The peak design wrist strap is my very best equipment. People are different 😅 I have sony 6600 which is relatively light so I guess that is one reason why a wrist strap is no problem.
Same here, except that I have a 6400.
@@carlvetters8857i use it with my a7IV and the Sigma Art 50mm f1.4… and I love it!
Z7 and still happy with wirst strap. 💪👍
Same here, I use it on a A7C
Same on a7cII even with my wildlife&portrait lenses; it’s just easier.
My wrist strap never leaves my camera. Definitely my most used accessory. I just like that if it slips out of my hand it won't fall. In not a fan of neck straps
Same here
Wrist Strap is essential for me, Not having one is the same as getting in a car without a seatbelt
THIS!!
I regret watching a lot of camera RUclips videos. 😂😂
Hahaha yesss 🤣
0:48 👍📸👍 "Allright welcome I'm excited, lets get started!" ... The perfect pick-up line! 😉 ... I'll use it on my next street photo shoot... Wish I'll get out of there alive 😉
I love my wrist strap! Im known to have butter fingers and drop things and the wrist strap gives me great piece of mind.
For some odd reason i have really taken to using wrist straps. I don't have neck straps on any of my cameras. I've done mostly street for over 3 years and it's just my thing, i guess. I feel less like a tourist without the camera dangling around my neck. I just use the $15 variety with a little pad and straps. Oops! They've gone up. $25
I love good quality ND filters. You don’t have to use the extreme ends but that mid range (which could be like 2-3 stops) can be super useful. Instead of carrying multiple filters especially in rapidly changing light conditions
Something SmallRig makes that I just bought for vertical capture is a NATO-rail clamp that extends into an Arca-plate. So now when I make vertical content for video, I just clamp the tripod plate onto the side of my camera on the already existing NATO rail and it perfectly turns into a vertical camera. Really nifty piece of gear.
Bought the original Atoll horizontal-to-vertical mount and the bottom is compatible with PD camera clip. I use it quite often. The PD clip is probably the best piece of equipment I ever bought. And the most used. I looked at the Smallrig and went for Atoll in the end. The Atoll goes 180degrees not the smallrig if I remmeber correctly.
Wrist strap: I did not like the way it closed down tight on me. This made it super awkward to use. I took it to a leather worker with a heavy duty sewing machine and had the strap modified to stay fully open. Love it now. I don't think of it as anti-theft, more anti accidentally dropping my gear when not using a neck strap.
Arsenal: I bought version 1. Got the same promises of fixes and updates. Decided "never again" with that one and did not bother with the second version.
Love the wrist strap for street photography. I have a pgy tech snap lock plate and put it on my battle clip when the camera isn’t on my wrist
I laughed so hard when you mentioned action camera accessories. Because you're so right!
Ikyk!!!
Hi Pierre, I don't have a wrist strap but the Accessory I regret buying is the Green and Yellow Flash diffuser Gels. To this date I still haven't used them. Thanks Pierre for your video, I really enjoyed it. 😊
Thanks Pierre 😊
I use the wrist strap all the time for street photography. I leave it wrapped on my wrist, then attach it to the camera before unclipping it from my shoulder strap, so my camera is always tethered to me one way or the other. Then no one can grab the camera from me, and if I forget it's not on the shoulder strap and let go of the camera, no problem.
Biggest regret? Normal C stands for lights. I discovered the flashpoint autostands, where the legs automatically collapse, which makes it way easier to carry around, and now I never use my old light stands that don't have this feature. (My house is my studio, so I don't have a big dedicated space to leave things set up.)
I agree Pierre. I usually keep a polarizer on my camera the last few trips and i find that the colors are much harder to edit afterwards. The colors also become uneven. Im donfisering going back to not keeping any filters on the camera lens any longer.
This list is so accurate, everything you mentioned is literally a return after 2 weeks or a dust collector.
P.S.: How often you have SD cards not in your camera bodies? That's the real question... :D I got two camera bodies and 4 memory cards, after the shoot, I always import everything to an SSD and the memory card go back to the camera :D
Probably not my most expensive, but the first thing that comes to mind is this left shoulder sling bag. I was in a rush and it was the only bag I could find at Best Buy. The problem is that I'm not a lefty and even though I thought I would get used to carrying the bag that way I just could never get into it. So now it collects dust in my closet as spare storage for a couple of my old DX lenses.
ahhh don't get me started on sling bags haha
The small peak design strap makes a loop for adjustment, i use the hole to kind of rest my hand while holding the camera, but i generally don't use any strap at all
I regret not checking the serial number on a Canon R5 which turned out to be grey market. But I'm going to use the heck out of it cause it seems to work great and from what I've read, even Canon US models break and have issues.
Peak design mid sized sling bag. Quality is excellent but it’s always a little too big for most day trips and not big enough if I want to carry more stuff.
I regret buying my Sony A7 IV. Not because it's a bad camera, quite the opposite actually. But I learned I prefer light cameras much more over bulky ones because of the weight.
