Can we all appreciate that Little Mix is a group where everyone is vocally capable in many areas
“The vocal powerhouse of the group” some mixers act like it’s a crime to call perrie that these days. She will always be the powerhouse of little mix and that is not the insult to the other girls that some of ya’ll think it is.
Yes! It's a fact that she produces the best resonance but that's not at all saying the other girls are untalented or incapable :)

@@lucia7247 yes! Just like they can all do runs and they all have amazing falsettos, but leigh anne will always be the best at runs and riffs, and jade has the best falsetto. Perrie has the best belts. They all complete each other and it’s so beautiful

They are the most consistent girlgroup. They let each other shine. Their genuine friendship is the key why are they the 5th best-selling girlgroup of all time, surpassing Pussycat dolls. They are also the most streamed girlgroup on Spotify (they debut in 2011 or non streaming era). They are the most certified girlgroup of all time surpassing Spice Girls.
P.S.: They did all of that without cracking America and a support from their label.

They’d have broken the spice girls record by now

Yet they get slandered by people who hasn’t even listened to them sing consistently

how can little mix broken the record when the spice girls hold the record best selling album in the history by a girl group worldwide and many more records worldwide.
one of the things that instantly drew me to Jade when first getting into Little Mix and not yet knowing their personalities was her versatility and how she can do so many different things with her voice/create so many different sounds. it's a good thing i found her personality so incredible too lmao
i love perrie's power on her belts, her transition from chest to falsette or HV is just beautiful, also her operatic voice is so good.
i love leigh’s tone always sounds clear live, she has the best agility in the group.
jade’s vocal creativity and HV are out of this world.

Little Mix have the right name because their vocals have a little mix of everything.
Jade: has pop, urban and sweet fusion vocals, with diversification of riffs, intonation and harmonies. Her latest additions over last 3 eras are added full power consistent notes with tinge of edge (learned from her sister Perrie).
Perrie: One of the most premium full voices of the industry. She has soul, rock, country, pop and R&B elements in her vocal repertoire. Full of range, a strong ear to mix her harmonies. Bold, gritty, expressive and punchy vocalist.
Leigh-Anne: Prize of most improved. Pop and R&B core to her range. Pretty sounding tone, strong, bright with added better breathing and stamina to her elements. Dedication to her instrument really got her to a super top level. You hear the vocal confidence and her development of vocal swag, as well as her ear for changing notes to add new vibes to their songs live (learned from her sis Jade). Loving the deeper tones coming in and her precision on her runs/riffs. Key stability in their harmonies she's always had.
A big respect for the evolution vocally of this group. With each era they become more seasoned and you notice as years went on Perrie was no longer the only one relied on for the big powerful moments as they are all now capable. Salute to true craft of the arts and development commitment. Love it.
Love how Leigh worked on her belts. It’s good that Perrie queen of belts doesn’t have to take them all now and can give her voice a break. The work Leigh has put in to improve is definitely showing clearly. Jades also such an artistic vocalist which I love.

three insanely talented vocalists, but Leigh-Anne will always be the most underrated
And i will never understand why. She’s so talented and adds so much to the group. I’m happy that she’s getting treated better nowadays. It’s been a long time coming

