I love EasySubli and would use first. They are different products with the same goal. EasySubli is a vinyl. Subli-Mate is a fabric. The EasySubli is better at cutting intricate shapes/designs and you don’t have to worry about it fraying/shedding. The Subli-Mate is a viable alternative. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it with very dark colored items. I’ve had most success with lighter colors. It almost blends in with the base color...which could be because of it’s lightweight/thinness.
Great video. Although after watching this demonstration I don’t think Subli-Mate fabric is worth the cost. Subli-Mate fabric Is too experience (CRAZY $$$$$ for a few sheets) with all it’s limitations. Can’t cut Medium medium to small letters, outer cutting around images are limited, and colors do not pop. This is not the first video demonstrating Subli-Mate fabric and neither one change my mind. Best sublimation hack for dark colors is to use EasySubli which will provide those colors to standout. Yes, even EasySubli is way over priced, but not limited to cutting and will have vivid colors compared to Subli-Mate fabric. Overall, I. Did enjoy watching your video. Again, great job 😎
Again, thank you for such an informative video!! This question is a little off topic but I'm wondering if you can sublimate a plate (sublimation of course) in a convection oven? Have you tried? If so, did it work and could you do a video on it, please? Thanks
You can design in Silhouette and save as an svg or png and then upload it to Cricut Design Space...you need the Business or Designer's Edition of Silhouette.
So if you sublimate and dont do a print and cut you will end up with a 8.5 x 11 white square on your tshirt land Ln image? Im not into that white sqaure at all.
Hi, thank you for the review. I bought the sheets and tried it on a black 100% cotton shirt. I have my video posted on their channel as a review, it's the California license plate shirt. It's true about cutting straight lines or circle images works better. I love the outcome. I like the feel of the fabric compared to a printable transfer paper, it feels more light weight and seems more breathable. I haven't tried easysubli because of price wise but I think this is one of the best ways for dark cotton shirts. Do you think you'll get the same results if you cure the ink under a press, that way you don't have to wait for an hour?
So, I have cured it under the press for a few minutes and I got good results also. I let it sit under for about 10 minutes. I've sold a few shirts using it and my customers were thrilled with them..even after washing.
@@CraftableThings Wow, that is awesome. I have a tiktok and love to try out things. I tried sublimating onto a thermal laminated sheet on cotton light color shirts, and the colors were amaizing and was intact after washing but the feel was like opening a bag of chips LOL! Maybe it can be use for another idea. Just wanted to share incase you have another way of using my method. Thank you for responding .
I purchased the sheets. It subbed well, however, it's a beast to cut. I washed the shirt and nothing happened to the image. The paper size is too small also.
@@CraftableThings Thank you so much! Ok so to clarify the background would NOT be the same color as the shirt if it appears transparent in the design space?
I love you, I do but you are not subbing a dark shirt you are subbing a sheet and pressing the sheet onto the shirt. Dye sub can ONLY be done on a poly or poly blend substrate. The appeal of dye sub is the feel on the fabric, there is none. There are many products like this one that can be printed on that leave a soft feel on the garment and can be done with an ink jet or other printer. While I appreciate the honest review and testing, this IS NOT Dye Sub on Dark Fabrics like the video title states.
Hi Sharon! I don’t disagree with you at all. I tried to explain as thorough as possible in the video that subbing onto these items is not possible and why. In the video, I also advise that you are subbing onto the sheet/fabric and simply pressing it into the shirt. I updated the title to say HACK, which I intended to do as I did in my Easy Subli video. So, thanks for the reminder. This is not true sublimation...whether with this product, Easy Subli, Glitter, Laminate Sheets or anything else that we use to get images onto products via sublimation inks and subbing onto another item and then using it on something that is incapable of taking the process. I have tried other transfer products with regular/pigment ink and, truthfully, they do not last long at all. The colors fade, they start to peel. This product does not peel after washing. It is a fabric.
It’s a fabric. I actually like the product. The colors look great. I have used these sheets a few times. Those items still look great and have held up with washing. I’ll post pics in the community section. I have a live showing this product and the colors looked great then.
Patrice... Honestly which would you pick between the EasySubli or Subli Mate?