I think im the opposite. I love my a7iv, but I wish it were bigger 🤣 I also have gigantic hands so that probably it. I really should just buy a vertical grip and be ok with it
i thought my nikon D7000 wasn’t good enough. So i bought a7s3, a74, a7r5, 70 200, 14, 24, 35, 50 1.2, 85 gmasters, 200 600, 90mm macro, laowa periprobe , zv e10 and much more only to realise that it wasn’t camera, it was me, not good enough!!
@@ThirdCamera lol you should see if the a9iii makes you better
@@charlie_james_photo I have smallrig cage 3667 for my a74 and a7r5, it will give a good feel for your big hands.
@@ThirdCamera I'm surprised you didn't learn that after the first 2 pieces of gear.
I use a variable ND filter with variable polarisation filter for my webcam (mirrorless camera). Great to just adjust the filter as needed instead of the camera settings.
Amaizing video so far, I think my most regretted gear is the dji Osmo action 3 because I could just to got some money and bought maybe a nikon z30 for filming video.
The dji Osmo action 3 was a bit bad for me because it had a fixed focus and wide lens. I really liked making videos up close.
I love the wrist strap so much and regret to buy peak design slide lite to use on my X-T4 😂
Re the rotating collar... I have the version designed to install directly on the A7Cii cage... and I use it every single day without complaint.
The version you got is for those not using the cage, and yeah, that's one harder to install.
Peter what was the underwater camera bag u we’re using?
What kind of quick connector do you use for the camera so that you can hang the camera on your bag and put the camera on the tripod?
right now the falcam f38 clip - check the description for more details :)
@@Pierretlambert Thanks, Does the falcam f38 clip base that has to be screwed onto the camera fit into the Peak Design Capture clip?
Amazing video Pierre. I regret buying a tablet because I wanted to use it for street photography to edit on the go and print photos to give people I photograph. I never used that and I sold that piece of gear. I recently bought an action camera to film street photography and started my RUclips channel. All the best from Romania☀📸
Most expensive item : Leica 50mm 0.95 Noctilux ...brillant lens but too big and heavy for the M system, in a way if defeats the purpose of the M system
DJI 3 ... bad timing, hardly used the drone , now it is a bit outdated
Leica D-Lux 7 : ignored the advise of my Leica dealer but he was right , I was not happy with the image quality...sold it after 6 weeks
Sony 100 2.8 SFT: too limited with regards to use cases., F-Stop, focal length etc...furthermore it is also the issue of having too much gear, too many lenses and in the end you figure out that you cover your needs with a couple of primes and zooms. So I sat down looked at what I really need and sold everything that was collecting dust on the shelf.
Techart - autofocus adapter M-E . It is half hearted for me, either use the M lenses and focus manual or use a proper AF lens/setup with snappy and reliable AF.
Ohhh thank you for sharing!!
Hard card case - waterproof! Fantastic piece of equipment. But if you don't cross rivers using your rucksack for buoyancy, probably not essential.
buying those cheap monopods with a tripod foot, nice to bring along but a real stable tripod is worth it weight. but these days the newer camera with stabilization and smart focusing systems have almost made tripods obsolete.
My favorite piece of gear is my black rapid cross body strap.
But since I retired a few years ago, I got a Sony a6600 with a wrist strap and it works fine for my casual needs.
The camera collar is my best and most used accessory, but it is only useful when the camera is on a tripod. The vast majority of my shooting is on tripods, I own 12 tripods, so the camera collar makes sense for me. It seems like you don't even have a L-plate so I assume you do very little vertical shooting on a tripod.
wrist strap of course, i had never used it xddd. Nice to see your videos again! waiting the next one, cheers!
good to see man
Gimbal for my cameras is barely used. I bought the pocket 3 for video instead, or take stationary camera video or just walk slowly w my iPhone.
I have bought none of them. I am thinking of investing in VND kit by NISI which comes with VND, CPL & Blackmist filters. Would appreciate your feedback on this subject before I go ahead and make the purchase. Need for the kit - Video work for lifestyle shoots
I have it and the quality is great!
how did you 3d print the hot shoe cover?
Hi Pierre or other viewer
I‘m getting into photography and would like to know what allaround lens i should buy for my Sony a7cii (it could also be a prime).
Love your Videos❤❤❤
Sony 24-50 f2.8
@@bldfear thank you so mich i also thought about that
Monopod. I got a really nice monopod for $250 thinking it was light and I could carry it around more. It stayed in my closet for two years. I got a 2lb tripod and take it everywhere.
I use a Ulanzi vertical adapter. It's a bit ironic, but I use it because my tripod is also a Ulanzi and turning camera to vertical position on it - is some kind of hell :))
Also, I dropped my beautiful 14mm f/1.8 GM because of this adapter. Its platform have no stoppers, and I did not tighten well, so camera slided off and dropped lens-down on the ground :(
My lumecube LED light would be the most regretted if anything. Not that’s it’s bad but I hardly find a situation where I use it. I kind of have to force a situation for its use.
