Thanks for watching today's video. Here's the list of 5 things to consider before you switch internet plans: Pricing: How much does it cost? Is a contract required? Any deals? Equipment: Is it included or how much will it cost? Data Caps: Does the plan include unlimited data? Speed: Am I paying for more speed than I really need? Installation: Do I need to pay for a technician or can I do it myself? I update limited-time deals on home internet and other ways to save here: michaelsaves.com/deals/deal-alerts/
@@SpeakermanGaming.Give a call over to spectrum because if your router has not been updated every 2 to 3 years your internet will drop. There is no extra cost to change the router. I’m looking at changing though because we pay out $236.69 a month for our internet, cable and mobile plans for two 2️⃣phones and a cellular watch.
The T-Mobile tower is about 200 yards from my house for Home Internet. I get around 350mbps download on average. Best money ever spent so far for internet.
I've had all three. I recently got AT&T fiber (300) for $55/month. There is no contract, no other charges and it is consistently fast and reliable. No regrets.
Had it after a couple months they throttle this shit out of your internet tried telling me it was my computers location but i kept that and the router in the same location from the first to the last day having at&t but after like 6-9 months I went from 300 mbps to 5 if I was lucky calling threataning to change isps fixed it for a week
As a 45 year ATT customer, They sold me ATT fiber seven years ago they rented me a VOIP modem and only got me 5 up and two down for ATT their sales reps blamed their infrastructure upgrade on why I no longer had an account or phone anymore. Their minions said I was only allowed to call 911! Imagine if I called the cops to report AT&T told me to! Their arrogance is appalling! I am soon to die and I don't need this level of harassment in my last days. I paid my bills and was totally shafted by all ISP's WTF!! All I want to do is watch others vacationn videos! Go Wonderhussy!
Just dropped from a home package (TV, Phone, Internet) to internet only. Bill was $175 now $75. After watching this, I'm shopping for something lower. Thank you!
I had the same package from Xfinity and paid $212/mo. Went to Sling TV and pay $55 (price includes 2 add ons for $24) and $102 for internet from Xfinity. There were no other options except Xfinity last year in my area but now there are a couple. Going to change as soon as I can.
I canceled my AT&T home internet over a month ago. Returned all equipments Have receipts from UPS. They are trying to charge me over $600 for early termination. When I was with them for 19 years. Go with anyone other than AT&T.
I tryed T-mobile internet for 3 months, 2 kids that game , and I stream TV, so the caps of the local big internet providers were killing me. It only averaged 24mbps most of the time, which was surprisingly enough for it to keep up, but it would drop down to less than 5mbps several times a week, and nothing would work well. Sometimes, a reset would fix it. If I had a window that faced the tower, it might have worked, but as soon as AT&T came through with their fiber and no cap for only $20 more a month, I jumped on it!
I'm in the SF Bay area and switched to Verizon home internet 5G about 10 months ago. Speeds have been consistently above 300 down and around 20 up. Very pleased with the service and, since I'm a Verizon wireless customer, only $25 per month. Much better than my former AT&T DSL and a much lower cost and reliability.
I appreciate the time you spent to inform your viewers. I have had Xfinity for about 5 years now and just this year my TV/Internet bill has gone up 3 times and it is only Sept. When I call Xfinity, I can never understand the person on the other end (no offense) and I don't want to offend them because they are just doing their job (bring customer service back to the US). I have to constantly threaten to leave in order for them to drop my price a ridiculous $20. HELP!!!!
I have xfinity and after and during the storm still no internet and no ata also going through verizon for cell service and only getting 2 bars its really bad right now makes me feel like both companies may not be the best option due to xfinity raising the internet price for unlimited usually also for verizon its wild that the cell service is still down right now you'd think having 5g would help but no.. Also live right next to a tower.. I heard Mint is amazing for cell service due to flexabilty also have a friend who has had service this hole time during the icestorm. Sorry for the long rant but maybe it'll give you some perspective, If anyone knows a great unlimited internet option for Pc Gaming let me know!:)
LOL, You worry about offending them when you are paying them to offend you. Stop being silly. It is offensive to give me customer service when I can't understand the person.
I am lucky to get a live agent with Xfinity. It's like pulling teeth. I give them a poor grade for customer service. Also like you mentioned.. price keeps going up. I am done with Comcast Xfinity
I was paying 55$ a month with em got 300 mbps but recently my bills have doubled for no reason. It’s jumped to 125$ a month I’ve called multiple times they lowered it once back to its original 55 but again it’s started going back to its 125$
We have been Google Fiber customers for a couple of years and are extreme;y satisfied with it. The monthly cost is $72 and includes one Google Wi-Fi transmitter. Due to the configuration of our home, we added a second transmitter for about $50 one-time purchase. Download and upload speeds are in the 900 Mbps range, and Google offers billing credits if there are outages. Google Fiber has been very dependable and outages are few. The additional benefit was that we were able to pull down a couple of decades' worth of cable wiring from the exterior of our home!
