You have fine tuned and are perfecting a formula for these guides - love your videos and I think they will be an important aspect to video game preservation.
Confession: the BGM from the first level of this game has been stuck in my head so long, I had actually forgotten what game it was from. Thanks for reminding me, and for showing us how to beat another epic NES game. 😎👍
I still currently play that BGM to this day, even remixes because it slaps so hard and when you add nostalgia to it, it’s a perfect track to BGM doing housework or hanging out.
This is exactly the strategy I needed in order to beat this game! Thanks so much, for this! If you ever do get the time, I'd like to see either Street Fighter 2010, or Shadow of the Ninja. :)
Love this game. I've never known about those stars. Small mistake: There IS a power up from the third officer: from 2-way to 4-way missiles. Requesting Shatterhand.
I just started watching this channel about a week ago. I’ve probably watched about 10 vids at this point. And every video, my favorite part is your dog. Makes me smile. So thank you! And thank your pupper!
Blasting POWs from their cabins and rushing them to the safe drop-off zone always gave me Choplifter vibes. This was one awesome Chisstmas present from Grandpa I'll never forget. The soundtrack has ever been ingrained in memory since then.
Now this is nostalgic! My brother and I beat this when we first got our NES, all we had was the Super Mario Bros./ Duck Hunt combo cartridge and Jackal. Man, good times.
I loved playing this with my buddy back in the day, I don't remember finishing when we were younger but we did finish it while getting drunk at a later date lol
Dude I love your videos and I don't know how you can put them out so quickly. This is one I can watch for fun instead of education though. I pulled it off the shelf and finished it about a year ago. Took me a few tries though! Died on the final boss like 3 times.
Excellent video! It really brings me back to those Saturday mornings in the late 80’s and 90’s when all my homework was done and I’ll watch cartoons and then play nes games. Thank you for the memories.
What I like about these videos is its refreshing to hear someone say good things about these games and face and solve them instead of just complaining like an angry jerk
This was one of those weekend rentals for me growing up. I might have to get myself a copy and finish it up. Love the videos! Keep it up, you’re making your way to 100k!
I played this so many times as a kid, running over the enemy foot soldiers was always a highlight! Thank you for this channel, the amount of work that you put into every single video is very apparent. Please keep up the great work.
I first saw this game in an arcade in West Germany, and it was called Jackal. (These name changes were common: Bad Dudes was DragonNinja, Rush N Attack was Green Beret, etc.). This was my first NES game in 1989, retail price 39.99.
This game brings me back, such a good game, I remember the machine gun only shoots up and you had to continually move the D pad to aim your gernades. NES advantage on turbo was a must.
i used to rent this on weekend from my local video store before the blockbuster days. I probably watched last weeks final fantasy video like 3 times before bed this week awesome work man keep it up
these really are perfectly done. looking back its shocking no one had already done this considering how big retro channels became the last few years. great idea, great execution.
I really enjoyed playing this game with friends. I got my copy with a box of NES games that I got at a convention and didn't know what it was at the time. Now, with your help, next time I hook up my top loader I'll be able to beat it, at least as long as player 2 doesn't burn through all of my lives.
Dude, this fucking channel is sick!! For one, this guy has a super sweet voice over. And second, anyone who was an 80s kid, these videos are so entertaining and nostalgic. Cheers UCBV!!! Keep the content coming!! I just finished the final fantasy 2 part series, and it was amazing!!!
Never played this game when i was a kid. I had guerilla war which is pretty similar. Both great games. Thanks for the video, i enjoy sitting down watching these with my son. He likes playing my retro games.
I got to be a page in our state senate for an afternoon in middle school. My friend and I played this for hours after we were allowed to go home. Great memories.
I never miss a single video. Calm, collected and even a bit of humor! And wow can your dog play well!! ;) So glad I found this channel back when you only had like 6 or 7 guides! On to next Saturday!!!
This and Castlevania 1 on the NES are the first true game obsessions I ever had. Those are 2 games I wish I could totally forget about just so I could play again for the very first time. Both of them made my blood boil=)
Great Playthrough, I love the Bob Ross like soft demeanor in how you narrated the adventure; stating things like getting the soldiers home to their families while parking at the helipad drop point was a very nice touch
