She was already named that when she got to the zoo. he did however manage to identify her sex, then rename her. more important annotation from the episode in question: the reporter sighs and says "if only he was a woman" which upsets his mom and sister. later his paper is featured in an all female science magazine and he seems uncomfortable at the sight of it.
This is literally the single place where people call it headcanon. Everywhere else Trans Danny fans act like this is official, they keep bringing this theory up, starting flame wars and some try to use these overthinked details as evidences and seriously start debates.

Danny wearing a shirt at a water park was not only explained my Butch Hartman himself also alludes to the consequences of his ghost fighting i.e. SCARS. How uncomfortable would it be have everyone who you go to school with see your skin littered with unexplained scars, some could thing suicidal, other his family's abusive and smarter intuitive people would finally make the leap of assumption that Fenton was also Phantom. (I think it was one of the final episodes where Danny was getting upstaged by other ghost hunters. Ima add something. In the episode, "Master's of All Time", Danny goes to an alternate timeline where his dad is single and has no kids. Danny tells him his name, and Jack replys with, "That's a dumb name, why would I ever name my son that?" (or something like that). Now ik what you're thinking: "But Danny was still his name when he was a girl!" But Jack said he would never name his SON that, meaning, Danny's dead name is Dani, or Danielle, and when he decided he was trans, HE chose to call himself Danny. Jack might have wanted to name his daughter that, but not his son.

Do I think he's trans canonically? No. Do I think writers and/or animators sneaked in some allusions to it? Umm... probably not, but I wouldn't outright deny it. I do enjoy the headcanons though and I think it's really interesting what fans can do with it, be it art or fanfics. Fans finding representation for themselves when canon doesn't offer any is a totally cool (and expected) thing to do.

I like this head cannon a lot for some reason? I've seen it a lot and I was like "yes please". And as for the people who say this isn't true and that we're ruining your childhood, you don't have to believe it. its just a theory. we aren't saying its gospel we're just pointing out some things in the show that support it, which doesn't make it true, it just makes it possible.
I agree with most of this except when people say he has to “hide” his ghost identity from his parents, like even if they didn’t always know he was a ghost they still would have known he was trans and supported his transition.
Six years later from this video being posted I just want to say something about this theory and how it changed me as a trans man. About 2 years ago from me posting this I started watching Danny Phantom because of these theories at the time I was really insecure about being transmasc because of how feminine I looked. The more I watched Danny Phantom the more I felt like Danny and could relate to him. About 1 year later of watching the show I came out to my older brother as a trans man and he accepted me. I came out to my parents as well though they did not accept me I still stayed strong as a trans person. Without some silly theory made by the internet I would've never gained the power to come out.
I realized out of nowhere that Danny's personality is the most realistic for my ftm transitioning goals and that same day I discovered on the wiki that there's a theory that he's trans. Now just searching Danny Phantom animatics turns up a detailed video about it. Honestly, it doesn't matter much whether he's trans or not canonical, I feel he is trans in my bones.
There is nothing wrong with being who you are. You don't need to change yourself with chemicals or surgery. Be the person you were born as. "Transitioning" seems to mainly be an unproductive way to cope with personal trauma. There are so many young women questioning their identities. It is important to remember these are the same demographics that are most likely to engage in self-harm and suicide attempts. They need help, not to be told there is an easy fix. Wellbeing is not easy. I hope you can get the help you need by talking to loved ones and friends. It is tragic how many young women are ruining their reproductive organs in an effort to be fulfilled, when one of the most fulfilling things a woman can experience is motherhood. I'm a trans man. I remember when I was a kid (like 8 years old) thinking Danny looked so cool. I totally wanted to look like him. I loved his shirt (both full outfits, TBH) and his hair and face. I especially thought his ghost form was the coolest.
I get this video is a theory, which no offense but I think it's dumb. Trans Danny would be more of an AU than a theory. I don't feel like putting my input on everything but the thing that irritated me was the Butch Hartman thing, he seems to be pretty involved in his shows before they air as you can see in his snapchat where he post screenshots of Fairly Odd Parents episodes before they air.
I have to disagree. There are still many problems with this theory. 1. Butch Hartman (series creator) himself said that Danny has "boy DNA". 2. Hartman did in fact draw and design the characters. 3. Hartman confirmed that Danny was wearing a tank top specifically because he gets sunburned easily. 4. The chest evidence is weak considering this show came out in 2004, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't show a young girl's chest in that era of cartoons. I could go on, but I'm sure this is sufficient for now at least.