I switched from T-Mo to AT&T fiberoptics. No fee install, better signal speeds, both up and down. The 300/300 plan at $55 is working well for me. It's just $5 bucks more than T-mobile and I can always pump it up to 500mb or $1 GB if I ever needed to in a flick of a switch. We are truly entering the zone where data speeds will no longer be an issue.
Like the idea of fiber but AT&T isn't guaranteeing any long term prices and will be just like the cable companies and start raising the rates after a year.
No contract, so no problem there. I could always switch to another fiber optic company and since AT&T installed the line for free, switching would be seamless. Also, keep in mind that there are more and more options coming daily so the thought of a price hike is not very likely. If anything, they may go down. Since I work from home, I actually upgraded to the 1GB speed at $80 per month. It's overkill for what I do, but the blazing speeds are so enjoyable.
Some providers are getting sneaky with the router rental fees. Like they'll claim it's included with the cost and doesn't cost you anything extra, but it actually does increase the bill.
I switched over a few months ago to Verizon. I do not get 5G because its not in my area. So far we have not had major issues with slowing. If we have had some they usually only last a couple of minutes. Thanks for the informative videos!
Just switched over To att fiber vs spectrum. Night & day. Fiber is a dedicated line vs spectrum your sharing signal with everyone around u. Fiber giving true speed # for what u pay for.
I just switched to Tmobile Gateway and it works most of the time, but lately I have had to do frequent reboots. I'm keeping track of them to see if I might need a new Gateway. It'as amazing that a Gateway on the 2nd floor can reach all the way to my Roku in the basement.
I pay $39.99 per month for Verizon FIOS lowest tier, which is 200 up and down. I switched from Cox when they refused to meet the price for a reasonable speed, and haven't looked back.
In our semi-rural area, none of the cellular services are worth a bleep. ATT/TMOBILE/VERIZON all claim we are in high coverage (5g ultra or whatever they call it), but when you bring the device into the area, we hardly have a signal at all, and the download speeds are in the kilobytes. The cable is Charter Spectrum and while they'll sell you 500Mbps or 1Gbps, the service rarely does better than about 50 to 80Mbps when it is up. AT&T dsl service is limited to 21Mbps but we've never seen that- more like 5 or 6Mbps. They've said we'd receive fiber since it was launched; but still no signs. Oh, and we're in the b-contour for antenna TV, so you need a 40+ft tall antenna, which isn't allowed in the area.
I’m grandfathered in with AT&T fiber 1 gig for $70 mo including free HBOMAX. So as long as I keep my Att Uverse internet I won’t lose my HBO max. I find that my fiber internet is much more reliable especially with having multiple people in my home working from home and also being a streaming home with DIRECTV stream and other streaming services.
Try Sling TV. Base price is $40/mo and add on channels that you don't have in your plan range from $10-$12. I pay $55 total. (You get 50 hrs of free recording too but pay a little extra for more3) Works great!
I have A T & T Internet Air (5G service. We got rid of Dish and have been using RUclips TV since the end of last month. Have had no complaints with my speed. I also look forward not to have to clean the dish off during snow storms. We used to have DSL for internet but this is so much faster. I also have brother that switched to the Internet Air over cable service. He has had no regrets. He had also had You tube TV for years now.
I never had problems with ATT U-Verse & I had that for 10 years. Ran great & ran HD vids with no probs. Unfortunately, I gave it up to try their 5G Air Hub for a cheap price/year and it worked great for a coupled weeks, but now I keep losing internet connection. One night, I had to re-boot 6 or 7 times until I did a hard reset. Even moved the Hub to another room. Mind, I only live in a 860 sq ft home! And only me living here. Getting real pissed & ready to ask for my U-Verse back!
I'm using T-Mobile 5G home internet, and my experience is far better than when I had Spectrum. My average download speed is 400+ mbs download, but my upload speed averages almost 30 mbs (let me point out that T-Mobile's average download and upload speed is 2x faster than Spectrum's at half the price). I do have the luxury of having a T-Mobile tower about 2 miles from me. And I installed roof mounted antennas. Without the antennas on the roof, the performance I would get is comparable to Spectrum. I worked from home and I would get unexpected connection interruption with Spectrum. I've never experience any interruption with T-Mobile. I've tested T-Mobiles bandwidth by simultaneously streaming 4K contents on 4 4K tvs with little to no buffering. I'm truly impressed with T-Mobile. I would have never leave Spectrum if it delivered on its promise. Spectrum made me become a "Cord Cutter". I'm sure fiber internet has some kick ass speed, but I'm satisfied with what I'm getting with T-Mobile and the price. I did have 3 existing lines with T-Mobile before I switch to their internet, so my monthly cost comes out to $40. That's more that half of what I was paying for Spectrum.
