    I own this bag and have been using it very often. I have a whole mess of other bags from a ton of other brands but needed something around this size. Price is pretty steep normally but I grabbed mine during a sale for about $60.
    I threw an extra shoulder pad onto it that Hazard 4 also makes. Purchased way back for a small cooler and it greatly improves the comfort. I also, found that if you wear it fanny pack style, you can still comfortably wear a regular sized, two strap pack. This leaves the bandoleer in a good position for any items you may need more quickly without having to remove the larger bag. Also great that in sling mode its small enough to comfortably get in a vehicle, buckle up and carry on without having to remove it. You just pull it to your front and go from there.
    I like the hard shell and throw my phone and earbuds in there as well as a smaller charger and cables. I always have a small boo-boo kit with me, but with everything going on in the world now I also carry some nitrile gloves and hand sanitizer lol. I do CCW with it as well when I go for morning walks/jogs (I wear it pretty tight so it doesn't hop around all over) as I'm usually in basketball type shorts or joggers.
    It's definitely not the "end all, be all" of bags, but it does have its uses. It just really depends on what those uses are. Need a larger bag for tech or larger sized edc gear? This won't do it for you. Need a bag that can work well in conjuction with a larger pack set up and be used on its own? This may fill that void.

    This is super useful. Seeing how it flops around when you walk and then not including hardware to install the hardware loops... something I planned to get.

    I'm an urban vehicular cyclist and ride more than 1,000 miles a month. I frequently use the Hazard 4 Bandoleer, either as a waist or sling pack, and it's excellent for carrying EDC gadgets, extra cold weather gear, defensive countermeasures and night riding lights and reflectors. Yes, it's small and doesn't hold much and that's the point. If you want to carry lots of stuff, rent a U Haul. Otherwise, this is an excellent option for limited carrying. You do make a good point about the shoulder sling option - you really do need a sling bag retaining strap if you want to wear it as a sling bag, otherwise it will creep down and twist and settle by your butt. It does ride very well as a waist pack. I own several other Hazard 4 bags and I've purchased a number of Hardpoint attachments and they did always come with screws but yeah, Hazard 4 does have an odd habit of omitting essential components from their items and they make you buy them separately.

    I wish Hazard 4 will start to have a gray colored version on all their bags, just like Vanquest.
    Hope they do an upgrade to fix the cons on this bag, e.g. stitch fray, attachment screws etc.
    I see myself buying this bag once the local seller offers it in their inventory.

  • @retrowoolley9771
    @retrowoolley9771 10 месяцев назад +1

    I own it and as for the twisting and riding odd, I fixed that with a small safety pin holding the strap to the side I wear it on. With that it rides flat and comfortably

      You bought the wrong hardmount straps those are for inside attachment. If you purchased the right hard point modular tie down kit it comes with both the screws and color matched screw covers.

    Thank you for pointing that out. That is a definite deal breaker for me. I was about to buy it online, and not sure how bag rests at the back. Too bad, i really like the design of the bag.

  • @kta1540
    @kta1540 4 года назад +2

    yeah, their accessories tend to ridiculously and unnecessarily expensive
    I personally believe that this bag suits light, close-range daily life activities like going to the convenience store, drive to pick up someone, or walk in a park, stuff like that. For example, I like to carry trauma kit everywhere I go but it can be a bit bulky, so these kinds of bags allow me to carry it more easily with other my EDC without being too handful or hassle.

    I don't see much use for me. If you find something for on body ccw while wearing sweats, I would love to find out about it. I use a wheelchair and now have to wear sweats all the time which drives me nuts. I want to carry on body but haven't found anything. I can't even carry my old pocket knife that I carried for years.

  • @beaver6d9

    For me, a key component of an edc sling is being able to wrap around your body somewhat when you cinch. I've had bad luck with boxy type bags, so I kinda rule them out automatically. Daily rocker is aer city sling or timbuk2 catapult 2.0 depending on needs.

  • @joeykerr5517
    @joeykerr5517 4 года назад +1

    I love the pack itself but the strap could definitely be better. I've wanted a good slingpack for a while but most of the ones I found aren't side zip. I wonder if a ziptie would be enough to keep the strap where it needs to be. I'd also like the pouches inside to be sideways so they are easier to access from the side. I decided just to use my Ribz chestpack as my edc.