U can beat video games is popping off! Love you channel and enthusiasm man! It's giving me motivation for playing retro games, I never played NES though, it wasn't super popular in europe. Any plans on doing some none NES games?
Me and my cousin played this game growing up along with contra, Blades of Steel, we recently played this game last year and we beat it for the first time love this game and good job with the video love your content
Glad this channel is growing and getting a lot of views. We need more stuff like this, these are things I strives for when I was little, full guides and explanation on video games.
No lie , I have been debating playing jackal all week. I play my nes on Friday or Saturday nights . And I see you post this . It’s a done deal I’m playing it later. It was either jackal or gunsmoke thanks for the video
Great video. I didn't even know this game existed. That Final Fantasy video was so long, and so engrossing, that I didn't even get a chance to comment on it due to it taking me the whole two weeks to watch (I don't get a whole lot of free time) before this video was posted.
Second power up P.O.W. on blows up in side to side direction. Once you get thrid power up P.O.W. then the missile blows up in four directions. Love great show. Peace
Ahhhhhh, yes!!! The magical hidden brown star 😉👍The most magical of all the stars Hahahahahaha! Along with the rusted brown houses! But not important compared the super tough "BROWN TANKS!" You and your doggo are the best bro! Keep up the kickass, detailed and overall, fantastically fun 100% playthroughs bro. Have a great day and, I wish you and doggo all the best! 😁👍
Awesome guide. Really appreciate the time and research you put into these. I used both of your final boss strats for both my first solo completion and 1 CC runs. I will definately mention this video in my tutorial. The careful method for the final row of turrets was great too, if you lose the missle spread. Prior to this I had only completed the game in 2 player. This was one of my favorites.
Jackal was always a highlight when renting games on the weekend with my dad. Co-op was one of my favorite things about it since we could play at the same time and my dad helped me beat the bosses. Renegade Ops is a great game if you get the itch for this type of game on modern systems.
My buddy had this game. But I've never played it. It looks pretty good I've a raspberry pie for so maybe I'll get my nephew to install it for me. Thank you brother love you videos.
This is one of the trial and error games where I usually made those mistakes because I advanced forward too quickly. It took me 8 tries to get this right to beat this game.
31:13 That dam conveyer belt...it was one of many banes for my 11year old self! You do it so smoothly. How many passes through a game do you play before you get the perfect footage? Love your vids man!
What if I told you, the biggest hidden gem on the NES is Guardian Legend? I am notorious now for positing this every week until it happens!!! I am so dedicated I even changed my profile picture! Seriously keep up the great content every week until you do a deep dive on the best game for the NES :) Jackal is an awesome game, my friends and I in Elementary school loved playing this 2 player.
poor lil infantry dude @ 17:55, he thought he was going to be the hero, only to realize his pew pew shooter goes 2 ft in front of him and gets destroyed by the rocket lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Watching this takes me back to playing this with my brother. covering eachothers backs while we rescued POWs. Got as far as the final boss but never beat it sadly.
This is one of the games me and my dad spent so much time together playing. Great memories, miss those times.
My dad was a huge fan of this game as well!!!
Me and my brother played this a ton. HelI, I played this a ton alone.
Same here! It is why I just had to watch!
Same. Now I game with my son and hope he gets the same memories I made with my dad.
I hate seeing the folks get older. God it kills me
Completing Jackal without dying a single time is quite a feat in itself, and you made it look easy!
That is one hell of a canine! No game can stop him with his acute skills. Good boy!
You have fine tuned and are perfecting a formula for these guides - love your videos and I think they will be an important aspect to video game preservation.
Wow I just beat it with guide. I've been playing this game for 30 years and I finally beat it with 0 lives and continues left. You channel rules
My bro and I co-oped the hell out of this back in the day. Classic!
The build up, and release I feel for the, ".... What if I told you...." line is immeasurable
This is exactly the strategy I needed in order to beat this game! Thanks so much, for this! If you ever do get the time, I'd like to see either Street Fighter 2010, or Shadow of the Ninja. :)
Love this game.