As a trans guy, I don't support this theory. The same goes for the "Dipper from Gravity falls is trans because him and his sister look identical and only identical twins can be the same sex" theory. They drew them that way because it's easier, same goes for Phil and Lil from Rugrats, they're only 1, you gonna tell me Phil or Lil are trans. Danny wasn't and never will be a trans male. I never even thought of him to have been a girl before, and I believe in some episodes it showed him as a young boy. He was a 14 year old boy who didn't wear clothes his size. Even for those who argue that when he's in ghost form, it shows what he would want to look like (such as having a flat chest because some believe he has boobs) but no, his ghost form is just him wearing his families ghost hunting outfits but with inverted colors.
Michelle Odius never heard of a theory about one of them being trans. I'm just talking about how, when animating twins, it's easier to have the brother and sister look identical besides what they wear.
My favorite thing about this theory is that everyone in the Danny Phantom universe knows that Danny identifies as male, and they all agree with it, since everyone uses he/him pronouns to talk about him, and they use his “male” name instead of his “deadname”. It’s probably not canon, since I don’t think Butch Hartman would approve of it 🙃
The very fact which Hartman would not approve it is why I will forever advocate for it. Butch Hartman is a crack case and sadly he has created some of my favorite shows. Well before he ruined some of them. So danny= trans man 👍 in my book expecually if Mr Butch disagrees.

But eh, it's just a theory, nothing more XD Although I find it a bit weird that you say that Butch Hartman didn't draw the characters and didn't write the scripts, when he did for at least some episodes, and the original character designs are definetely from him, which explains the similar animation style, across all of his shows (Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, TUFF Puppy).

This is one theory I have to kind of say no to. While it is interesting, there are also facts that go against it. Firstly, Danny has gone into the women's bathroom more than once not just "by accident". Specifically in one episode where he is reclaiming his memories and memories of being a ghost, he is shown going into the girls bathroom with a big happy smirk on his face in ghost form. I don't think a trans male would do that and would "probably" respect the other women to some degree. Also Danny has shown himself naked a few times, one specifically in ghost form wearing whitey tidies =w=. Plus some other random facts you could probably pull as well. While I would love to see a character be transgender, in this case Danny isn't and wasn't supposed to be. He was meant to be a young teenage boy with a slender figure going through odd high school phases and ghost powers. Still, that doesn't mean I won't give props for a decent fan theory. : 3 Maybe someday it'll happen where we get a trans character in film, animation or tv~

When the girl says "I'd tell you to use to men's room but you don't really apply" she is suggesting that because he's weaker then the other guys he's less of a man and more like a boy. Also he looks different in human form because he tends to wear baggy clothes but his ghost form wears a tight jump Suit. So what is the clone is a girl? One clone was a bed sheet over a skeleton torso, one was a Frankenstein stein thing and the other was tiny and glowing. Also "he's not going to save you" wasn't projecting, vlad is an evil prick who would let her destablize after she served her purpose and if you can't change he sex on DNA then how come every other Danny clone was clearly male?. Danny showering alone could just mean he's embarsed or the jocks would Harras him in the shower because he's weak and hangs out with unpopular kid. Butch Hartman created the characters and their personalities, back stories ect. What butch says goes. Also maybe Danny got defensive because A. Genies in pop culture are word twisting tricksters (including this one) and B. He didn't and a freaky, evil ghost lady touching him. He did not name the fucking gorilla, he zookeepers/researchers had already named it. I think you forgot that the whole plot of the show was this nerdy loner kid with 2 friends felt out of place until he became a ghost and had something he could be proud of. That's why he still gets bullied cause everyone thinks he's a loser but he know deep down that he's a bad ass with ghost powers.