I just brought home T Mobile Home Internet for their 15 day trial. I currently have Spectrum 300 and I pay $110 a month for it which seems crazy. On first test, T Mobile is giving me wifi speeds over 400 mbps! That is actually almost twice as good as what I get with Spectrum. My wife works from home and must have secured network so not sure if it will work for us, but willing to try for the price!
Interesting video. I'm using the gig service from AT&T fiber as I work from home (lots of video calls w/ customers and co-workers, uploading and downloading large presentations, etc.) and it runs about the same or cheaper than the local cable company (Cox)... and my impression is that it is MUCH more reliable. If I didn't feel like I needed the gig speed or the rock-solid reliability, I'd be looking hard at those 5G services...
When I told ATT I was dropping them, they couldn’t get the “deals” out of their mouth fast enough. Went to T-mobile got our phones and 5g internet unlimited on both $120/ month
I have Xfinity 1G for my internet and 2 phones for my mobile with Xfinity. I pay $95 for internet and $30 for the 2 phones with unlimited text and calling. That's $125 a month for the internet and 2 phones. I got 2 Galaxy A53 5G phones for free around Christmas time. I use RUclips TV for my cable and have Netflix and Disney Plus for other streaming programing. Disney Plus gives me Hulu and ESPN Plus for $13 a month. Thanks for your time and videos.
I left Xfinity after my cost went to $212/mo for internet ,TV and landline. I had to use them for internet since there were no other options last year and I pay $102/mo. I went to Sling TV (Internet). The basic cost is $40/mo but it's a little more to add on if your plan doesn't have channels that you want. I ended up paying $55/mo and I like it!
We have T-mobile 5g home internet and I average between 250-300 downloading and about 20 up. In my experience T-mobile 5g home internet has been more reliable than comcast both for the network and price. I’m in Sacramento county in California. I love more than anything the lifetime price guarantee.
We've had t-mobile home internet for about 5 months and it runs 70-80 up and 20-25 down. We have had some issues of dropout coverage but it hasn't been terrible. We switched from Optimum because we were tired about our prices going up even though they promised they wouldn't. We've also had lots of mail offering deals to come back.
@@aligned4good Agreed. I tried T-Mobile home internet for 30 days and averaged 50 Mbps download speeds and 15 Mbps upload speeds when it was working. From 5 PM to 10 PM speeds were half that or the service did not work at all. Overall I found that at least 5% of the time I was without working internet. Hate to say it but I would not use this as my primary home internet service even if it was free. Fast and reliable internet is worth far more than the $60 - $80 you would spend on a legit cable or fiber internet plan.
Very happy with T-Mobile 5g internet and Directv streaming. Switched from Uverse and saving little over $100 monthly. Uverse was a better user interface but certainly not worth $100 more.
I have T-Mobile home internet and am satisfied with the service. 48.5 Mbps download. I have my TV and other device connected without any connection problems . Everything works just fine . Thank you for sharing those updates.
Thanks for the message. I completely agree and when and if a new provider comes to the area Spectrum will be gone. What is difficult to understand is Verizon ran fiber optic cable down our road and has not attempted to promote their service. The fiber has been installed now going on 2 years. Currently we are still hostage by Spectrum.
The only provider we have in Upstate New York is Spectrum and it is 79.99 per month. When and if a new provider comes to the area we will kick Spectrum to the curb. Spectrum is a monopoly and has the subscribers hostage for now. State government has done nothing to protect the subscribers. Internet should be treated like a utility and regulated as such.
BTW Spectrum purchased Time Warner Cable in Upstate New York and all the infrastructure was already installed. So all Spectrum did was purchase the existing company and jack up prices. Really nothing changed except the monthly charge. Spectrum did nothing but take over TW. Again the benefit of monopoly. They are the only internet provider in the area. Now Spectrum has closed the local service offices. Internet monthly charges have doubled since the take over and Spectrum's stock price has increased by ripping off the former Time Warner subscribers. Again, where is our government protection? When you are the only bar in town drinks get expensive.
That’s around what I used to pay when Spectrum first took over. The price has gone up exponentially each year. Last summer my bill reached $105/month. It’s irritating but I haven’t been able to find a different provider for my area. As you said, they pretty much have a strangle hold on people in my area right now. I’ve still been looking around and trying to find something else. The second something comes up, I’m dropping them. Their customer service is terrible, and as much as we are paying, we still have difficulty streaming movies in our house semi regularly. Trash company.
