'' This is the first time I witnessed such incidence in a wild since when I started my excursion (almost 25yrs). The battle between male and female was actually the battle between father and daughter over the territory. The daughter fought very bravely. She is most bold subadult of famous tigress of Bandhavgad "Dotty". She is definitely going to be ruled forest in upcoming days. Seriously it's a lifetime experience for me. ''

    Dose he remember his daughter??

It's a fascinating observation indeed! While we can't definitively say what goes on in the minds of animals, there's evidence to suggest that tigers, like many other creatures, are capable of forming strong bonds, especially within family units.
The behavior of the tigers could indicate a recognition of their familial relationship. It's possible that the father tiger did remember his daughter upon seeing her again, which might have triggered conflicting emotions leading to the initial aggression followed by a cessation of the fight.
However, it's important to acknowledge that our understanding of animal cognition is limited, and we can only speculate based on observations and knowledge of tiger behavior.
Without direct communication with the tigers or detailed scientific analysis of their behavior, we can't be certain about their internal experiences.

@@annatiger5086Not normally, no. But if the tigress doesn't back down and keeps going for him, he might not have a choice.
Accepted this is a rare scenario however. It's certainly happened in captivity, although this is far from a normal situation.

@@BlueRice Thank you for sharing your observations!
It's fascinating to learn more about the social dynamics of animals like tigers and bears. Indeed, recent studies have challenged the notion of tigers as solitary animals, revealing that they do remember family connections and that this can influence their behavior.
As for bears, their behavior can vary greatly depending on species and environmental factors. While some instances of aggression among older males have been observed, it's interesting to note the communal behavior of polar bears during times of abundant food sources.
It's a reminder of the complex interplay between biology and environment in shaping animal behavior.
Your insights raise thought-provoking questions about how factors like food availability may influence social interactions among animals.
      Thank you for sharing!

The male knows his strength, thats why he fights with stable stance and very few moves. The female knows her limitations in strength, so she preempted him and smacked him down twice with her lightning quick moves, before he got into action and smacked her down finally.
She then smartly toned down the fight while keeping stance and he made the dominance walk and wisely avoided further fight.
    Both showed great character.

Female tigers larger than male lions, knowing that lionesses and tigresses are roughly equivalent and knowing the sexual dimorphy between lions and lionesses? In your dreams lol. And the male lion also knows his strength very well, and he rarely attacks females, only when they are defending their young and a lion who has killed the dominant male wants to kill the already existing young, but even there, the difference of power is such that one swipe and it's over, according to the reserve goalkeepers.