As much as I love this headcanon, that’s all it is. Headcanon. I do think trans people deserve representation, however when people reach this far or try to press this kind of ideation on a character not intended for them it can lead to issues. I’m non-binary, so don’t throw transphobe at me for stating this. If you want to believe Danny is trans, fine. I’m ok with people having their own headcanons ^^ As long as you don’t force your headcanon onto the source-canon followers then it’s fine. I’m going to respond to all of the points in this video: 1. His name - Danny was originally going to be named a lot of things when the show was made, all of which being male based names. Danny Phantom just sounded cooler. 2. The water park - Danny has never been a confident teen, he’s just a runty guy like Tucker but the reason why others bully Tucker is for his tech obsession. Meanwhile Danny is picked on for his body quite often during the show and it wouldn’t surprise me if that is why Danny doesn’t shower with the other guys to begin with. They had a shower one day and after the bullies noticed Danny was just puny he decided to never shower with them again. 3. The shower scene - Danny’s got pecks, in fact when the other male characters are shown topless they also have that too. It’s just the style of the show. 4. He runs into the girls bathroom - We have seen Danny run and hide into odd spots to go ghost before. Bathrooms, lockers, closets etc. I doubt he was looking for a gender sign when all he saw was a door that he could hide behind. Also Paulina says “you wouldn’t qualify”, I again think that’s just her being a bitch about his masculinity. Again all the A-listers mock him strictly for that and/or his weird parents. 5. His clothing - He’s wearing baggy clothing, you’re comparing a loose shirt with loose jeans to a skin-tight hazmat suit. Nothing about his body shape actually changes when he goes ghost, it’s just he’s wearing tighter clothing. 6. His clone - All of Danny’s clones were incomplete and/or falling apart. One is literally a skeleton. I imagine Dani’s flaw was that as she was developing as a clone her phenotype remained as it’s default, which is female. Every early developing foetus starts off as biologically female and then develop from there. That explains why she’s female, she’s the default. Your sex is in your chromosomes, even male foetus’ start of phenotypically female despite their DNA stating male. 7. The writers - They just wrote Danny as an awkward teen, I can see the correlations, but it is a very hard reach for it. 8. The Genie - Danny doesn’t know wtf Desiree can do, if some older woman ghost (who was literally a mistress for a sultan) tried to caress my teenage chest. Ew. Wtf? Get away. Male or female, that’s totally weird and she’s an adult, I’m a kid! 9. Gorilla - Danny doesn’t name the Gorilla, the zookeepers did. Also Danny makes quips like that all the time, it’s not like the Gorilla was trans too and they bonded. Overall, I do think that the idea is nice, but I don’t think it has much ground to stand on as a fact. If you want it for your own headcanon, headcanon away, but remember that’s all it is. I do wish we had more trans rep in cartoons 100%, but I’m not going to force representation on a character not intended for that. --- I remember when people said Stan Lee was a transphobe because he said Peter Parker would never be trans in any multiverse. Which is totally fair, that is his character and he didn’t intend for that kind of representation when making Peter. There’s a multi-verse of Spider-men/women, go make your own trans-Spider hero! Make a character for others to look up to and build your own fan base for it! We don’t need to alter perfectly good, well developed characters when there are other bland af characters that would actually need altering. Hell they even changed up Miles Morales’ character in the Spider-Verse films because he needed a thorough redevelopment. Now everyone’s using that as the basis. It doesn't necessarily mean he's changed it from female. 2: I've seen a lot of boys wear shirts in waterparks. It's normal for boys who don't think they're well fit or are just comfortable in them. 3: His chest seems more square than pointy. it was like that because the angle is tilted to the side. 4: Comic relief. He was so stressed and in a hurry that he didn't notice which bathroom he was going into. Gee, there sure is a lot of hate for just stating that a fictional character's gender may not match his biological sex. Are trans people not allowed to try and see themselves in existing characters? It's not like we get much blatant representation that doesn't mock us. This doesn't change Danny Fenton as a character. He's still the awkward, clumsy, heroic teenage boy we all know, love, and probably had a crush on at some point in time. (Be honest with yourself.) All it states is that there is a possibility (note the word "possibility") of him having been assigned female at birth. If your childhood is "ruined" by that, then clearly there is still some growing up to be done.