    I think the reason it doesn't ride flat on your back is because you have it stuffed to the gills which makes it round out in the back. Try taking a third if the stuff out of it and then slinging it. I think it rides fine when it is half or 2/3'rd's full.

    • @pan6593
      @pan6593 Год назад

      This is an inheritant design limitation of slings that protrude out a certain way that they simply can‘t stay flat to the body - gravity has to go somewhere.
      And let’s say your reasoning is accurate, it still doesn‘t make sense to have a bag that you can only user properly when stuffed 50% (or 2/3 for that matter).

    Hazard4 kept making this look like a useful bag on their IG page but after seeing the review it confirms my suspicions of being too small and too poorly laid out to be very practical. I've been looking for a minimalist edc pack with just enough space to put a few extra items in that I want to have but not necessarily in my pockets. Thought maybe this was it but the layout looks impractical, back to Vanquest

    My main problem is that it's a great design but bad execution where as 5.11 nail the quality on all levels but the design is more traditional.

    Kudos for posting a review on a very different type of EDC bag. I am not a fan of sling/messanger bags. I really don't see a need for this type of bag even over the standard soft sling/messenger bag. Does not have the versatility for capacity of the 5.11 sling bag. The soft shell case is distinctive and has its advantages but if I had camera or other optic gear needing more protection I would have a specific case for that equipment and carry in my normal EDC bag.

    i dont get why someone would carry there gun in a bag like that....if your in a situation where you need a gun, you need it right now, no time to open up your bag and remove the gun and insert the clip....if you have this much time you are not in a legal situation to use a gun, the police/judge would say if you have that kind of time then your life was not in imminent threat and you could have left/run, whatever

    From India : As the shipping is very expensive from the US to India (more than the product price itself), asking a friend to bring Bandoleer over was a real mistake, the bag is heavy enough to slip and come under the arm while in the sling configuration (5:36), Now, I use it as a document and accessory waist bag (wearing just over the hip like at 6:35 ) while going on a moto ride with my buddies.
    9:04 - Completely agree, I knew they wanted to sell the mounting separately, it was disappointing to see that they were selling the screws as an entire different product !
    11:45 - I thought it was for coins hahahahaa
    20:10 - thats the absolute crix of the video ... seriously ... even I have not been able to figure out its exact use... bought it because it felt awesome ... but yeah .. back to square one ...
    Oh and by the way ... I got a Plan C (Backpack) as well ... very happy with that to say the least

    • @pan6593
      @pan6593 Год назад +1

      I found the slipping of another sling bag to be design inheritant, unfortunately.
      It is what these layouts tend to do - gravity has to pull it somewhere if you don’t have a counterweight.

    Hazard 4 do have some nice looking bags. I have their Photo Recon bag and that's a nice camera bag on first look but after using it for some time, there's a few flaws in the bag that you won't know until you really use it. There's a number of things that can be improve on.
    And it shows here too in the video. Nice looking bag but you only notice the flaws once you use it. Little things like these are annoying and their bags are not cheap. Also I just never like their hard shell bags. It looks cool but I just can't find myself liking it. It just looks bulky. And with the kind of price tag on it, it's really hard to buy one just to try out.
    Great review video too!!!

    I am hesitant with this bag for a few years now. Different potential scenarios for me, e.g. bike, motorcycle, commuting. I second many opinions here, including yours that the inner layout has very limited use, sizewise also just a tiny bit too small maybe.
    I personally do not like the inside color and that the strap cannot be changed or taken off. I‘d like to customize that or maybe attach it to something else etc., but this strap will always be what it is and it seems to be sewn into/onto in a way that one has to be modded more heavily if one wants to go that route (I personally like big camera straps on slings).
    They do have a memorial day promo as I am writing this, hence my research. This review offered the first possibility to look inside to me and I won‘t buy it. Thanks for making that decision easy.

    The pack is very well made but I found it was just to small for me. I can't seem to carry everything I want in it. If it was 4 liters and not 2 liters It would have been great. I paid 114.00 for the pack extra thick shoulder strap and the orange lock and hard mount. Very expensive for what it is and it was smaller them the online measurements. I am going to try there Freelance or there Plane B 17 pack this coming year. Ordering there Ventrapack tomorrow because the Helikon Numbat is not available. Vanquest 3.0 VSlinger is still my go to EDC pack. Great video as always and looking forward to the next.
