I’m a Muslim. I appreciate the Rabbi’s take on Muslim-Jewish relations. As Muslims, many of us were taught that Jews were our cousins. I’ve had many great discussions about God with my Jewish friends, for the very reason the Rabbi spoke about. With regard to the slight differences in history, the Quran says that God will not ask us about this history, because we weren’t there to witness it. So to my Jewish cousins: May the peace and blessings of God be with you!

I am a Muslim, I keep reading the Qur'an and I found that in the Qur'an Allah commands you Jews to follow your Torah because you people consider Torah as the book of Allah but do not follow it if you doubt Muhammad It doesn't matter, at least follow the Torah completely and believe that Allah will surely make you successful. Muhammad did not bring a new message, but conveyed the same message as previous prophets. Allah is a unique term with no plural and no gender. Muslims believe in and worship the same One God that the Jews and Christians worship. He is the Only One worthy of our worship having no partners, no associates, no sons, no daughters and no one whom Hemust consult and no one or anything which has any comparison with Him.

I read about Islam growing up and was anti-semitic in my ignorance of Judaism, but once I reached a higher level of understanding in Islam now I read any books on Judaism as one and the same for spiritual guidance and inspiration. Like rungs on a ladder.

I ll tell you the story...If you really want to know it read the verse in the Quran that speaks about it. With tafsir ibn kathir.
We believe in the torah that is revealed to moses. But after moses some scholars changed it. The elite you know they change some things that they don like. We believe the religion of moses is islam. The religion islam is the religion of all prophets. The religion of Jesus and Moses. They had the same religion. Just like the last prophet Muhamed. But it can be that some prophets given some different rules of applying this religion but core belief is the same. The Torah you have now is changed in the core religion. Thats why it isnt the same religion anymore. So we reject the Torah of today. We cannot use it. But in the time of the prophet...the prophet was there so he can distinguish that which is from God.
2 Jews had commited adultery and the punishment in the torah is stoning to death. They came to the prophet Muhammed. Hence they knew he was a prophet!!!
They wanted to know what god has revealed about the punishment of comitting adultery. They were hoping maybe God had another punishment thats less severe than they have.
So they came to the prophet and pretended they want him to judge them from his book the Quran. So God revealed to the prophet Muhamed if you want judge them from The Quran or if you want from their Torah. Because the punishment was the same....
So they didnt accepted it. They only came to the prophet out of desires if they were upright in their Torah they would have accepted the punishment and died. But they love life more than the obedience to God.

I come from a very strong Muslim community, replete with Muslim families. We all have nothing but good things to say about Jews, the work ethic, their way of life and their approach to education is nothing but admirable. If anything, its very similar to the way we live. Generally uk schools put religious studies in the school curriculum as just an awareness of the main religions on the planet so it’s just a for info thing, as far as I am aware they are not trying to convert anyone. So it’s Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Sikhism, Hinduism and may briefly mention other faiths. There are faith schools too in the UK for the various religions. One thing they don’t appear to mention and I think it would be appropriate is to include Humanism as there are many today who do not have a ‘faith’.

I’m a Muslim and am absolutely not anti-Jewish in the least bit. Always felt more kinship towards Jews - both religiously and culturally - than anyone else.