@@lightofdawn2804 not always. comparatively speaking, her tone, while good isn't as velvety as Perrie's and her technique, while not bad, isn't as polished as Jade's. she's got the best runs so far though.
@@mizzdizz4419 That's a subjective opinion because looking into the perspective of your interpretation, it's very biased. Leigh-Anne doesn't have to have a velvety tone like Perrie to be underrated because one's voice has their own appeal to everybody and with Leigh-Anne it ain't an exception. Technical wise, i do agree that she's not as great as Jade but she's still a very capable vocalist and that supposedly does not subject her for being underrated. All of them should be able to shine and nobody should be overlooked. Racism may not be the major case here but it is also a case that is evident for Leigh-Anne because such thing does exist and she battles with it since the start of Little Mix's establishment in the X-Factor's days.
In terms of the character of their voices, Perrie and Jade are two opposite ends of the spectrum and Leigh is in the middle.
I'd say purely based off tone Perrie and Leigh are the two extremes, extreme darks and lights.
@@sp0ngeb00b7 Actually yes, I agree with you there. Because Jade is versatile enough to go all rough and aggressive but then her falsetto is super sweet. Leigh’s tone is sweet, light and youthful and perfumed as he called it. Not too sure what he meant by matte ngl lol
@@zach5438 agree. Jade's voice is not as thick and dark or deep just like Perrie's and also not as light as Leigh.. She's like in the middle between them- a bit heavy yet more on the lighter and girly side ( pls forgive my descriptions) and I also think this enables her to easily experiment with the quality of the sound that she do when she sings.
Perrie and Jade can be complete opposite when it comes to singing style..
Jade is often melismatic and always switches between different textures of her voice. Meanwhile, Perrie seems to sing the least "decorative" as opposed to Jade. Perrie simply sings. She can also apply melismas at times but she mostly prefer to sing in a plain manner and just lets her voice do the work.
@@kylesaludares2359 Perrie’s voice is grand and powerful and dark and thick enough I don’t think it is that big a deal that she chooses to sing normally. Jade’s voice has a lot of character to it. Leigh does as well bc she is quite good with riffing and she loves her growls but she is also the voice that brings the other two together.
Little Mix are in a league of their own. They're the best female group in the industry since Destiny's Child. Period.

@Eunoia Flowersss they are way way above littlemix in live performances, went to a junior ice hockey tournament in Tilburg Holland a couple of years ago, one of the nights we went to watch a concert we we're invited to, and it was OG3NE, they we're unbelievable, by far and away the best harmony trio I have ever heard and seen, I been following them ever since, I really don't think little mix are that good in comparison especially as they have only one reasonable singer Perrie 🇬🇧.

Not only was she the weakest live out of all of them (she’s good, but not at their level) but she also was constantly too nitpicky about herself and the girls had to work way harder because of her. They’re both better off as jesy as a soloist and little mix as a trio

But if someone says she wasn’t waiting them down in any way they’re clearly just to blind to see or in denial. Her insecurities made problems in the group. I love Jesy and I loved the group with her but I feel like now that she’s gone the girls are more „free“ and can try out new stuff (in music videos for example) that wasn’t an option before.

She sounded out of breath a lot of the times live and she always overused her vibrato making her sound shaky. But yes, i agree that people would be in denial if they disagree about jesy weighing them down

I would characterize Jesy as air due to her smoky tone. Leigh Anne as fire due to her more aggressive (growls) approach at times. And Jade as water because the overall fluidity and versatility of her voice.
@@deyoncew3311 I gave Jesy fire because she stylistic one when it comes to vocals plus her smoky tone rather makes me think of something that comes from fire (considering that smoke is rather an air pollutant, I didn't think air was fitting).
I gave Leigh Anne water because she's the most agile vocalist in the group yet her voice isn't as light as Jade who also has a lovely falsetto thus air seems to be the most fitting.

I think those elements match best with their vocal types. But when I thought of each one of them having elements I thought of their zodiac signs lol. Perrie is water because she’s a Cancer, Jade is earth because she’s a Capricorn, and Leigh-Anne and Jesy are both air signs, I would say Jesy is fire because to me it fit her more fsr. But that is totally unrelated to their vocal styles lol.
If my hypothesis is correct, Lerrie’s voices are gonna become more husky and deep. From what I’ve been told and what I’ve read, women vocal cords become thicker after having children. Don’t be surprised if you hear 2011 Perrie again after this baby, and don’t be surprised when Leigh’s voice starts to sound more husky.