I’m paying $190 for Xfinity and did a little pricing comparison. T-mobile 5g is not available in my area, but AT&T Fiber is going to cost me $55 a month. It’s a no-brainer.
There's a good gift card deal on AT&T Fiber right now with a promo code. If you go to my website, I have it toward the bottom of this page: michaelsaves.com/deals/deal-alerts/
It's coming up on a year with Tmo 5g home internet. I test every so often at all times of the day. I just checked the speed with Xfinity for 240mbps down and 21mbps up. That's the slowest up I've seen, usually at least twice that. Btw I read that there is no such thing as 10G. More bS from xfinity 8:10 pm central, 280 down 70 up
Exactly the best use I have found for 5G home internet so far is to supplement a real internet connection. It is basically a glorified mobile hotspot with unlimited deprioritized data. In no way is it a proper home internet connection.
I was with Spectrum for years but switched to Frontier 500 about 6 months ago. Never had any interruptions. everything works smoothly. I get it free thru ACP .
We pay $72 a month for 1Gig AT&T Fiber, which includes no data caps and HBO MAX. It was about $92 a month until I contacted them about a $20 discount for 12 month deal I saw. I was also able to get an updated WiFi 6 gateway, but that was a headache to wrangle.
I have the same att plan with HBO max for $60 per month. I also have the TMobile home internet at $25 for life. If att drops HBO max, it's probably gone.
I'm also thinking about getting that new white router but I'm doing ok with the old black router...but I just want to see the new wifi range on the new router...how is it?
My wife and I are seniors on a fixed income. We live in an apartment. Our apartment complex only gives us 2 options for internet. Spectrum, which is 300 mpbs and costs 79.99 (because we don't bundle with their tv service anymore) + 5.00 equipment fee. The other choice is AT&T internet 25, which is only 25 mpbs and is 55.00 per month. That would save us 30.00 per month but is 25 mpbs fast enough? We don't do games, and we only have one tv and a desktop computer. We've dropped youtube tv and replaced it with frndly tv and paromount plus which totals about 15.00 per month but we are still just barely making it. Why are apartment complexes so limited in their choices? At the last house we lived in we had AT&T Internet 50 at 50 mpbs which seemed to work well for us. I don't understand the 25 mpbs speed limit here. The only way spectrum will lower the price is if we bundle with their tv service. We just can't afford it. Don't know what to do.
Ugh -- this is tough. 25 Mbps *might* be OK, but if you use Wi-Fi like most people (not directly connecting devices to your gateway) the speed is often cut in half -- so 12.5 Mbps let's say. If I were you, I would probably stay with Spectrum if you can find $25 elsewhere in your budget to cut costs. It all depends on your priorities I would also keep an eye on T-Mobile and Verizon's 5G services as they expand.
The information you provided in the video was extremely helpful. I have spectrum Internet only I pay $64.99 monthly it was 54.00 until they added a price increase.
I'm in the Houston area and I have Xfinity as my internet provider. I pay $50/month for 800gbps. There's no contract. However, I do have an agreement that the price won't change for 2 years. A month before the agreement ends, I start looking for better deals. I have my own equipment which saves me about $15/month and I have auto pay which saves an additional $10/month. The only downside is that you're capped at 1229gbs for the month. If you go over, you're charged $10 for 50 extra gbs. They give you 2 complimentary months to use if you go over.
You can usually pay for the Xfi service which is an extra amount not more than $50 extra a month that I’m aware of. Then no cap at all. I had to get it as we kept going over. I’ll have to verify how much I pay I think it’s $30 a month.
I had at&t internet service since the DSL days like 20 years ago or so...now i have 1GB Fiber and I never had any major issues and at&t would always work with me on pricing. Currently I'm paying $70 for 1GB speeds and that includes HBO MAX...so its a good deal. I don't really need that much speed but since the 1GB plan included HBO Max I got it.
Very informative video, thank you. I only pay Verizon FiOS $40 for my Internet. I am auto pay. It would be have been 50 bucks. I cut the cord last year have an antenna that pulls in a lot of stations. I am between Baltimore and Washington DC so reception is good, I do have Sling for some channels and they have a really good on demand feature also
I live in Bayarea Cali & have HOME comcast cable internet for almost a decade now, REALLY Solid reliable service internet thats for sure NO doubt & LOVIN IT & i have my own Motorola modem/router .. always get a deal once a year every year for my 1 gig speed, st8 up one price every month for 12 months , really happy with it no issues whatsoever 👍👌
In rural areas most are not available. I have T-Mobile and am grateful to even have internet. It is limited to 100gb per month and slow but at least I have it and I can take it on the road. My nest home the number one priority is high speed unlimited internet.
One of the happiest days in my life was telling comcast “bye bye”. T-mobile is serving us well and we are both Xbox gamers who play together! Never any bandwidth issues.