It isn't really anything against trans people; it's that the theory is argued by such terrible, easily refuted and poor arguments that hold practically no weight in argument. The points are so refutable they are practically begging to be disproven. At least, that's it for me. You can call it an AU and see yourself in the character, I'm perfectly fine with trans people, but it cannot work in the show's universe, an it has been argued in this video with poor evidence. It can be done as an AU, but I would say it is nowhere near plausible enough to be a headcanon.

It's fine to be trans, but when an obvious white straight male in a cartoon show that takes place in the early 2000s is being called trans, it's not fine, it's disrespectful. Plus, literally all of the claims are literal garbage and can be debunked easily. I have to say this, but Danny is literally 100% not trans.
In the 3rd season Danny is shirtless a few times. He's only 15-16 in that one. As awesome as it would be to have a trans cartoon character would be, I don't believe he is. When I was younger I won't change in front of people in the locker room either. I didn't feel confident at all back then about my body. My bio sex and gender are both female. Really hope one day they do have a trans character!
I also believe the chest thing has to do with him not wanting her to see that his heart wants Sam. He's just starting to really realize his feeling for her and isn't ready to admit them yet.
When the assumption that one of the characters of a TV show might be trans ruins your childhood, it says nothing about the assumption, or the TV show. But it does say a lot about your attitude towards other human beings...

Well there was a confirmation on this theory by Butch Hartman (the CREATOR of Danny Phantom) that he isn't trans. The creator gets to decide, not the writers or animators, but luckily, everyone can still make AUs.

I know this is theory and all but I don’t agree with it entirely. You sorta debunked yourself a bit. If his secret ghost identity was supposed to be a hint at him not being comfortable around his parents to share he’s trans that wouldn’t make sense, and I say this because in the first part you said Danny came out when he was young and his parents supported him. And also back in 2004 guys baggy pants and shirts that were a fashion back then so he didn't have wider hips. minor correction. Danny didn't name Delilah "Samson". She was already named that when she got to the zoo. he did however manage to identify her sex, then rename her. more important annotation from the episode in question: the reporter sighs and says "if only he was a woman" which upsets his mom and sister. later his paper is featured in an all female science magazine and he seems uncomfortable at the sight of it.

Danny tells him his name, and Jack replys with, "That's a dumb name, why would I ever name my son that?" (or something like that). Now ik what you're thinking: "But Danny was still his name when he was a girl!" But Jack said he would never name his SON that, meaning, Danny's dead name is Dani, or Danielle, and when he decided he was trans, HE chose to call himself Danny. Jack might have wanted to name his daughter that, but not his son.

Six years later from this video being posted I just want to say something about this theory and how it changed me as a trans man.
About 2 years ago from me posting this I started watching Danny Phantom because of these theories at the time I was really insecure about being transmasc because of how feminine I looked. The more I watched Danny Phantom the more I felt like Danny and could relate to him. About 1 year later of watching the show I came out to my older brother as a trans man and he accepted me. I came out to my parents as well though they did not accept me I still stayed strong as a trans person.
Without some silly theory made by the internet I would've never gained the power to come out.
I realized out of nowhere that Danny's personality is the most realistic for my ftm transitioning goals and that same day I discovered on the wiki that there's a theory that he's trans.
Now just searching Danny Phantom animatics turns up a detailed video about it. Honestly, it doesn't matter much whether he's trans or not canonical, I feel he is trans in my bones.
There is nothing wrong with being who you are. You don't need to change yourself with chemicals or surgery. Be the person you were born as. "Transitioning" seems to mainly be an unproductive way to cope with personal trauma. There are so many young women questioning their identities. It is important to remember these are the same demographics that are most likely to engage in self-harm and suicide attempts. They need help, not to be told there is an easy fix. Wellbeing is not easy. I hope you can get the help you need by talking to loved ones and friends. It is tragic how many young women are ruining their reproductive organs in an effort to be fulfilled, when one of the most fulfilling things a woman can experience is motherhood. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out during difficult times.

