This is so close to AG's style. The ending had a touch of Hercle Poirot delaying the reveal of the culprit. ❤ The reader too has perfect voice. I could listen to hlm reading the phone directory.

How wonderful! Val McDermid writes Miss Marple. What a combination. The narrator was brilliant too.

Yes, the narrative sounded more like spoken English than a lot of the ai sounding books I've listened to recently.

A note of appreciation to the narrator. Your voice does not trip up the imagination 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This was so well done, I looked up the author and found out a) she's scottish (ie amazing!) And b) she's been told by the Christie estate that she can't use the "queen of crime" because that's copywrited to AC. Judging by this story, she can use the moniker IMO.

The first line is from the importance of being Ernest with the word murder thrown in. So that’s my cue to listen to Oscar Wilde again.

The atmosphere is right. The plot is totally wrong. Where is the famous.analogy with other persons. Miss Marple is about psychology, she isn’t a Sherlock Holmes searching for physical clues. And Christie wouldn’t hide clues, she hides the meaning of the clue. But the reader knows them all the time. This shows how good Christie really was.

A good writer should put his name on it. This is not Agatha Christie’s and you depended on her name.

The story is written by Val McDermid. Her name is in the description too. For the future, I will make a note to put the name on the title screen too. Thank you.

The narrator was excellent. But the story disappointed me as it was so unlike Agatha Christie's Miss Marple. Miss Marple was not a busy body, visiting the neighbors to collect gossip. She was an expert in personality types and human nature, she didn't go investigating clues. Still, I enjoyed the story and would listen to more.
