    I am a muslim, and i know this story : [al-Baqarah 2:65-66]
And Allaah tells us their story in more detail in Soorat al-A’raaf, where He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And ask them (O Muhammad) about the town that was by the sea; when they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday): when their fish came to them openly on the Sabbath day, and did not come to them on the day they had no Sabbath. Thus We made a trial of them, for they used to rebel against Allaah’s Command (disobey Allaah)
And when a community among them said: ‘Why do you preach to a people whom Allaah is about to destroy or to punish with a severe torment?’ (The preachers) said: ‘In order to be free from guilt before your Lord (Allaah), and perhaps they may fear Allaah.’
So when they forgot the reminders that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil, but with a severe torment We seized those who did wrong because they used to rebel against Allaah’s Command (disobey Allaah).
So when they exceeded the limits of what they were prohibited, We said to them: ‘Be you monkeys, despised and rejected’”

@@RotisivThe role of the prophets is to prove to the people that they will correct and change their actions, this is what Muslims and Christians do not understand - the fact that there is criticism does not stem from hatred. Unlike the words of Muhammad and Jesus, they speak out of hatred. The proof that God loves the Jews is precisely because he sends a prophet to speak to them because he cares. On the other hand, the fact that Muhammad speaks in a disgusting way about all Jews is an expression of hatred and jealousy, not something else. Every person makes a mistake and the wisdom to correct it - Muhammad and the Koran for some reason do not understand this. It also shows how reliable the Jewish Bible is that it presents a critique of what the Koran and Jesus do not do about themselves! Jewish literature, unlike non-Jewish literature, does not hide flaws. Just the opposite - highlights and emphasizes to correct, the opposite of all the religions of the Gentiles such as Christianity and Islam.

@Iyas kelu Nice try. But the Quran reserves criticism and praise for all communities, on the basis of their monotheism and obedience to God. Any criticism begins and ends with qualifications. The following verses are evidence of this:
"Lo! Those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Sabaeans, and Christians. Whosoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right, there shall no fear come upon them, neither shall they grieve."
      (Al-Baqarah, ayat 62)
"If you ˹O Prophet˺ are in doubt about ˹these stories˺ that We have revealed to you, then ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt,"
      (Yunus, ayat 94)
"And among the people of Moses is a community which guides by truth, and by it, establishes justice."
      (Al-A'raf, ayat 159)
"Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration."
      (Al-Imran, ayat 113)

As for hadith, there are copious hadith that simply are made up and irrational, even many of the so called "strong" hadith. This is a matter that, if God wills it, will be sorted out this next century amongst Muslims. Much of the strife within Islam comes from hadith that were invented or falsely attributed to the Prophet Muhammad by rulers later on that wanted to claim whatever ridiculous thing they tried to pass off as proper or decent as some sunnah.

I need a Muslim scholar that can answer the athousand questions I’ve about Islam, maybe it’s from then that I can convert to Islam. Islam has spread by sword, your prophets armies killed one of our clans (Quraish).. The Banu Qurayza (Arabic: بنو قريظة‎, Hebrew: בני קוריט'ה‎; alternate spellings include Quraiza, Qurayzah, Quraytha, and the archaic Koreiza) were a Jewish tribe which lived in northern Arabia, at the oasis of Yathrib (now known as Medina), until the 7th century, when the men were sentenced to death and women and children enslaved after they betrayed the pact made with the Muslims[1] following the Invasion of Banu Qurayza by Muslim forces under Muhammad.

@@uriariel958 Actually they were punished according to judaic laws if anything. as for quraish, it's the clan of the prophet himself as well as the ones who persecuted them before there was even an army.
Mohammed died after unifying the land of the arabs and never stepped foot outside, after that the khilafa came into conflict with the sassanid and roman empire and rightfully fought war against them. after that came a period of caliphates who strayed away from the religion, some upholded it. the biggest one that strayed the most was the ottoman.
while islam itself never contributed to that nor did the prophet, the people themselves did. In islamic law, you can't kill without justice and truth, and you cannot wage an aggressive war, until you are attacked first, and seek peace when peace is offered.
In practice that is hardly respected and you can see it to this day, there are many islamic nations but none of them implement fully the islamic law. they pick and chose the part they want.

I'm not comfortable with him referring to the Qur'an as "Muhammad salla Allahu alayhi wa salam says", he was only a messenger conveying the message. The Qur'an is Allah subhanahu wa taala's words which He subhanahu wa taala revealed to the angel Jibreel alayhi assalam, who then went to Muhammad salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam and recited it to him, then he in turn would recite it to the people salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam.

An Ape in classical poetic Arabic is a way of describing an "Imitator" i.e. Those who violate the Sabbath be ye apes, despised" The Quran is explaining to the Jews that those of you who violate Shabbat , are not practicing the mitzvoth in the way they are supposed to be kept. The story in the Quran which calls Jews apes refers to a group of Jewish fisherman who set traps on Shabbat.

