol
Hi david! I think you played art perfectly in terrifier and I'm so excited for terrifier 2.
Keep up the good work.
Hi David you are the scariest clown ever! You're my fave, I look forward to seeing more of your movies. Great impressions btw 😉
Thanks so much!
This is awesome! Great impressions!
Our little David has grown up!
SOOO TALENTED ! YOUR GONNA GO FAR !
Here's hoping!
Great impressions man, I enjoyed it. Awesome talent.
I just finished watching the Terrifier on Netflix and all I have to say is you're awesome!
Truly a gifted actor. Love Terrifier. You are amazing.
This is incredible!
Can’t wait for Terrifier 2! You were great in it!
Ok, I'm glad we looked you up on You Tube because now Art won't give me nightmares. My daughter and I are watching Terrifier (her choice of movie) your fantastic!!
You are so amazing!!!
Wow! You nailed all of them! 🤩
Phenomenal work as "Art the clown"! Scariest clown to date in horror movie history, well done!
Thanks so much!
Just finished watching all Hallows eve and the terrifier and I must say that you are an amazing actor. Keep up the good work.
All Hallows Eve was a different actor, but I definitely prefer David in Terrifier.
That is absolutely impressing how you can change your voices into so maney characters that quick I love them especially in terrifier and terrifier 2 you were so stunning and definitely gave me sevral scares throughout the movie one of the best movies I've seen❤
Finally finding your RUclips these are great!!
Omg I love this all your preferences are a work of art
Hey mate - just seen the trailer for Terrifier 2 and we can't wait to see it over here!! Loved the first one, I've waited years for someone to come along and truly master a proper terrifying clown in a movie....you sir are that man...clown...nutcase....thing.
Anyway, I know the creator is contemplating a 3rd instalment to make it a trilogy, awesome idea....we don't want to know too much about Arts back story as it takes away the mystique he brings. So, keep up the great work my man!! Sending best wishes from your ever-growing fanbase over in Scotland UK
its me from insta, subbed here to just to see more of your content and not disappointed, this was amazing and hilarious
I have loved horror films my whole life and when i watched Terrifier i was blown away.Looking forward to seeing part Two and more future work from Dave.
Thanks so much! You are going to LOVE part 2!
@@morotaka79 We do :)
You are absolutely so talented
I just finished Terrifier and I'm blown away. I can't remember another villain that was so charismatic and terrifying at the same time without ever even speaking a single word. Your acting was amazing !
This is like reliving my childhood all over again! 😂
Hey David.. Yesterday watched Terrifier movie in Netflix... Really got terrified.. Such a mind blowing performance... Looking forward to see more of your work...
It’s hard to think this is the same guy who plays art the clown has absolutely fantastic
Love this I do impersonations as well and loved you in terrifier they would be crazy not to put u in the sequel David u kicked ass in it this Texas fan loved it 🤘
Pretty damn incredible!
You doing a host's speach in Clown Cafe from Terrifier 2 was amazing! Had no idea at the time you can do so much with your voice lol
didn't expect my mind to be blown to smithereens this fine morning 🤯❤
Wow! Bravo, David.
David wow you are very talented and put so much work into all the voices! I wish I knew how to do at least one voice. Anyways hope you get discovered by many producers because I loved your Character as art. To be honest I didn't think the movie would be good or even scary but it was amazing! So glad I gave the movie a chance. Keep up the good work
Thanks so much! :)
Arttttttttttt! Great great job sir. Well done. Look forward to seeing the next installment and hopefully dive deeper into Arts back story. I'm wondering if Art is tied in some way to the building he does most of his torture in, or the crazy lady carrying the creepy baby doll....perhaps Art is linked to the doll and that this lady is or was is mom.
interesting ideas true or not.
YOU ARE TRULY SICK!!!...LOL...LOVE IT!!!
David you rock!
David just amazing!
You're awesome...so talented! Love your rendition of Herbert the pervert but you killed the role of Art the Clown...wow!! Truly terrifying.
Thank you!
I just love him ❤ watching this was fun
Why thank you!
