It’s either a big ass city of the new future, a badass Raider settlement, or a fortress that is invincible….this place is always getting the most creative ideas from the community XD
Facts. Starlight Drive-In has everything you could want in a settlement location. It’s got plenty of space, access to a water supply, natural defense towers, etc. All you have to do is wall it off essentially and you’re in good shape. I usually build some sort of wall structure around the outer edge and then place buildings in a circular pattern around the pond in the middle. Then I place an industrial water purifier in the middle of the pond with a few extra manual water pumps scattered around the area to easily refill empty bottles. I use the extra space for building a garden section for food and a marketplace for my vendors. Then I usually place checkpoints at the entrances and guard towers with turrets along the perimeter for increased defense. And as always I try and make room if possible for those sweet sweet Minutemen mortar launchers. If the settlement is attacked, I’ll usually grab a rifle with a scope and climb to the top of the theatre screen itself, as it makes for an excellent sniping nest.
I love your creativity I just looked at it like a tip 😂 I will have to make a city here! Curious, do you use mods to make building even better or just vanilla? I did a playthrough where every citizen of the settlement had clean laundered pre-war apparel, the shopkeepers were all in tuxedoes with fancy hats, it was such an awesome town.
I'm very new to the came due to the show. And I've only faced 2 deathclaws, your idea to some people may sound old but to me sounds like something I'd pay to see on the show
I love hangmans alley theres just something about building an apartment complex there thats always so rewarding. That and its pretty close to D city. Starlight is tied for second place with abernathy farm since I essentially built small western style towns there.
There’s a mod you can get that adds a small penthouse at the top! I always turn it into a small trading hub since, with the penthouse being patrolled. The penthouse is only three levels and easily customizable. The bedroom has a good view of the city too, so really good for dialogue too.
Turning Starlight into a fortress is magnificent, especially with Sim Settlements 2, and the ability to remove the projector/diner and projector screen.
It is a nice place. Who doesn’t want their own land that has its own drive-in theater? If it were in California, I’d name mine either Johnny Rockets or Ruby’s for the 50’s throwback. 😂
Blue train cars are an excellent way to quickly get some practical and good looking walls around the place, and they're the exact same colour as the central building!
Takes a few foundations but its a great spot! Ive got a fortress built on it with an indoor trading hub. I really enjoyed building there as its a blank slate with only 1 and a half small buildings work around 🫡
here is a good tip for supply line what you wanto to do is set up a settlments at every corner of the map and the center and then you set up the supply line so that each corner has supplies coming in and going out from every settlement and then set it up so that those 4 settlements are sending supplies to the centrt on and it will be like a trading hub
I always turn this it into my shopping district. With the Drumlin Diner, the chem pusher outside the diner, and Carla usually in a few spots nearby, its my go-to junk selling and cap stocking destination!
This settlement is like the perfect sandbox to test things out and for storage. I keep all my armor, power armor, and weapons(mods and base game) here on displays so I can see them rather than going through chests especially the armors for mixing and matching for settlers!
Theres a campfire mod that lets you turn the campfire into a workbench and scrap anything you want and start a settlement anywhere, the best settlements are ones built on highways with stairs leading up to them. You can build a whole safe city up there and put up a nasty defence on the only ai pathed entrance. With all workshop addons ans dlc, you got so many options. Like how about a concrete 9×9, 7 stories tall tower in the glowing sea? Or your own floating flotilla town on the ocean? Turn spectacle island into a maze with the ambush kit and infinitely farm exp and loot?
I usually built this place as a waypoint for my human provisioners. Automatron bots? A bug in the game (a common "feature" for games by Bethesda) tends to ALWAYS STRIP the mods on them and revert them to the base "naked Protectron" setup.
That's weird. I spread my robots out to be provisioners and the only one that reverts back to a basic robot is the one that goes from red rocket to the outdoor movie theatre.
@The Preacher I use it as a player home normally. Occasionally I've used it to test out new build methods and assets I've not tried yet, like the Grounded mod. I normally build in the same place the beach with the half sunk ships, between the blown out house and the hill with the workshop. It's the widest, smoothest area on the island.
I made a gaint ammo and munitions factory here. Bunch of garden beds of the roof producing stuff for adhesive. Downloaded a composter machine mod to turn scrap food into fertilizer.