I get my home Internet service through my cellphone carrier, Metro by T-Mobile. My monthly fee is $103.00 because I'm paying for a cellphone/Internet 'bundle. The service is perfect for me, I live in downtown Baltimore City.
Exactly I live in Palm Lake Dr which is in Jacksonville, Florida. And WiFi 5 goes up to 866 Mbps, WiFi 6 speed goes up to 1.2 Gbps, WiFi 6E speed goes up to 2.4 Gbps^2.
My sister bought land in the desert almost 20 years ago then built her custom dream house on it and moved in in 2009. Problem is, as nice as it is, Cox cable (the local ISP) was not in her area and neither was the phone company's fiber optic network, because it wasn't a pre-planned community with several track homes built and laid out with fiber optic and cable in advance then sold individually. So up until a couple months ago, she was getting at most 1.5 mbps and sometimes as low as 600 kbps! That is because neither fiber optic or cable was in her immediate area (though she lives in Phoenix) she was forced to go with the phone company's old copper lines, and they are only as fast as their nearest service hub. For the longest time her only other option was satellite which is very expensive and not as reliable due to whether. She has DirecTV thru them but the Internet speed was so shameful that I could barely get the Ring cameras I installed and set up there to work. Finally, two months ago as a Verizon customer she got the 5G home Internet and for her even 100mbps is screaming (after all, it is 100x what she's been getting for 14 years)!
It's really knowledgeable dear I have worked for both spectrum charter and Comcast but these all are competitors of each other well I'm sales guy I have been out of the market several years this video is amazing these are all their tricks to get more customers as I remember spectrum use to give buy out plan for 500$ and also paying terminations fees in 2017 this business is really serious drama putting hands into a sharks mouth for awhile knowing what comes next but my favorite will be Comcast always
Switched from XFINITY (internet, cellular, tv) to Fidium Fiber, RUclips TV & T-Mobile. XFINITY just got too expensive. Now, fewer contracts, faster internet, & cheaper. It is a bit of a hassle switching mobile providers. Now I’m watching RUclips TV, along with my other streaming services through my Apple TV 4k. It’s a pretty amazing experience. Highly recommend if you’re already part of the Apple ecosystem.
The average cost of 500 mbps speed plan with Cox in Phoenix is $90/mo. (more for faster, less for slower), though I get bundled and special promotional discounts. However, expanded cable TV, Showtime, HBO and box rentals (except for DVR's and CableCARDs) are included with our HOA fee. So cutting the cord would be dumb because we are still paying for it (at about 70% off) thru our bulk contract for the resort condo community where I live. Therefore, when my latest DVR rental died a month ago, I turned it in and got a no-fee receiver box only, then ordered a new Tivo Edge for cable with CableCARD from Cox (which does cost $6/mo. since not included in our HOA like standard receiver boxes are). The Tivo Edge with no subscription fees (lifetime paid) and a 5-yr. warranty plan was just $450+ tax. I was paying at least that in monthly DVR box rental & service fees in less than two years with Cox.
@@MichaelSaves Ah yes, Florida. The "other" resort state with private condo communities and often notorious HOA's, LOL. It might be wise to mention those whose cable is included so as not to imply that everyone who has a cable subscription (or looks for a solution that includes one) isn't just stubborn, foolish or wasting money, which is sort of the implied tone of your cord-cutting videos, although it is understandable -- and I mostly agree.
Biggest issue is pricing. Sure Xfinity is faster but in our area its $100 month just for internet. If T mobile can just make it so there is no obvious drop in speed and price around $50 month then I believe they will take most of market share in just few years.
Speaking for myself, we have a total of six people living in our household playing multiple 4K streams, multiple gamers, video surveillance with off-site backup and lots of personal video and photo uploads of my grandchildren. Basically I've seen mid-size office's use of bandwidth in my home. We have the options of up to 5Gbps ($150), 2.5Gbps ($100), 1Gbps ($70), 500 Mbps ($50) service available from our fiber FiOS internet provider at reasonable prices. My observation is that the bandwidth has been doubling every 2 to 3 years effectively at the same price. If you game, the problem is often the size of the files exceeds 100GB not to be confused with "Gb" (1/8th).
@@MichaelSaves .. Just a little side note, just because you have 2.5Gbps doesn't mean that you're going to be able to download from every website at that speed. In fact now it's kind of rare because many sites have you capped at 100Mbps to 1000Mbps. In fact seeing an actual download at 2500Mbps (312MB/s) is not the normal. Even with Activision, I often see
What are you using for your speed test? Mobile or PC APP? Also, if you don't mind are you hooked up to the mainline when you're running your test or off your WiFi network? Just curious because I'm really trying to hard to best configure my house and totally lost. I have Xfinity 10gig but NEVER come close to that speed. Thank you so much in advance.