I'm a trans man. I remember when I was a kid (like 8 years old) thinking Danny looked so cool. I totally wanted to look like him. I loved his shirt (both full outfits, TBH) and his hair and face. I especially thought his ghost form was the coolest.

Danny wasn't and never will be a trans male. I never even thought of him to have been a girl before, and I believe in some episodes it showed him as a young boy. He was a 14 year old boy who didn't wear clothes his size.
Even for those who argue that when he's in ghost form, it shows what he would want to look like (such as having a flat chest because some believe he has boobs) but no, his ghost form is just him wearing his families ghost hunting outfits but with inverted colors.

My favorite thing about this theory is that everyone in the Danny Phantom universe knows that Danny identifies as male, and they all agree with it, since everyone uses he/him pronouns to talk about him, and they use his “male” name instead of his “deadname”. It’s probably not canon, since I don’t think Butch Hartman would approve of it 🙃

I'm trans and I feel this is too much of a reach. I dislike it when people make fictional characters trans to feed their obsession/fetish/own trans insecurities. This is one theory I have to kind of say no to. While it is interesting, there are also facts that go against it. Firstly, Danny has gone into the women's bathroom more than once not just "by accident". Specifically in one episode where he is reclaiming his memories and memories of being a ghost, he is shown going into the girls bathroom with a big happy smirk on his face in ghost form. I don't think a trans male would do that and would "probably" respect the other women to some degree. Also Danny has shown himself naked a few times, one specifically in ghost form wearing whitey tidies =w=. Plus some other random facts you could probably pull as well. While I would love to see a character be transgender, in this case Danny isn't and wasn't supposed to be. He was meant to be a young teenage boy with a slender figure going through odd high school phases and ghost powers.
Still, that doesn't mean I won't give props for a decent fan theory. : 3 Maybe someday it'll happen where we get a trans character in film, animation or tv~

When the girl says "I'd tell you to use to men's room but you don't really apply" she is suggesting that because he's weaker then the other guys he's less of a man and more like a boy. Also he looks different in human form because he tends to wear baggy clothes but his ghost form wears a tight jump Suit. So what is the clone is a girl? One clone was a bed sheet over a skeleton torso, one was a Frankenstein stein thing and the other was tiny and glowing. Also "he's not going to save you" wasn't projecting, vlad is an evil prick who would let her destablize after she served her purpose and if you can't change he sex on DNA then how come every other Danny clone was clearly male?. Danny showering alone could just mean he's embarsed or the jocks would Harras him in the shower because he's weak and hangs out with unpopular kid. Butch Hartman created the characters and their personalities, back stories ect. What butch says goes. Also maybe Danny got defensive because A. Genies in pop culture are word twisting tricksters (including this one) and B. He didn't and a freaky, evil ghost lady touching him. He did not name the fucking gorilla, he zookeepers/researchers had already named it. I do think trans people deserve representation, however when people reach this far or try to press this kind of ideation on a character not intended for them it can lead to issues.

