It costs 580 bucks for a second hand 35mm f1.2 here in Japan, is it true that this specific lens is way more expensive outside Japan? Considering the price difference, should I get one over other options?
Amazing lens. Exceptional quality but Sigma is chasing Sony when it comes to lens prices. For the price of this lens you can buy a decent (used) car in Poland.
Pfff... it's like comparing a truck and a car, sure they can both be used on a road but their purpose is completely different. Maybe some people need that kind of video to realise, alright.
I am no fan of Sony 35 1.8 and carry my sigma 35 1.2 everywhere. I even adapt it on my Z9 with adapter. The Sony has pretty ugly Bokeh and that's one main reason i sold mine and never look back.
Sure, why not? I think many people are considering a 35mm lens, but don’t actually need f1.2 and this big weight, that’s why I’m comparing it. And 35 f1.8 is a great lens for the money
Exactly. Not sure why this guy is being aggressive. Choosing a lens is a function of money and compromises you’re willing to accept. Thanks for the review, super helpful!
I mean hes not wrong a 1.2 vs 1.8 is not a realistic comparison a person who is looking at a 1.2 is looking for that fast glass , obliterated background. Probably would be better to compare the sony 1.4
What do you think of the Sigma 35mm f1.2?

35mm + 50mm GM + 85mm all f1.2 would be a dream trinity to me. Combined with A7SIII means I'll do more moonlight content.
I tested sigma 35mm f1.2. Its too heavy and dumb big for me which is not practical for long day shoot but thanks for your effort to review!
😎👌🏻
You cleared everything I wanted to know, thanks a ton! I loved the video!
I'm glad you did! Thank you!
I appreciate your time and effort making this for us.
Thanks bro! Stay tuned)
35mm1.8 Sony is just clear winner 🏆 for me anyway.
Thank you for this amazing comparison 👏
Thank bro) stay tuned))
Do you prefer the Sony 35mm f1.8 to
the Sony 35mm f1.5 GM? I love your work by the way 👌
Welcome mate) I’d say I prefer f1.8 because of the price and lack of focus breathing) stay tuned!
I own this lens. It's perfect. Never miss the focus. Maybe you did not update the firmware and that's why you're having problems
It was the latest firmware)

If you are able to get the Sigma 35mm f1.2 for 580 bucks in good conditions - it’s totally worth it

I do have the sigma f/1.2 35mm using it on a7r iii, thought pics would be amazing with that lens :(
I still want it for stills.

What about sigma 35 mm dg dn latest f1.4 How’s that ?
I heard a lot of disappointing comments on it… never tested it myself though
Soft towards the edge of the frame.
Every shoot I use it sigma f1.2 35mm
0:48 This doesn't look like a Sony A7SIII to me, it looks more like a Sony A7c to me.
Because it’s shot in S-Cinetone which I don’t really like, but I had to use it, because my clients wanted a baked-in look
@@NOlimitsON So when you shoot in S-Cinetone, the Sony A7SIII transforms into the body of the Sony A7c 🤣
@@ZoranOreskovic oh, I got you) This was the Sony a6300 - I just had to use a7s3 to shoot this)
i have the 1.4 and is amazing, I prefeet the 1.4 over the 1.2, is way better

If you’re ok about the weight and slow af - why not)
Dude. You’re Trying to compare a F1.2 with a shitty little f1.8!!!????
