Konami can fix the leak problem by first fixing their scummy product problem. Wouldn't have to hide information about your sets if you actually did the right thing in the first place. It's disingenuous to have two sets that are essentially one.
Konami censorship is ridiculous. Once leaks are out, they're out. By all means, let them hunt down the leak and punish them at the source, but to try and threaten anyone beyond that is disgusting. Like you, I think it's 100% disingenuous to not discuss it once it's out in the open as it is important to pass the knowledge on to the community as they're the ones who matter. Thanks for doing this video and not shying away from it Jon. You're a true one.
Bonanza’s reveals proved what others and myself were saying about the tins was right: was released simply to be overshadowed. Glad I didn’t invest in that product.
Promo packs are absolutely needed for the tins. Honestly its disgusting how they did a 400 card set -, reprints still being expensive, yet only to screw people over with Bonanza.
S:P for $15 is crazy. Im not even mad aside from the fact i bought it for 60 a month ago, but the fear that itll be hit by the banlist like baronne and savage. Finally as cards become affordable, they ban it...they better not pull this again!!!
Learned my lesson of not buying cards that is over 25 usd because they will be useless within a year. I feel like there is no value in collecting ygo cards rn.
High rarity Retro format cards are the way to go if you dont wanna lose 80-90% value in the first year or two. Modern YGO is just a race to sell before Komoney announces a reprint that tanks the prices.
Thank you for not hiding and acting like you did not see the leaks! Your honesty is greatly appreciated to me as a viewer and your market watch videos are informative as well.
Konami really proving they can reprint anything they want whenever they want so trident dragion not being reprinted when tenpai released and konami basically laughing at us by saying just borrow a friend's if you don't have it really stings.
Thrust being $35 after a reprint seemed criminal. It’s just crazy how we got 2 reprints this close together. These are value products so the prices now should’ve been where they are if not not that much higher.
Im so aggro. And i know this is a "player choice" deal, but since even STORES are pulling out from ygo product i feel like im valid to vent. I pre ordered RC2 because i had such a hard time getting a hold of RC1. And RC2 was such a let down that i was insecure about getting in on QCB. And now its actually a good set. I also hate how yet AGAIN they told us whats in the set less than a WEEK before release. Its frustrating. Sets like these should NOT be a gamble. I dont buy booster boxes anymore but the RC series is supposed to be designed to give us staples. Why the FUCK do they keep doing this this way? Why not just REPLACE THE TINS WITH QCB THIS YEAR?? The tins could have been fine. Alt arts + the iconic reprints as promos 3 promos per box, 2 secrets per pack with that cardpool, and the rest as Ultras for rarity upgrades to common/bulk of the previous year's sets. The 2019 tin treatment but in all foil set to celebrate the 25th anniversary. None would complain. The fact QC were easier to get than Secrets was criminal
@babrad and a SMALL set of cards. The thing that I think is even more insidious is that any small store that bought the tins based off of past sales is now FUCKED. Who is buying a tin when you could open 5 packs of QCB and get the most expensive cards in the tins?
Not to mention I spent $180 on a case of tins and only got 1 SP little knight and triple tactics thrust which was miles ahead of most of the others who bought into it. I don't know why I even spend money on this game I have all my cards scanned in to see what prices raise or drop and overall my collection is down thousands...
@@jackblackrosedragon9325 having a big cardpool wouldn't be such an issue if the ratios weren't treated so poorly. Having a 2nd secret per pack would have fixed them. Totally agree on destroying the tins. Chaos Angel, Typhon and Centur-ion are not enough to sell them
@@BigC1189 I can agree and support "shiny" cards getting reprints so anyone has access to affordable rarities. YGO shouldn't be stock market. However I also understand what you mean because I have a collection myself. In my opinion the middle ground would have been to get the OCG model then never reprinting core Secrets as secret or above, having collector rare as the established "reprint rarity" and making boxes keep their value in the long run. The ball was dropped with QCSR. These should have been the new secret rares we get in ra02 and bonanza and not look like budget starlights. Speaking of starlights they were completely ruined, especially when we got QCSR reprints. They could have exclusive core set rarities (QCSR and Starlight), OTS as the pinnacle of Reprints, Collector as the standard reprint, and finally tin Secret as the only other Secret reprint since it's very different from the core one. The Rarity Collection OCG rarities are also very nice but I believe they are exclusive to those sets
I don’t think he needs to get punished. He’s showing the people what exactly your getting into when it comes to Yugioh product and just how scummy Konami can be. I’d say Konami needs to restructure its products and its faith in the player base if anything. None of this would have happened if Konami simply made better products, had better prizing, and better communication with its players. It’s Konami’s fault.
My concern is that konami may have rules regarding when information is supposed to be allowed to be public. So maybe an ots might lose it's status. Which isn't exactly a desirable outcome
I think Konami seriously need to consider releasing less sets. If the Mega Tins didn't exist Konami would be receiving nothing but praise for Bonanza and would have sold tons more of it because they could have led with the great reprints. As it is they had to keep them secret to avoid revealing that the Mega Tins were largely redundant and as a result a great set is creating nothing but negative PR. When you have so little reprint equity left that you have to shortprint reprints to sell them over and over again something is clearly going wrong with the way the game is currently being managed.
Really just not sure what to think with konami anymore. They print some good sets that people praise, follow it up with some of the worst in modern history. They start communicating about a future product and what to expect, then keep others intentionally in the dark. They talk about setting precedents for their product and then break some previously established ones. Start sending out surveys asking what people would like to see, then set something up for failure this hard. What's next for konami? What are we supposed to be expecting from next year's products? If their recent master duel history is anything to go by, there will be no mercy for such major leaks, but this is already a long established trend where it feels like more often than not we get our upcoming yugioh news from a reddit post or a youtube leak rather than any official source. Is this really how things are going to progress?
They are just flailing. RC only happened because the investors pressed them. They then saw how many people actually wanted good products, and decided to "Konami" the set as far as they could get away with in rc2. It still sold well though, so we get to bonanza, the third of the same set in a single year. For comparison, we get about 1, maybe 2 duelist packs a year, a set or two of deck builders, and they just about forgot about structures (aka the only guaranteed value product). The tins got backstabbed for this set, and I honestly hate how they're doing this. Bonanza may be good, but the fact is, if they're killing other sets to do it, the vendors are the ones who are gonna be holding the losses for these tricks.
I think the blue eyes structure deco will be the last product with QCRs, minus whatever won the poll. The card that won the poll will be the very last QCR, and it'll probably be a 10k dragon situation where its the only QCR in the set and its like 1 per case or less.
Their policy regarding privileged information is one that I really wonder how well it would stand up to a court challenge regarding the first amendment in the US and if discussing it when not under an actual nondisclosure contract is protected speech