@@Mikein203 I’ve used Speedtest.net on PC and mobile, but usually mobile. I am usually connected to WiFi, but I have also done tests using an Ethernet cable. Not a huge difference in speeds.
I have had Comcast internet and TV forever . The price I pay with all the fees and taxes is appx . $195 per month. I called up about just having internet from Comcast ($100 per month) and getting RUclips TV ($75 monthly) ...so if I change .. I'm not really saving any money. I am only at my home 50% of the time as I travel almost every weekend and work outside of my home 4 days a week.
Because Im a low income senior have been able to take advantage of the ACP gov sponsored program for the last 2 yrs which allowed me home internet for $17 . but now the gov is dropping those services but xfinity is still helping those customers. I still have xfinity and a rate of 100 mbts for $29.95 a month which is a great deal for me , and yes I have completely cut cable. Currently not using any streaming services but that is not to say that I wont add a service as needed during the winter for certain sports, that remains to be seen.
I signed up for T-Mobile Home Internet about a year ago. The first 2 weeks were great… then it went to shit & has remained shitty. The excuse is always that T-Mobile is updating their towers. Most recently I was told that when there is a heavy Home Internet VS Cell demand, T-Mobile gives preference to cell coverage which makes Home Internet even slower. I have repeatedly had videos freeze & pages not load. It has been common to have speeds as low as 6.7Mbps. So. I cancelled T-Mobile Home Internet & I would not encourage anyone to purchase T-Mobile Home Internet if you live near Cleveland, Ohio. My T-Mobile cell service is flawless just about anywhere I go. I am an Over The Road Truck Driver.
1 year ago, i was paying att $110 for 1g fiber. I ordered tmobile and when i got the gateway I called att telling them I wanted to cancel. They offered to lower the price down to $60!! For a year. So I stayed. Today im paying $90, last month i paid $80. Appears to be increasing by $10 a month. I will have to call att again. Not sure what will happen.
An antenna does not require internet, so yes. I have one and also have Verizon 5G. There is a very good deal now - I have the details on MichaelSavesDeals.com
Last February I switched to T-Mobile 5G because I was moving and needed something mobile. I did not take the option to include a T-mobile phone service because I already have AT&T for that. Also, I opted out of the automatic payment plan which would have saved me $5/mo. So I'm paying $65/mo.
Thanks for the information bro I just switch from spectrum internet paying 105.94 each month now switching to T mobile home internet even the speed a little bit slower a times it still usable for streaming and I just play games in the morning time when the speed is faster or at night. With t mobile home internet 50 dollars an month is a steal in my book saving 55 dollars an month wow.
Random so, we have AT&T and have been using it since I was in high school. I graduated in 2014 now today AT&T does not work in my home location and AT&T fiber isn’t available at my location either. The only one that works is T mobile home internet. I hope that it pulls through. I will be trying it soon so we will see.
I pay spectrum $84.99 per month. Just went up $5.00. I have contacted both Verizon and T mobile and am told my address is not good for their 5 G . T mobile said I could get their 4G lite but it would cost more and have a data cap to boot? Can't wait to try either. I'm about 25 miles NW of Columbus ,OH out in the country.
Thanks for being truthful about for fiber. Most households do not need the upload speed that fiber provide even those that work from home. One thing you should have mentioned is that most gamers aren't good enough to take advantage of the milliseconds of ping that the fiber provides. Plus a fiber network is more expensive to maintain. That means eventually that cost will be passed on to the consumer. As far as wireless internet goes. Equipment will have to keep up with demand. It matters how far you are away from the node and how many more customers are in between. For all the free advertising you're giving them I hope T- Mobile has one right above your house. 😀
Very useful, its nice to see a neutral review in this sponsored & 3rd party tech party the world is dishing out in such enormous helpings… thanks so much! Nicely done Mr. M>,
I have Verizon FiOS. I pay $59.99 per month for 300/300 internet and my voip landline. I bought my modem/router so no extras there. Question: if I switch to 5g T-Mobile, can I keep my landline?
@@deemen7132 its on a case-by-case basis. The main reason fiber is better is mostly because if you have it, it means its new. New means good. This is by far the best predictor of how good your internet with a provider will be. Many buildings today are still wired with 10-50 year old cables and fittings which are completely rusted inside. These kinds of things will usually cause micro disconnects which you dont notice unless you play demanding video games New apartment buildings will have new fiber and coax (cable internet). In this case, they're pretty much the same quality and wont be affected by weather As an Xfinity tech, I see plenty of FIOS customers switching to Xfinity (cable internet). Mostly due to price At the end of the day, I would too recommend fiber. Not because of the speed, as the speed is the same, but for the stability. However, this doesnt mean you wont have problems while with another provider you might not
I've had T--Mobile home internet service for almost two years now. I wouldn't be using it if I was still working. My download speeds are never over 35 Mbps and I have very frequent, like multiple times a day, drop outs. Sometimes for hours at a time. Then miraculously, sometimes I go for weeks with no problems at all. When it works, it's fantastic, when it don't , it's really frustrating. I guess I'm just at the fringe of the towers effective range, and I don't have the new receiver/router I don't have to tear apart to add a external antenna.