Paul is not telling Jews to stop keeping Shabbas in Romans. His main argument is that justification did not come by keeping the Law even though the Law itself is holy, righteousness, and good. The Law is good in that it shows us God’s holiness and our sinfulness, but it imparts no power to live righteously. Paul implores the Roman believers to rely on the Spirit to accomplish what the Law could not. Paul himself still went to synagogue on sabbath, but he did make it clear that is was not binding on the church whether they be Jew or Gentile. Jewish believers in Jesus certainly had the freedom to still observe the Sabbath and go to the Temple. Christians have received no command to meet on Sunday and nowhere is it stated in Scripture that Sunday is the “Christian Sabbath.” They are only commanded to not forsake meeting together.

As the Quran explains... If you have doubts in the Quran or don't understand the verse in the Quran? Ask those who have knowledge of the books, ex. Jewish Rabbi and Christian scholars, who know better than any one else in their history of the books.. And i find this as a Muslim, very fascinating to hear from the the good Rabbi explaining some of the Quran's verse that are in the Torah and Anjeel.

Qur’an: And lifted the mountain over you: “at-Tur” (الطور ) is mountain; that is why has been substituted by “al-jabal” (الجَبَل = mountain) in verse: And when We wrested away the mountain over them as if it were a covering overhead (7:171). “an-Natq” (النَـتْق = to wrest away; to pull out).
The verse at first mentions taking of a promise; and ends with the command to take hold of what they were given and to bear in mind what was in it; in between it refers to the lifting of the mountain over them, without saying why it was lifted.
But the context clearly shows that it was done to frighten them without putting them under compulsion, in order that they might obey what they were told - if Allah had wished to compel them, there was no need to take any promise before.
Objection: If we were to take the sentence, “and lifted the mountain over you”, in its literal meaning, it would be a miraculous sign that would have forced the Israelites to obey the given command under duress and coercion; but Allah says:
    There is no compulsion in the religion (2:256);
. . . will you then force men till they become believers? (10:99).
Reply: The objection is baseless. The sentence shows only that they were threatened and frightened. Just lifting the mountain over their head was not enough to coerce and force them to believe and obey. Otherwise, most of the miracles shown by Musa (a.s.) could be termed as “compulsion”! The said questioner has tried to explain away this sentence in this way:
“The Israelites were at the foot of the mountain; it was shaken violently and during that convulsion its summit loomed over them, until they thought that it was going to fall over them. It is this natural phenomenon that has been described as pulling out the mountain and lifting it over them.”
Such misinterpretations emanate from rejection of the principle of “miracle” altogether. We have already written in detail on this subject. If we were to explain away the verses of miracle in this way, no speech would remain safe from distortion; and no sentence could be taken to mean what it says; as a result, all the norms of eloquence and literature would lose their value.
Qur’an: so that you may guard (against evil): “La'alla” (لَعَـلّ) is a particle meaning “perhaps”, “may be”; it denotes hope - the speaker may be hoping for something, or the person spoken who gives rise to the hope, or the situation justifies the hope although the speaker or the listener does not feel optimistic himself.
In any case, it implies some uncertainty about the final outcome. When this particle is used in a divine speech, it indicates hopefulness either with reference to the listener or in context of the situation; but it can never refer to the speaker, that is, Allah, because He can never be uncertain of any result. It has clearly been explained by ar-Raghib in his al-Mufradat. Therefore, whenever this word is used in the Qur'an, it is translated as “so that . . . ”, “in order that . . .”

The Quran has many biblical stories retold with plenty of things added and left out because who is he to criticise Islam YET he'll criticise the Gospel because ONE word is changed from the Old Testament to the Gospel. This is extremely hypocritical and biased.

Big Fan Rabbi. Peace. The reference is strictly and clearly to those who Transgressed the Sabbath. After reminding the Jews of God's favor upon them, that he chose them and provided them prophets and guidance, that they are promised paradise if they believed then the scripture says:
    وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱعْتَدَوْاْ مِنكُمْ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُواْ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ (65)
And yea well knew who transgressed the sabbath amongst you, so we said to them be as well as apes despised (65).
Qur'an Chapter 2. Al Baqara. The Heafer.
God is saying if you do not obey God's clear given law, violate the Sabbath, disobey what is clearly God's law, what is the difference between you and a lusty, indifferent ape.
Personal note: *There is* a mountain over you, and over us. A mountain of responsibility as believers, to follow the guidance as best we can, to declare war on our base instincts and inclinations (jihad), to show kindness, mercy and charity to all dispossessed and to follow the Scriptures given to us in all of God's creation. Plant, animal and human. If you don't think that is a mountain, I don't know what is.
There is another mountain of mention in the Qur'an:
    لَوْ أَنزَلْنَا هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٍ لَّرَأَيْتَهُ خَاشِعًا مُّتَصَدِّعًا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (21)
And had we sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, you would see it fearful and contrite from the Majesty of God; and these are the parables We expound for people that they may reflect (21)
Qur'an Surah Al Hashr - Chapter of the Gathering (the last gathering, day of judgement), Chapter 59.