Thank you for this review. My husband said “you said exactly how it is & what it is. No gimmicks & just the truth. You are a sensei”.
You're so welcome! ☺️
Thank you for explaining why sublimation doesn't work on dark shirts your the only video I've found that explains that makes alot of sense!
Hey Olivia! Thanks so much for watching 💕
Great tutorial!!! Thank you for all the details!! I think the colors on the cut one are more vibrant also. Great job girl!!!
Thank you!!!

How do you prevent it for jamming in your printer, ugh...I have a 7720
I can't wait to try this soon!!!! 😁😊😉
I love their stuff
Me, too! 💕
Hello, I'm new to your channel and new to sublimation. Thank you so much for sharing.
Welcome & Thank you, Jill
Can you do this be done without a Cricut and not have a white background?
Again, thank you for such an informative video!! This question is a little off topic but I'm wondering if you can sublimate a plate (sublimation of course) in a convection oven? Have you tried? If so, did it work and could you do a video on it, please? Thanks
Hi Beverly! I haven't tried it. Now, I need to look for some. 😁
Good video thanks ❤
Is subli Mate the same as Easysubli?
Nope…it is different. Subli Mate are fabric sheets. Easy Subli is vinyl
@@CraftableThings ok awesome, thxs much, appreciate you🙏🏽
Thanks for information
Thanks for watching!!!
What setting do you use to cut the subli mate paper on the cricut machine
Do you have to cut the design? Can you just put the whole page on the shirt and press?
Yes, you can! You don’t have to cut it. It’s not transparent, though.
and if print it with black background?
it is white fabric. It is not transparent. If you put a color behind your image, that's what will print. Thanks for watching.
such a helpful video
Based on this video does it mean i cant use it with my explorer?
I'm a year behind seeing this lol. I'm trying to find a alternative to easisubli due to cost. Is this still good
hi, I'm not sure if I missed it in the video but may I ask where you got the image from?

When you put the design over the one you cut out with machine, the white border didn't show. That's great, but how come? Thks
What is the benefit of using an easysubli onto dark cotton versus dark colored heat transfer paper and stock ink?
I think you asked this same question under another video. It's answered there. The reason applies to all items like this.
Hi! What or which type of printer did you print the image from ?
an epson printer that was converted into a sublimation printer.
@@CraftableThings the image didn’t look as if infused to the fabric. Was the material a vinyl?
I’m new to the t shirt making biz. This seems like a similar process as heat transfer paper. Is the outcome better or about the same?
It's similar in application only. This material is actually fabric and doesn't crack over time when washes. Also, the ink used is sublimation ink.
How do you use silhouette on the cricut
You can design in Silhouette and save as an svg or png and then upload it to Cricut Design Space...you need the Business or Designer's Edition of Silhouette.
Is there a link to buy the sub sheets and the cotton sheets?
Hey RIssa...yes, the links are in the description.

Did you mirrored the sublimation paper, not the sublimate the regular one?
Yes, I did.
Is this technically the same as "easy-subli"? I have some and wondered if it's the same
Hmmmm...yes and no. The technique is very similar. The material is very different. Easy Subli is a vinyl and SubliMate is a fabric.
I purchased the sheets. It subbed well, however, it's a beast to cut. I washed the shirt and nothing happened to the image. The paper size is too small also.
Did you cut with a cutter? I had some issues cutting with my Cricut.
could you just use an image with a black background or no background?
Yes, you can. If you use one with no background…the background will just be white.
@@CraftableThings Thank you so much! Ok so to clarify the background would NOT be the same color as the shirt if it appears transparent in the design space?
Right!!! So on a black shirt, it will be white.
It’s not like sublimation paper. It’s an actual white piece of fabric.
