Ah, yes, u-joints. With my luck, I've had a needle bearing turn sideways in the bearing cap and lodge between the cap and the joint end multiple times. Had to take it all apart and start over. I also had the u-joint retainer strap stretch from age in my Duster, causing the caps to rotate and loosen the c-clip so I had major vibration. Looks like it went pretty well on your Dodge. The ball joint tool is perfect for pressing u-joints. Getting the Moogs with the zerk in the cap is a must. Clocking the zerks on the driveshaft so they both face the same direction makes future grease jobs way easier. Interestingly enough, the taper needle grease tool that works in those mini zerks also works great on regular zerks in super tight quarters. The yokes on my Duster's driveshaft are so close together that a regular grease tool can't reach. Anyway, love the old Dodge truck content
Please, please, please.... PLEASE. No matter what! (No matter what the RUclips algorithm tried to do in the past and/or what ANY random hater on the internet says...) PLEASE keep making these videos! You're clearly a wonderful creator, dad, husband, and DIY/"why not try it" enthusiast! A man after my own purpose... Love seeing the new videos, and though I personally enjoy the at-home DIY/how-to videos a bit more than the new car/fancy car upgrades, I will always watch! I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate all the hard work you do and the great content you create! Thanks, man!
Finally a video all about the dodge! Hahaha jk Jason, I know the weather hasn't been the greatest for working on her as of late. Nice video, very helpful! Keep the ol' dodge videos comin!
I love my Tundra but there's nothing like the look of those mid 70s to mid 80s pickups. Also gotta shout out that vintage green on white WA plate - I miss those!
I am the same. First found this channel for the old dodge oil leak video taking about the oil pan and rear main seal replacement. Except for two braces that are on the newer 5.9/360’s it was exactly the same on my 96. Dodge Ram. I have been thinking my u-joints are near needing replacement and have also watched the ChrisFix video on u-joints. I will probably tackle that job next summer as I am only just starting to hear the clunk and nothing more. Keep up all the great content.
Great video. I love the care you put into the truck with your videos. My dad used to have an old power ram so it’s awesome to see your enthusiasm maintaining the vehicle. :)
Do a video on the Borgeson steering shaft replacement for these trucks. I just installed one. Unbelievable difference. You won’t regret it. There’s no videos as good as yours out there showing the process.
I just picked up one a few days ago the same year and colors as yours that has been 100% disassembled. Found your videos today. Will be keeping an eye on your channel the truck looks great!!
Jason I have a good video idea for you. One of the common issues these things hat is the steering box seals will go bad because of their age. They make seal repair kits that are available online all over the place. A cool video would be showing how to do the seal replacements. The first gen guys are always talking about it. Keep up the good work man
Maybe next time servicing the rear differential check the vent line, pretty sure it releases pressure while the differential heats up. My line was clogged with dirt and that may have blown out the gasket
I'm working on my D150 82 and the next task on my to-do list is replace the u-joints. However I'm not sure if all u-joints are same size or there are differences.
My car sounds like shit and i changed the u-joints...changed pinion seal and it's still leaking all my diff fluid. Bouta scrap the whole thing!(not really) make more and more videos!
You should reconsider putting that diff cover on the factory one is designed better for more oil delivery to the top of diff check some videos out of clear diff covers and you'll see what I'm talking about anyway good job

Lots of awesome pointers Paul.
Always enjoy the old dodge content!
Heck yeah. Back when dodge made a good truck 👍🏼
I had a 2001 Dodge Dakota V8 Magnum. That truck was awesome. Terrible gas mileage, but other than that it was great.

Do me a favor and share videos with your friends. :-) The algorithm doesn't give my channel much love.
I have watched a lot of your old dodge vids because I just got a first gen from my grandad
Awesome, congrats. They’re great trucks.
Finally a video all about the dodge! Hahaha jk Jason, I know the weather hasn't been the greatest for working on her as of late. Nice video, very helpful! Keep the ol' dodge videos comin!
Your videos are great. They've been very helpful in my summer project on my 1975 D200.
I love my Tundra but there's nothing like the look of those mid 70s to mid 80s pickups. Also gotta shout out that vintage green on white WA plate - I miss those!
I originally started watching for Dodge content but relate to a lot of videos you put out. Always great to see a new video of it. Take care 👍
That's awesome to hear. Thanks Mike.

Keep grinding man. Your videos are great! You deserve hundreds of thousands of subs.
I’m trying. If anything this is a very fun hobby/side gig. But I am dreaming bigger than that.
Great video. I love the care you put into the truck with your videos. My dad used to have an old power ram so it’s awesome to see your enthusiasm maintaining the vehicle. :)
Please keep these dodge videos coming they help a lot with my 85 ramcharger
Thanks for the video i have a Power Ram 82 350 and i love her. Shes a beast
Awesome vid!!!!! Glad to see the dodge still "truckin"!!!!!!!
Lol Toby loves truck rides in the Old Dodge.
He gets mad any time I don’t take him now.

I've been waiting all day for this 😆
Thx for the refresher vid!

Thank you for everything you are doing. I'm going to run behind you from top to bottom on the 83 D150
thank you so much for the manual link!!!
Old Dodge rides again!!
love your dodge content i have the same exact truck and your videos are really useful.
Thanks very much.

Thanks Kris! I’ll check mine soon. I appreciate it.
Love your channel in general man. Love all the content
Many thanks! 4 Years on RUclips today!
Looks great! That rear diff cover has to add at least 10 hp.
Nice job.
I like the color of the truck
Yeah it's awesome.
Hey man put some cool rims and some cooper tires it will look much cooler,
Maybe next time servicing the rear differential check the vent line, pretty sure it releases pressure while the differential heats up. My line was clogged with dirt and that may have blown out the gasket
Also ill be doing a similar job on my 90 d150 in the spring.
Nice! I can’t wait to do a spray in bed liner next year
I'm working on my D150 82 and the next task on my to-do list is replace the u-joints. However I'm not sure if all u-joints are same size or there are differences.
I believe they're all the same size. RockAuto.com is great for looking up part numbers and checking on stuff like that.
Should have added unlimited slip rear diff additive
My truck doesn't have an LSD. :-)
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awwwwwhhhhhhhhhh YEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
It’s a fun one. Made a huge difference too. Those U-Joints were pretty bad. 😅
My car sounds like shit and i changed the u-joints...changed pinion seal and it's still leaking all my diff fluid. Bouta scrap the whole thing!(not really) make more and more videos!
You need to make sone more videos for this truck
You should reconsider putting that diff cover on the factory one is designed better for more oil delivery to the top of diff check some videos out of clear diff covers and you'll see what I'm talking about anyway good job
If its a Dana 60 you need to add friction modifier so the limited slip will work as intended
No LSD on my truck unfortunately.
I want to be the first to comment!
