I'm not knocking them and am aware they appear in houses alongside that other stuff sometimes...Just making an observation about the need to build a monument to a fairytale past rather than create an atmosphere from elements of the present. Set construction is like the implementation of any other facade inasmuch as it's motivated by anxiety. Compulsions relieve (distract from, but do not resolve) perseverating obsessions (unconscious anxieties)... In other words building an amusement park in one's house becomes the very thing that keeps unamusing memories repressed to the unconscious.