God I played this game so much as a kid with a friend.
For real, what an awesome classic
I just started watching this channel about a week ago. I’ve probably watched about 10 vids at this point.

My dad loved this game!!! He once VCR recorded his gameplay, mailed it to his brother in-law in San Diego to show him how to beat it!!!
I loved playing this with my buddy back in the day, I don't remember finishing when we were younger but we did finish it while getting drunk at a later date lol
Games are even better when drinking!
That's because you were playing it *correctly*.
CHEERS 🍻
YESSSS I LOVED THIS GAME AS A KID! beating this with my uncle was one of the highlights my entire childhood. so happy to see this game.
Dude I love your videos and I don't know how you can put them out so quickly. This is one I can watch for fun instead of education though. I pulled it off the shelf and finished it about a year ago. Took me a few tries though! Died on the final boss like 3 times.
Jackal, what an awesome surprise! I always try to guess and this one blindsided me, you're the best!
So many awesome YT channels, but this one is becoming my favorite!
Hit my nostalgia strings on this one. Thanks dood! Plus love all of the videos you put out.
I had this game as a kid! My younger brother and I used to play co-op and best it a few times. Excellent game and excellent video!
Excellent video! It really brings me back to those Saturday mornings in the late 80’s and 90’s when all my homework was done and I’ll watch cartoons and then play nes games. Thank you for the memories.
Lets Go! Been waiting for this one. So many memories with my brother and I playing this
I played this all the time back in the day but was too young and never beaten it. Thank you for sharing.
What I like about these videos is its refreshing to hear someone say good things about these games and face and solve them instead of just complaining like an angry jerk
Thanks for bringing these back to Saturday. This is my Saturday morning Friday night movie.lol
I could never get enough of jackel! It was so fun running little guys over and I felt like a hero when I had saved every single army buddies.
This was one of those weekend rentals for me growing up. I might have to get myself a copy and finish it up. Love the videos! Keep it up, you’re making your way to 100k!
This is THE BEST classic games walkthrough channel! My preferred channel nowadays!
Loved this one when I was younger! Thank you for doing all of these games and I hope you do Nightshade and/or Shadowgate soon!
I played this so many times as a kid, running over the enemy foot soldiers was always a highlight!
Thank you for this channel, the amount of work that you put into every single video is very apparent. Please keep up the great work.
First game I ever beat. My whole family watching, and rooting. What a time.
This is one my favorite nes games. Played this so many times in early 90s since I was born in 1983. Great vid.
I first saw this game in an arcade in West Germany, and it was called Jackal. (These name changes were common: Bad Dudes was DragonNinja, Rush N Attack was Green Beret, etc.). This was my first NES game in 1989, retail price 39.99.
The all-time NES classic, hands down my favorite game and the first I beat on the NES.
Played this so much, was able to beat it without losing a life.
Loved this game
This game brings me back, such a good game, I remember the machine gun only shoots up and you had to continually move the D pad to aim your gernades. NES advantage on turbo was a must.
This channel is probably my best find of last year.
Kudos, fellow nes nostalgia lover, kindred spirit.
I've always loved that the jeep vibrates when you move.
Between Jackal and Cabal... man the memories of my youth. Still play games with the same friend every week, it's just different titles now!
i used to rent this on weekend from my local video store before the blockbuster days. I probably watched last weeks final fantasy video like 3 times before bed this week awesome work man keep it up
This game was one of my favorites as a kid. Great video as always!
This is still one of my all time favorites! Awesome video chief
This game is awesome. It deserves to be as widely mentioned as Contra
these really are perfectly done. looking back its shocking no one had already done this considering how big retro channels became the last few years. great idea, great execution.

Sweet, I've been waiting ( and pestering ) for this one!
Never played this game when i was a kid. I had guerilla war which is pretty similar. Both great games.
Thanks for the video, i enjoy sitting down watching these with my son. He likes playing my retro games.
This is one of your best videos so far.
I got to be a page in our state senate for an afternoon in middle school. My friend and I played this for hours after we were allowed to go home. Great memories.
I'm still recovering from that FF marathon.....

This is definitely top five NES games for me. So much fun!!

Yet another fantastic video. Please consider covering Heavy Barrel in the future.
One of my favorite games... EVER...
Life force - That was my favorite game of all time . Jackal was number two. Thank you for putting out this video
Awesome guide. Really appreciate the time and research you put into these. I used both of your final boss strats for both my first solo completion and 1 CC runs. I speedran this game a quite a bit lots of fun, love your videos
Jackal was always a highlight when renting games on the weekend with my dad. Co-op was one of my favorite things about it since we could play at the same time and my dad helped me beat the bosses. Renegade Ops is a great game if you get the itch for this type of game on modern systems.
I love how the giant tank shoots a massive fiery shot capable of annihilating the Jackal just as easily as one tiny bullet from the lowest teir enemy.
This is a great game I played this soo much and was on of the few games my father enjoyed playing.
My buddy had this game. But I've never played it. It looks pretty good I've a raspberry pie for so maybe I'll get my nephew to install it for me. Thank you brother love you videos.

Such a calm presence during such intense warfare
I've made it to the last boss a few times, never thought of using the machine gun or the safe spot. Thanks, will try this again.
this game was so fun to play , a must have for collection
One of my favorite top down on rails shooting games. I hope you do more of these. Iron Tank, gorilla war, twin cobra, 1943, abodox.

Quite excited you're covering this one! One of my top 5 for sure.

This channel is very nostalgic!!!
Very underrated game. I have so much nostalgia for this one. Recently beat it after all these years.
Watching this takes me back to playing this with my brother. covering eachothers backs while we rescued POWs. Got as far as the final boss but never beat it sadly.