My shortstache 1/4 mist cpl everyday filter is still pending, but to be fair I’ve only had it for a month and haven’t put it to real use yet.
I shoot 90% OCF and use the NiSi true color.... Amazing!
I plan on opening up my equipment closet to the public for the "Gear I used only once" tour...
Sign me up haha
Cher M. Lambert,
Francisco
Si tout marche pas de soucis :)
Mine is just car mounts for cameras. Planned to use them but didn’t lol. Think people need to take their time and understand their own needs 1st before buying things that turn out to not meet their needs lol
I regretted a Leica Q2 monochrome : felt like a brick , worst ergonomics ever and gave quite flat results
hello, i never regretted buying anything photography related, in fact I regret more HAVING to say goodbye and buy sth else. I get emotionally attached to cameras almost to the same degree I'm attached to my dogs. Not because I believe the camera has feelings, but because some asian kids have given up their fingers and education to make the thing i'm holding in my hands and not wanting it is a disrespect, that's why i spend years ensuring my next purchase.
The Arsenal 2 was a huge waste of money for me. Basically the camera needs to be on a tripod for the Arsenal 2 to be useful, but I rarely shoot photos on a tripod.
Its interesting you say the arsenal. I remember seeing the ads for this thing and being annoyed because its just yeaching people that you dont need to learn anything. Its point and shoot. Maybe im just an old man but, i dont get it. Whats the fun in that? Whats the point?
things he hate :
wrist strap
arsenal 2
vertical adapter
hard sd card space
variable nd filter
action cam tools
underwwater housing
see this comment if you do not want to waste 12 minutes watching long videos, or just speed up the video to save ur time
Well thanks!
c'est drole je me disais bien avoir vu une vidée de toi en français, good work translating prices EUR to USD, and having 2 videos on the same time on 2 different languages
Merci!
I regret buying any of the Moment mobile phone accesories. Very specialized adapters required and frankly, they never really improved phone photography.
Next is the two DJI phone gimbals. Too much drift to make them worthwhile, and they never really accommodated big, modern flagships.
Man all r nothings , my biggest SIN in my life i bought the sony a1 + 70-200GM ll .and since 2 years it has less than 5000 shutter count :((((
I bought a "blue streak" filter that I only used once.
A hard SD card case adds so much weight in your bag?
I think soooooooooooooooo much before to buy 😁 prices are become insane in photography 🙃
I can't stand having things around my neck. I love my Peak Design wrist strap, I use it all the time
If there’s a lesson here, don’t fall for the youtube hype, especially for things that all youtubers suddenly hype after an embargo has lifted.. let things rest a bit like a steak
I throw my memory cards in my bag 😁
Yes, Peak Design Capture Clip.
I regret my osmo pocket 1, it fell once and is gone forever
I regret the 1st pd everyday backpack, and the other 10 bags before it
I regret the pd carbon tripod, it's still heavy as shit
I have wrist straps on all my cameras.
Mij most expensive item was a nieuw ricoh GR3X had it for 3 months en 500 photo's then sold it dit not like it at all
Spyder Pro, Tripod, colorcards
My regret is purchasing a sigma fp and i haven't really used it.
I regret the 135mm GM 1.8 😢
Man I bought a ND filter and I never used it 😭
Je dois faire partie d’une minorité, mais mon wrist strap ne me quitte plus depuis que je l’ai acheté. Et je passe des heures avec….
I have tons of GoPro acc but most of them inside my waste box
Next things you regret didn’t buy it
gear I regret never buying. Hahaha great idea! Maybe in a year lol
sony 200600g
Arsenal was never going to be a success though lol
Just an fyi for everyone I seriously suggest not using those capture clip things that attach to your bag strap etc, if you have one I suggest chucking it in the bin.. why because your basically shouting to thieves look what I have. You’re literally a walking shop front for criminals with those things!. I personally use the peak design wrist strap all the time. Because it has an 80kg breaking point so there is not many thieves that will have enough strength to put 80-90kg of force into breaking your camera from your wrist strap!.
Depend on the situation this might be true. For example, street shooting in the city. But, if you are going hiking or shooting landscape, or shooting in closed event, this might be more useful.
@@dhavidcg yea true true I should have caveated my comment with a few exceptions. You’re far less likely to be mugged/robbed in the middle of the countryside. Apart from if your followed from where your parked or where you got off public transport, followed because the camera being visible on the capture clip. Same for the event really yes you’re far less likely to have someone try to rob you in the middle of a a canon press event. Still possible but degrees of magnitude different from in some city street.
So indeed indeed I should have said depending on the area your in, in a dodgy neighbourhood, middle of a city, public transport etc. so yea it’s good you’ve pointed that out and corrected me on that.
Then just sell it