@@morotaka79Hope you come to Crypticon in Seattle! 🤩
Wow! I'm flattered! My first marriage proposal! Thanks!
Art the clown was creepiest when in the pizza parlor.. Good job
Fantastic!
Amazing!
Wow!!! Amazing! I'm even more amazed reading the comment section and realizing you're also Art The Clown!!! Very talented. Keep it up bro!!!
LOL! I know right? Pretty ironic since I am most well known for not speaking!
Lol exactly what I was thinking.
I watched Terrifier and I dont like horrors. But i couldn't help but notice that the actor impersonating the killer clown was a top class actor, mime, with incredible mimicry and phisicity notwithstanding heavy make up. Had this guy been born 15/20 years earlier he would have been a Jim Carrey or even more. Bad years for truly talented people. In every industry.
Loved them all crazy good!
And with all that impressive voice range impressions, your most known role is clown that doesn't talk at all? Cute though, I like it. And Art the Clown is really becoming a cult horror villain which is saying a lot. 💗
Barney Fife was on point!! Wow all these are amazing but Barney felt so real 😂
That was very entertaining.
Fantastic impressions!
all the hard work paid off you made it
Haha this is amazing!
You are so talented !! ❤
Wow ! This was amazing! 😂 I love em all! Especially ur family guy impressions 😂 I myself do a pretty decent stewie griffin lol I love ur take as Art the clown by the way , can't wait to see you in Terrifier 3!!
David Tornton is to Art the Clown as Robert Englund is to Freddy Kreuger. David played Art so convincingly. I tend to stay away from slasher movies, I'm more of a supernatural horror viewer, but it was something alluring about the trailer that made me watch both All Hallows Eve and Terrifier.
You are the best david howard thornton I love you
Wow!!!! 👍👍👍
Truely talented! 👏 🔥
Watched Terrifier for the second time today, So amazing, yet so scary! It was by far the best horror movie I've seen
I cant wait for terrifier 2!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you that some are not as perfect as I wish. A lot of that stems from doing each voice back to back in rapid succession (plus I had just gotten over having a case of bronchitis and only had 1 day left on the road to record this). Maybe one day, I will make a newer one and take more time with each voice.
That joker is epic!
He is extremely talented 👏
I didn't realize you did impressions or had a youtube channel. I would of subbed years ago. Alot of your impressions are on point! If I'd of known you did Beavis and butthead, I would of did my butthead impression when I met you friday 😆 keep it up man!
you are the best david!! i love the terrifier movies and im going to watch the grinch movie u did!
So impressive!
Rising star!
Watched terrifier , the camera angles and just scene atmosphere was pretty terribly low budget, BUT YOU LITERALLY PLAYED THE BEST HORROR VILLIAN I HAVE EVER SEEN, From the creepy smile and faces you were the best I have ever seen
Thank you? LOL! As for the camera angles etc, that was actually on purpose as a throwback/homage to the old B-movies/slashers of the 70's and 80's. We even downgraded the visuals to give it an older look. But thanks for the compliments! That means a lot!
David Thornton definitely the scariest horror villian, please ask to star in more movies, you’re did amazing
David Thornton as for the movie looks, I should have realized that, I’m a horror buff and I have seen literally every horror movie I can watch, but again you have been the scariest, even had a nightmare the night after 😂
The first time I saw art I became a big fan. Art has so much humor but doesn't utter a word. Name one silent killer that uses facial expressions to taunt his enemies. Hands down, your more terrifying than Freddy Krueger and all the others.
Out of curiosity, because I'm a nerd when it comes to acting and preparation: when you're faced with an enigmatic character like Art, do you prepare a backstory that helps justify/inform your performance, or do you give yourself up to the requirements of the script and not think too much about the "why"?
Oh I definitely prep as much as possible on such characters. Villains, especially are interesting to me since there is something that makes them the way they are and has led them to where they are at that point in time.
This is very true. And unlike some heroes, villains always know exactly what they want, which makes them fun and attractive for the audience. Brava!
