Sounds like the perfect cases for the guy with the average gig around the city, and needs a really protective case without the bulky size. Looks great!!!!
I definitely agree that checking one’s trombone is not the best option. What we run into quite often are large school ensembles flying to various locales; in these scenarios the directors/tour agencies invariably want all instruments above Trumpet size checked, giving the student limited options...

I've always put this case in the plane. American Airlines cracked my SKB hard case. Never put your horn under the plane if you can help it.
