This is such a good event and so well organised. I took part in my Beige Saab 95 estate. My dad was on his 1977 Honda 550 four. We both remarked on what a fun happy experience it was.
Vettes are one of those cars that require thorough inspection, my friend traded a rust free but cosmetically challenged 1967 Galaxie 500 for a beautiful '74 Stingray. While in the process of changing the 6 u-joints, we discovered the frame underneath the fiberglass rocker panels was completely rusted into pieces.
What a lot of lovely old vehicles. It just needed some classic motorcycles to finish it off. I'm glad Jupes made it. I had my classic Yamaha DT3 250 Enduro out on Easter Sunday on a charity run, it did the run, but seized about 5 miles from home. What's broken now!
Ah memories. Hope you and Jupiter made it home. Around 12.30 was particularly poignant for me to see the Austin Metropolitan - one (number plate 3000 CD) was my pride and joy in 1970 but which I gave up in rather sad circumstances. Wonder if it is still around.
As much as you love to hate on it, that Reliant, or something very much like it -- or, miracle of miracles, a Bond Bug -- is basically two-thirds of my want list. The other entries are a Piaggio Ape and a Chinese Tiller Truck. (Arguably there's actually one other vehicle, but that is very, very much a DIY job. Don't ask unless you want a veritable novel of an answer, you have been warned.) On the larger side, that ancient truck you had last time, that would be kind of fun I think. I forget the name, it was the one that supposedly terrified you when you took it on the Dual Carriageway. (You overacted that like William Shatner, BTW, it was hilarious.) That, and one of those steam traction engine things, that would be awesome. I _love_ steam stuff. (As if you couldn't tell.) Of course, the question on everyone's mind -- did Jupes make it home all right?
It looks a lot more comfortable driving Jupes instead of the 1930's truck from last year. Like the fact the Ransomes machinery factory Land Rover was in the run.
At 17:40 in the video, was that a black Ford Fiesta from the 80's?. That was my first car just after I'd gone to college. It was a great reliable car, but not great for changing the oil & filter without making a mess.
You got me arriving and leaving in the old black C3 Corvette, glad you liked it and yep T-Tops are great, they leak like hell but still great 😂😂😂 but did the truck start????
I think you should stick with the fire truck and work on upgrading both it and your license so that you can pull a flat bed ramp trailer with it, of some capacity. Then remove most of the firefighting gear and replace it with road service tools and you have a great service and towing rig with which to pursue all your other machinery interests.
Did you see a double decker bus that is pure red with a white stripe in between the top and bottom deck with the license YHE 240 we owned her years ago and I’m trying to find her for my dad
@@lmm not too shabby, my old bus was a straight 6 ,petrol with a crash box and only did 9 in town and about 12 -15 on a run, it was a steep learning curve !
@@CaptainDonut0 Yes I know but they are pretty much the only ones you see. I've seen a couple of Moskvitch too. A few Russian military vehicles too. None of them are commonly seen and Ladas are the most common.
@@Mr-pn2eh If I'd were superstitious I would say don't. On a vehicle like that you can't ever have everything right. So it's good to already have something that's not right but has no impact. And without being superstitious: It's far from being the fire engine related item in most dire need of attention. I recall there being some misterious dodge called redroot.
Forget the yank truck....that commer is dead cool !!!!
Me favourite,DENNIS pump to drive and operate back in 80's/90's Will be forever👌

I could easily spend all day looking at those vehicles.
11:54 truck is a little too proud of its heritage 🤣🤣😬😬
The biggest unanswered question is:- Did it start and get back home?
I mean, he spoke it into existence didn't he? You never do that.
You couldn't have asked for better!
It's much better if other ppl look after stuff for you... you don't have to purchase and store everything! ;)
Enjoyed that , well done on the engine too, hope to see you soon in a future event
So lovely to see Jupes out and about in Suffolk again this truly made my day big time😊❤❤😊

When you said "roll the theme tune" I was expecting the theme from Fireman Sam 😅
Thanks Lawrie, glad you enjoyed yourself, good variety of vehicles! 🙏🙏

One idea that might be kind of funny it to put a wickham trolley on a trailer to take it on a road trip like that

There were quite a few motorcycles taking part, My dad was one of them.
Well done love it well presented l think a TV company could do with you keep up the good work
Here's hoping!