I chose ATT fiber a long time ago it comes with HBO Max Included was grandfathered in with the HBO Max benefit I'm happy with the speed and reliability and hbo
I have had 5G for a year now with T-Mobile, when it works it is great, however, do NOT get it if you have to rely on internet for work, or if you have students in the house who rely on service for school work. In the past week it dropped service several times a day! In the past year I had more calls to their tech support than I have ever had with any other company, they apologize, tell you that their are working in your area and that the service will be resumed in a few hours, or within a couple of days! WTH?
T mobile here consistently get 200+speed down. Varies up, but I don’t upload many files. Plenty good for 2 tvs and 5 other devices. I’m .9 miles from a tower so I get good signal.
I am in a trial 5g internet with Verizon. Average around 45 mbps. Not good but so far I can use every TV (streaming RUclips TV) and connected smart house devices and not seeing any difference. Biggest benefit is I am saving $120 per month with Verizon. Going with Verizon and dropping RCN cable internet. Thanks Michael.
Comcast/Xfinity internet has NEVER been reliable in my service area (a sizeable metropolitan statistical area). Besides just having lagspikes throughout the day, it is pretty common for me to experience full disconnect multiple times a day. This has been the case at multiple addresses over 20 years.
No wireless home internet service available where I am. Residential neighborhood inside a large city. Only AT&T Fiber and Spectrum broadband here. Stepdaughter lives out in the boonies, and recently got T-Mobile 5G wireless. Says it is a huge improvement over their previous satellite internet. No fiber or broadband providers where she is.
I've had a really negative experience with Xfinity Mobile, making it the worst carrier I've ever had. In most areas, there's little to no 5G network coverage, and I couldn't even watch RUclips videos. Whenever I called customer service for help, they would just transfer me to another agent, giving me false hope that my issue would be resolved, only to hang up on me later. I initially thought I was getting a good deal, but I deeply regret my decision now. I came across some negative comments about Xfinity being the worst, but I chose to ignore them and give it a try, and unfortunately, I paid the price for that
Who do you got now? I have Spectrum , I have a bundle price that just went up for about 80 a month, but they are super reliable I can say it has never dropped or lags. I don't want to save a few bucks and get xfinity type service because sometimes we get to work from home and we need reliable internet.
I switched from Spectrum to Verizon and my god the difference is night and day. I got less than 100 download speeds with Spectrum (don’t remember the results since it’s been almost a year now), with Verizon I get almost 150. I have no problems with my Verizon network, but with Spectrum I constantly had to reboot my router and it could only handle two active devices at a time. I have a phone, smart tv streaming box, tablet, computer, Nintendo Switch, all in one printer/scanner/fax machine, smart watch, and smart speakers with no slowdowns.
I just cancelled my ATT Air Hub because altho fast, it keeps disconnecting or it's connecting with no internet. So tired of it. My Uverse ran flawless. Big mistake changing and Fiber isn't in my area. So I'm looking.
I have Comcast Business to piggy back off of my business. Much more expensive sure, but very reliable, static IP address, prioritized service. Unlimited data. Ubiquity hardware. No issues with gaming or streaming. ATT fiber not available at my location.
What has been your experience using Zoom with either t-Mobile or Verizon? I do a log of Zoom teaching and have been using Comcast's 1GB service but it's expensive. I'm a t-Mobile customer
I Zoom quite regularly and both services have worked just fine. Please don't judge by the Zoom interviews posted on my RUclips channel. The quality of those is poor because of a video setting I neglected to turn on (HD video).
So I’m moving into my new house Sunday. The only thing available in my area is Hughesnet which is a huge no, Century link and mediacome. What would be my best option between the two? It’ll just be me in there, I do stream and game so I would have my ps5 hardwired and my laptop, tv and phone connected to the Wi-Fi
you are so right!!!! I will try anything to get out of using xfinity. They treat customers horribly. I am a customer for 25 years after watching your video I am making a change today. thank you!
Hey Michael, I know this is an older post however, can you advise how much or which package to go with for Verizon Internet? They keep trying to sell me the one gigabyte but I don’t believe that I need that.
Wow! Thank you for responding so quickly 😁 I only have 1 gamer in the house and there’s only 3 people total. I think the middle plan, which I think is the 400? Would be sufficient. I’m getting ready to cut the cord with Xfinity!!! Almost $300 month for nothing!
