No less than 4 hours ago, I watched a video clip of Shirley singing a song from "The Music Man" -- and I thought to myself "I need to learn more about Shirley Jones." Well, 4 hours later, the RUclips gods delivered this video to me unsolicited. Thank you! I fell in love with Shirley as a child watching The Partridge Family. I later saw her movies and loved her more. Love her still. Thank you, lovely lady, for sharing your talents with the world. ❤😘👍
All I knew is that thanks to my dad's job at the time, we were all able to see Shirley and Jack in "Maggie Flynn," on Broadway and loved it. And, no, it was not a real success in Broadway terms. But the costumes, the music -- the talent of these two people. There are things you don't forget.
Shirley Jones's children were against her marrying Marty Ingles and tried to stop him from marrying her, She was no Mary Poppins and would tell you this.
@@alancrisp1582😮 exactly and Julie Andrews did a movie to prove it where she flashed her tits. Just as she could be rid of that goody two shoes persona.
@@teel714 I’ll take ANY answer except that I slept Shirley Jones in Peyton Place. I’ve only seen the movie about 50 times. I’m too late in life to lose my grip on sanity!!😁
I thought that autobiography was TRASH, and I felt for her boys to have their mom pen it. Why she had the need to put that out to the public? She had a great career, that was enough info. To talk about her step son's element was very uncalled for. Cassidy was a lousy human, TERRIBLE father to David, and her glorifying him as a "renaissance" man is a joke. Jack wasn't a good person. His son David surpassed him on all levels.
I haven't read her book and won't, but I don't understand this narrator's condemnation of her sex life with her husband Jack Cassidy. It was their bidness, and I am disappointed to hear that she has written about it. Her poor kids!
I loved her in The Drew Carey show as she played Drews older love interest. She was always so pretty ,even into her golden years.

Her role in Elmer Gantry was one of her best ❤😊
The best.

No one could ever be Mary Poppins in real life, not even Julie Andrews herself !!....

I always thought Ingels was a really weird guy.
I was shocked when I read that she had married Ingles. But I guess that opposites attract.
More power to her for being a full,y rounded human instead of trying to look like some kind of saintly star. People are so judgmental.

REMEMBER SHIRLEY JONES WITH JACK CASSIDY
She was a great star singing and in movies like Peyton Place...
@lindadeal3344…strange but I can’t remember her in the movie Peyton Place.
@@michaelmitchell5098Maybe the person was thinking about Hope Lange?

There's another Shirley with a colorful, romantic, life story. Shelly(Shirley)Winters. The Burt Lancaster/Marlon Brando incident comes to mind.
I THOSE BLUE EYES NICE BUST AND BLONDE HAIR
Marty was a train wreck.
Why keep repeating the same info over and over again but never really saying much.
Never knew what she saw in that "poof" Jack Cassidy?
Past MISTAKES??
Hell No
I Salute this Lady!!
But if it was a man writing the same book
It would Fly to the #1 Spot + stay there
Always thought Shirley would have been a great cam girl
DAVID CASSIDY I think he.Died Due to Alcoholism

The most ravishing redhead with the everlasting smile
She was gorgeous! How does Anna Nicole Smith get so much attention and a classy, beautiful with slim but lady with a shapely body get ignored?
Gawd even dressed simply without makeup she is still gorgeous.
Shirley still has many fans around the world. Even Anna's fame will eventually fade out. Time is a cruel mistress.