if you think seeing thats impressive you should come to Pump primers in Harrisburg PA this summer all old fire trucks
The fact that there is no footage of the journey back or being back at the shed is slightly worrying!
Pix or it didn't happen :-)
loving the 2 tones from Jupiter senta friend or 2 the video link knowing theyll like the 2 tones

That V8 Perkins sounds fantastic!
I love it
Hello @@lmm Are you taking part Ipswich to Felixstowe In your Fire engine this year
Very enjoyable day, relieved we made it too 😁
I think if you got a ford crown victoria police car i would explode with excitement hahaha ive always wanted one of them myself hahaha
Right before this video I watched the one of Furious Driving pulling his Crown Vic apart and staring at amazing amounts of rust.
I want those tail lights on the Big Rigs hehe
I'd like to get one of those 3 wheeled electric cars that flopped too
Huge event!! Imagine the fuel bills 😅
Was great to see you on the day!
And you!
What vehicle did you drive
So many cool road vehicles. Lawrie certainly looks the part!
Interesting cargo on the truck on front of you at Felixstowe. Wouldn't it be fun to fire that up
< cue Gregg Wallace voice >
Your main issue has to be the speed of the two-tones.
I think they're 12v going through the 24 system
10:00 drone shots and a railway, what could be better?
What was wrong with jupes siren? Sounded twice as fast as the other fire engines ?
I think it's probably a 12v compressor running through a 24v system
I think a Green Goddess would be something you would love to own. By the way, that's a hell of a car show.
I'm surprised at the amount of American muscle on display this time. Congratulations on getting Jupes out successfully!
You got me arriving and leaving in the old black C3 Corvette, glad you liked it and yep T-Tops are great, they leak like hell but still great 😂😂😂 but did the truck start????
I'm so jealous! That's a proper cool car.
Yeah, she was solid
Hey lawrie did anyone say 😉 are we there yet 😉
Where is the RUclips video Off ipswich To felixstowe Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels
Looks like a great way to spend a day :)
Perfect day for it so peeved I didn't go now.

Two tones are a little over excited !
Great video, some amazing vehicles, what's happened to all your original crew?
Busy with new jobs etc I think.
Morgan doesn't have much interest in Jupes, Matt's job has taken him away from the channel
Lawrie, you are starting to sound like you are "Charlie Brown" to Jupiter's "Lucy".
1:57I'd give a doughnut to anyone brave enough to drive there in a Sinclair C5 😂
There were 20 in total who did the run.
Love that Perkins!
Did you see a double decker bus that is pure red with a white stripe in between the top and bottom deck with the license YHE 240 we owned her years ago and I’m trying to find her for my dad
can confirm, owning and driving a c3 corvette is awesome
Very jealous!
I happen to Notice Fireman Sam in the Windshield of Jupiter. Any ideas?
It was a gift from a friend
Lets hope so... that it gets there!
I am curious as it’s a fire engine does it still pump water or has the pump been disabled
I haven't reinstalled the pump since I went off for repair
Good thing your bank account can't get all the I wants!!! You would need your own parking garage built for big rigs!!
Ah to dream!
Hello @@lmm Are you gonna take part to Ipswich to Felixstowe In your fire engine
clicking on this video i was thinking one word "NO"
those two tones need sorting!!
a channel called auto shenanigans owns that black corvette with t tops
Don’t do it Lawrie! You already have enough projects!
My biggest dream is owning a Delorean somehow
What's with your two tone?? Have you fed it speed??😂
My first ever road run made even better meeting Laurie and Jupiter.
Good to meet you too!
how did jupiter arrive it baffles me lol
She's a good old thing!
What's your mpg ?
It managed just over 11.
I think on a run I would get 15 or so!
@@lmm not too shabby, my old bus was a straight 6 ,petrol with a crash box and only did 9 in town and about 12 -15 on a run, it was a steep learning curve !
Hmm the truck here appears to be made of truck.
I guess not.
Incase I'm not first, then I'm 10th
Yes?
Weird that i only seen the one russian car. Is it because of the war?
Hard to find perhaps. Aging wheels has one
@@Mr-pn2eh if you count the trabant its 2.
There arent many in the uk anyway. I rarely see a Lada maybe one here or there.
@@danielhillier7417 there are more makes of soviet car's then just the Lada 2104

No offense to jups, but that sirens sounds horrible. Kinda asthmatic.
Isn't supposed to sound that way?
It's not the right compressor for the two tones. It's too fast too
That makes sense. Perhaps a hunt for the right compressor is in order.