I’m going to respond to all of the points in this video:
1. His name - Danny was originally going to be named a lot of things when the show was made, all of which being male based names. Danny Phantom just sounded cooler.
2. The water park - Danny has never been a confident teen, he’s just a runty guy like Tucker but the reason why others bully Tucker is for his tech obsession. Meanwhile Danny is picked on for his body quite often during the show and it wouldn’t surprise me if that is why Danny doesn’t shower with the other guys to begin with. They had a shower one day and after the bullies noticed Danny was just puny he decided to never shower with them again.
3. The shower scene - Danny’s got pecks, in fact when the other male characters are shown topless they also have that too. It’s just the style of the show.
4. He runs into the girls bathroom - We have seen Danny run and hide into odd spots to go ghost before. Bathrooms, lockers, closets etc. I doubt he was looking for a gender sign when all he saw was a door that he could hide behind. Also Paulina says “you wouldn’t qualify”, I again think that’s just her being a bitch about his masculinity. Again all the A-listers mock him strictly for that and/or his weird parents.
5. His clothing - He’s wearing baggy clothing, you’re comparing a loose shirt with loose jeans to a skin-tight hazmat suit. Nothing about his body shape actually changes when he goes ghost, it’s just he’s wearing tighter clothing.
6. His clone - All of Danny’s clones were incomplete and/or falling apart. One is literally a skeleton.
I imagine Dani’s flaw was that as she was developing as a clone her phenotype remained as it’s default, which is female. Every early developing foetus starts off as biologically female and then develop from there. That explains why she’s female, she’s the default. Your sex is in your chromosomes, even male foetus’ start of phenotypically female despite their DNA stating male.
7. The writers - They just wrote Danny as an awkward teen, I can see the correlations, but it is a very hard reach for it.
8. The Genie - Danny doesn’t know wtf Desiree can do, if some older woman ghost (who was literally a mistress for a sultan) tried to caress my teenage chest. Ew. Wtf? Get away. Male or female, that’s totally weird and she’s an adult, I’m a kid!
9. Gorilla - Danny doesn’t name the Gorilla, the zookeepers did. Also Danny makes quips like that all the time, it’s not like the Gorilla was trans too and they bonded.
Overall, I do think that the idea is nice, but I don’t think it has much ground to stand on as a fact.
If you want it for your own headcanon, headcanon away, but remember that’s all it is.
I do wish we had more trans rep in cartoons 100%, but I’m not going to force representation on a character not intended for that.

1: His name is Daniel. It doesn't necessarily mean he's changed it from female.
2: I've seen a lot of boys wear shirts in waterparks. It's normal for boys who don't think they're well fit or are just comfortable in them.
3: His chest seems more square than pointy. it was like that because the angle is tilted to the side.
4: Comic relief. He was so stressed and in a hurry that he didn't notice which bathroom he was going into. Also, Paulina said that in a mocking way because he wasn't "fit" and is a "loser" and doesn't act like the jocks.

6: We've come to know that cartoons don't usually follow common logic. I don't think anyone can actually clone a half ghost human. Therefore anything could happen. Dani also was 12 and Danny was 14. No genetics stuff unless something went wrong. Like so.
7: No, they have to go back to the creators of course! Butch is the creator, I doubt someone would want to change HIS OWN SHOW behind his back.
8: He was scared of her and in alert around Desiree. If she touched him on his shoulders, his head, anywhere, he would have reacted the same way. Also, if was revealed that Danny's best dream in Frightmare was to end up with Sam. So BOOP.
9: Boy means as in human.
10: He doesn't name her Samson. He renames her and he claims that she needs privacy because she just got out of a fight and she actually showed them her part for God's sake.

@@beccAurora god where do I start. Danny Fenton... Who has formally been called Daniel by Vlad and others. While the name can be a gender Neutral name, It also implies it can be one or the other. Literally nothing to pick out there and it's just reaching.
2. The wearing a shirt thing. Ever think that it could be shy about his body? He's a teenager and alot of the other dudes are buff. When I go swimming, I wear a shirt... Guess what, I'm cis. But I'm Also heavy set. But even when I wasn't, I wear a shirt. it's literally just a guy thing. not all of us go shirtless. Another reach.
3. The stylistic choice of the "Pointed" chest. Clearly it's meant to be a slight peck especially since his arms are raised his chest would point out a bit.. Consider that in other scenes, it is flat. Also the thing of not showering with the other guys. Look at the picture they put up. What do you see in the background? A dude laughing at him and more are behind him. So it's obvious that the reason he doesn't, is because the other guys tease him and bully him and being naked around bullies is probably the worst thing that can happen. Another reach and ignorant tbh.
4. The bathroom scene... Its LITERALLY A GAG. like their stupid thing of "No one will do this ever... unless they're trans!! no other explanation!!"... OR, much more likely... This individual is ignorant of tropes and gags from that age. Walking into the girls restroom by accident is literally a gag. Nothing more. 6. Female clone.... X-23. Boom her whole argument is made stupid. It's a work of fiction and in real life clones can't have altered sex, but y'know what's great? Gee, there sure is a lot of hate for just stating that a fictional character's gender may not match his biological sex. Are trans people not allowed to try and see themselves in existing characters? It's not like we get much blatant representation that doesn't mock us. This doesn't change Danny Fenton as a character. He's still the awkward, clumsy, heroic teenage boy we all know, love, and probably had a crush on at some point in time. (Be honest with yourself.) All it states is that there is a possibility (note the word "possibility") of him having been assigned female at birth. If your childhood is "ruined" by that, then clearly there is still some growing up to be done.

