Thanks Mike. It's the variety of cars that always astonishes me. The numbers of people who turn out each year to cheer us, reminds me of how much affection the public hold for our old vehicles.
Hi Sean, That has to be one of the best get together car meets and a fantastic tour to Felixstowe,, and great weather for top down driving. Thanks for sharing your time and effort another great video. All the best Bob. ( Not enough Triumph there)
Hello Sean! That looks like a superb show - I would liked to have been there! My son and I make a point of visiting an annual show, held close to home in one of Cape Town's Southern Suburbs. It always has a really good selection of classic and vintage cars and bikes, but where it does fall short of your show is in the actual excursion and the fine collection of heavy vehicles. Who doesn't love fire engines, for example?! Thanks for such an excellent and enjoyable video!
Hi Colin, I think you are right. More fire engines 👍and buses. Next year I probably need to skip the meeting in the park and set my camera up on the road into Felixstowe to get the big vehicles coming in. If you search You Tube for Ipswich and Felixstowe historic vehicle run, you will see other people have done precisely that over the years and there are some wonderful films of the same event.
@@seanhumfrey Hi Sean, I've been watching the video for the run, from Carguy 123. A really great turnout of all sorts of vehicles, including three or four Vitesse convertibles! The heavy vehicles are really something, too - especially the military recovery units - Thorneycrofts? Here's to next year's event!
I particularly enjoyed this latest video. What a great event from start to finish, a terrific variety of vehicles and great locations. Tess looks and sounds wonderful.😊 Thanks for posting.
Wonderful to meet you and Tess with my good lady along the sea front 😊 The name of the page I mentioned which I thought you might like is ‘Cornish walking trails’ Till next time, take care. Colin (MGB)
Thank you so much for a wonderful episode just perfect. The buses brought back long ago memories of the various companies that used to provide the service. I also have reluctantly to admit as a small boy to having Ian Allan books for bus spotting!! Thank you also patiently filming each of the arrivals- I got the Jensen ( but not many others.
I am so pleased you enjoyed this. I miss the liveries of the old bus and haulage firms. My memory is of the buses vibrating at idle enough to rattle your fillings.
I, too, had several of the Ian Allen bus spotting books - mostly for London Transport, because I grew up in Middlesex, but also for the South Coast - e.g. Bournemouth Corporation, Hants and Dorset, Wilts and Dorset, Gosport, etc, as our family always spent our summer holidays in the Bournemouth/Boscombe area. It was, for me, in any case, a fascinating hobby - many a happy hour spent hanging out at the garages, ticking off the vehicles seen.
Well done Sean. It is difficult to capture just how big the gathering in the park is and the number of people who come out to watch along the roadside. The distance covered by cars along the prom must run into miles now. Very grateful I've got an automatic Triumph to use for this event. 😂 Great day out with perfect weather.
I was one of the few last classics to leave the park and took me 2 hours to reach Felixtowe Prom when marshals were about to call it a day for any more cars arriving, and was not impressed as was my first time with this event, perhaps next year will get there dead early for a clear run through
Gosh Derek, that is a real shame. I have never had that experience myself. I know that there were roadworks into Felixstowe causing traffic build ups generally. I hope you do join us next year. You know what I drive, come and say hello 👋😀
Its a fantastic event, at the end of the day the organisers cant control how busy the roads are, there's always a bit of traffic because over 600 old vehicles are all going the same way at the same time along with normal road traffic. I was amongst the first to leave in the Saab 95 and I think it still took me about 1hr 20mins. I hope it doesn't put you off too much, the incredible weather and the fact it was a bank holiday definitely made it much busier too.
Ah Daniel, sorry I didn't say hello. Your car attracted a lot of interest in the afternoon. Saab is one of the great marquee losses of the modern era with so much terrific rallying history too. Wonderful to see yours out and about 👏👏👏
@@seanhumfrey Good to see your lovely Vitesse too. The Saab does get some interest as there is very few about. Also no worries for not saying hello, I was about all over the place checking out all the cars.
Well I say ol boy, looking very dapper indeed. Wonderful video. Thanks.
Thank you Steve, I am so pleased you enjoyed the video. No charity shops were harmed in the assembly of my ensemble 😂
@@seanhumfrey glad to hear it"😂
Thank you for that record of a fun day out, so good to see so many classics still around and looking superb

Thanks Bob. It really was a brilliant day. Some wonderful Alvis cars, but you can never have too many Triumphs. 😀
@@seanhumfrey Uep, I agree, lots of great British cars of long gone marks😪 but greasy to see them out-n-about.
Have a good week. Bob

Maybe next year I’ll get to that event Sean, looks like a lot of fun! I’ve got the cap and the jacket but I’ll never look as dapper as you!
I hope you manage to get to join us. It's a great event. The cap and jacket are all you need 😂
Great video - certainly interesting to see it from the drivers side!
Great comment, thank 🙏