I guess during the Salute era she still had a little bit of that voice from before, but her voice until late 2012 was even deeper than what was shown here

When i first became a mixer i thought jade and leigh had somewhat similar voices, but jade sounded softer and had a better technique (honest opinion, sorry leigh), but then i noticed leigh had this fun voice and could sound more mature at times too. I love hearing her singing the do-do-do part in sweet melody, sounds soothing. I guess nobody compares to her.
When i discovered lmx it was difficult for me to differenciate leigh's and jade's voice ..but then i notice that leigh's voice IS childish and sweet..her highnotes are really different from jade's highnotes.
Honestly, this video could’ve been 30 minutes longer. We definitely need a part 2!
I will literally defend perrie till death because people just don’t realize the gem of a voice that she has and they love to dumb down her abilities because they’re threatened. They’re all good, there is no need to reduce perrie to her couple strained notes to make yourselves feel better about your favorite in the group. Perrie is incredible and her belts and head voice are unmatched

Yeah. I don't know why people love to hate on her.🙁 All she does is carry all the belting and high notes in some of their songs. Also the parts they where given are what they are capable of and good at. Of course she will strain often, her parts always requires so much power from her voice and also due to repetitive and no time for resting during tours. But people just love to throw bullshits towards her. Perrie ain't just a belter ya'll. People must have only listen to one little mix song to say Perrie is a one trick little pony. Tsk.
The growth, unity, and distinctiveness of Little Mix has really been something else these past years - loved this video
Yea Little Mix are great at using twang and vocal effects along with having a strong technical foundation. Some of the best vocalists in out generation hands down.
Jade has always been my favourite. But all of them, Jesy included, are very gifted singers and the way they have built Little Mix, their harmonies and their distinctive sound is amazing.
yodels are so common in pop music I think that’s why I gravitate to jades voice… she is really versatile and doesn’t overly rely on a yodel every time she switches registers

I feel like (not my feeling, it's the fact actually) Little Mix is really the ace of all the girlgroup that exist in this generation. The vocal ability of each member blend so well. They're not just that "can sing" group. Every member has their specialty and own tone. Their vocal abilities and techniques are just on another level. They are literally one of the greatest singers of all time. People should really put some respect on their name atleast.

Lol Perrie was not only the vocal power house of little mix but one of the top most powerful voice in pop industry.She just stopped hitting those high notes(because it was most probably taking toll on her and it can strain your vocals while everytime you have to hit High notes in each live songs) and more like singing underrated from LM5 era probably. But still her voice is one of a kind and most memorable.

Side by side I always wonder if they actually benefit from being in a group. They’re all so strong and it seems like they have to sacrifice their strength to achieve a consistent “sound”.
I feel this topic rattles the fan base but Perrie could drown them out with resonance and power. Leighanne could riff and run circles around them and Jade has a monopoly on tone and unique-ness.

I think if jade was in a kpop group she would be the so called ACE OF THE GROUP she's definitely decent/good at basically everything a ace is, she dances really well, has her own thing like most of the main dancers have, you know what I mean, she nails face expression, it's a visual, has a power and light voice and very skilled, she's very marketable kinda reminds me of enhypen's heeseung or mamamoo's wheein

I feel like people forget that Jade sings the highest note in confetti and can belt. She doesn’t just have the best head voice, but she has hit so many chest voice belts in confetti that people ALWAYS forget.

Her head voice isn’t connected so definitely not the best head voice. She does have such an angelic falsetto though
She isn’t the only one singing the highest note in confetti, both perrie and jade hit an C6 ( falsetto/ head voice). Highest belt on confetti is Perrie with a G#5 and close behind her Leigh with a G5.

Everyone talks about Perrie’s voice, but Jade has MAD skills and Leigh is so powerful. Perrie has the best tone (according to public opinion), but Leigh and Jade have JUST as good of voices. Jesy, too! I miss her voice in the group ❤️

As a trained person, do you think Leigh Anne and Jade sound very similar? Is it their tone?
I think that Jade can make her voice sound similar to Leigh-Anne, but I don't think their voices and styles are very similar in general