It isn't really anything against trans people; it's that the theory is argued by such terrible, easily refuted and poor arguments that hold practically no weight in argument. The points are so refutable they are practically begging to be disproven. At least, that's it for me. You can call it an AU and see yourself in the character, I'm perfectly fine with trans people, but it cannot work in the show's universe, an it has been argued in this video with poor evidence. It can be done as an AU, but I would say it is nowhere near plausible enough to be a headcanon.

In the 3rd season Danny is shirtless a few times. He's only 15-16 in that one. As awesome as it would be to have a trans cartoon character would be, I don't believe he is. When I was younger I won't change in front of people in the locker room either. I didn't feel confident at all back then about my body. My bio sex and gender are both female. Really hope one day they do have a trans character!
I also believe the chest thing has to do with him not wanting her to see that his heart wants Sam. He's just starting to really realize his feeling for her and isn't ready to admit them yet.

The only showers ive shared were in the military, but that wasn't optional. I have also had boobs before, mostly through highschool. I don't understand why theorists always have to pair their theories up with actual IRL logic when in reality, IT'S JUST A CARTOON. Things don't have to match up to logic in the cartoon universe. The reason why human Danny has the look of wider hips is because Butch said in his how to draw Danny Phantom video, he said that danny wears oversize clothing. So that means he's skinnier when he's wearing a jumpsuit. I don't agree that he's trans.

Well there was a confirmation on this theory by Butch Hartman (the CREATOR of Danny Phantom) that he isn't trans. The creator gets to decide, not the writers or animators, but luckily, everyone can still make AUs.

It can’t be true if there’s literal people who made the show saying it isn’t, but I still love it so much. Maybe it can be an AU or something? But whenever I watch the show I like to tell myself he is trans even though he isn’t... it makes me really happy, because I’m trans and it gives me so much confidence. I know this is theory and all but I don’t agree with it entirely. You sorta debunked yourself a bit. If his secret ghost identity was supposed to be a hint at him not being comfortable around his parents to share he’s trans that wouldn’t make sense, and I say this because in the first part you said Danny came out when he was young and his parents supported him. I don’t know that wasn’t quite linking up for me. Again, I support all your opinions on this I just personally don’t feel like he’s trans. :)

Sorry hunny but Danny Phantom is not trans. you forgot the Christmas episode when the parents showed a flash back about Danny when he was a baby and the parents say "him" and "he". he was born male! And also back in 2004 guys baggy pants and shirts that were a fashion back then so he didn't have wider hips. (I was in my teens back then) and as for the female clone Dani, she was supposed to be an opposite gender (gender swap) of Danny and Vlad screwd the gender part up. please do more research more before you assume by this great cartoon.

This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I definitely support the idea that he's trans. I'm a trans man and I wanted to look like Danny as a kid. I also remember REALLY loving the Sam character. I just thought she was so cool. I also wanted to look like her, but only in terms of her outfits. I didn't want her face, lol (I wanted Danny's). No wonder I grew up and became emo, punk, and goth. No, mom it's being alternative is not a phase for me! I've always loved it! Anywho, jokes aside, I'm just a trans man who got gender envy from Danny while also wanting to dress alternative as a kid.