Great info. I am with Spectrum & they just upped my bill. I am SS retiree so prepay because pay date does not gibe with date I get paid. I have been paying $70 each mo on bal due of $69.98 The home internet/wifi cost is $54.99 (w/$10 discount due to expire end of yr) & the home phone svc just went from $14.99 extra to $19.99 extra. So now it's $75 a mo . Thass a lot for a lil ol reeetiree!
@@MichaelSaves Thank u. I read thru it and reviews/ comments. Watched the video. Thanks for answering/ sharing. I do not see how to lasted a whole year on 1 gig per month . Even with hotspots . I can’t do it. Ha. I somewhat tried. Xfinity is spotty here in Michigan. Hope your day is well. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching today's video. Here's the list of 5 things to consider before you switch internet plans:
Pricing: How much does it cost? Is a contract required? Any deals?
Equipment: Is it included or how much will it cost?
Data Caps: Does the plan include unlimited data?
Speed: Am I paying for more speed than I really need?
Installation: Do I need to pay for a technician or can I do it myself?

Question so what company’s do
Offer fiber ? And is really that good for gaming compared to coax cable ?
Spectrum is really bad never get it we get around 21mbps
even though we paid for almost a gig
@@SpeakermanGaming.Give a call over to spectrum because if your router has not been updated every 2 to 3 years your internet will drop. There is no extra cost to change the router. I’m looking at changing though because we pay out $236.69 a month for our internet, cable and mobile plans for two 2️⃣phones and a cellular watch.
The T-Mobile tower is about 200 yards from my house for Home Internet. I get around 350mbps download on average. Best money ever spent so far for internet.
Where u live

I think we gona switch too V BECAUSE T I can't get no service my 5g wifi is Hella slow 😢
Ever a little bit helps thank you
I got max 30 mbps in Austin
I've had all three. I recently got AT&T fiber (300) for $55/month. There is no contract, no other charges and it is consistently fast and reliable. No regrets.
Had it after a couple months they throttle this shit out of your internet tried telling me it was my computers location but i kept that and the router in the same location from the first to the last day having at&t but after like 6-9 months I went from 300 mbps to 5 if I was lucky calling threataning to change isps fixed it for a week
Just got that today, getting it installed this weekend, hopefully all works out and is reliable 👍🏽
Taxes?
As a 45 year ATT customer, They sold me ATT fiber seven years ago they rented me a VOIP modem and only got me 5 up and two down for ATT their sales reps blamed their infrastructure upgrade on why I no longer had an account or phone anymore. Their minions said I was only allowed to call 911! Imagine if I called the cops to report AT&T told me to! Their arrogance is appalling! I am soon to die and I don't need this level of harassment in my last days. I paid my bills and was totally shafted by all ISP's WTF!! All I want to do is watch others vacationn videos!

Cell phone network doesn't give consistent download speeds no matter what that's why I stayed with fiber
wow that is incredible value for fiber. Enjoy this golden period.
omg im literally in the same situation. I have Tmobile rn but its the worst internet ive had in my life. Its at&t good?
@@kevincampos2587 AT&T fiber has been great. No cap and it’s been problem free since I switched over to it 8 months ago!
T-Mobile has really bad coverage in my area plus I had a lot of problems with them so I will never do business with them again.
How did you find out where the t mobile tower was.
Is the plan still working out okay for you?
I appreciate the time you spent to inform your viewers. I have had Xfinity for about 5 years now and just this year my TV/Internet bill has gone up 3 times and it is only Sept. When I call Xfinity, I can never understand the person on the other end (no offense) and I don't want to offend them because they are just doing their job (bring customer service back to the US). I have to constantly threaten to leave in order for them to drop my price a ridiculous $20. HELP!!!!
Xfinity is so bad these days

Switched to T mobile 6 months ago. We are close to the 5g tower. Get about 300mbps. Very happy with the service.
And disk space used to be the final frontier
I added a TP-link wifi6 router to add to at&t. Works wonders.
That's the same with FiOS by Verizon but there is 49.99 with auto pay
Like they'll claim it's included with the cost and doesn't cost you anything extra, but it actually does increase the bill.
which providers doing that? not tryna have my $ taken dat way
I switched over a few months ago to Verizon.
This is why competition is good! It drives the prices down! I left cox cable for T-Mobile home Internet and never went back!
I just switched to Tmobile Gateway and it works most of the time, but lately I have had to do frequent reboots. I'm keeping track of them to see if I might need a new Gateway. It'as amazing that a Gateway on the 2nd floor can reach all the way to my Roku in the basement.
How’s it been for you? I’m paying $130 for 1000mbps with Xfinity and cannot pay for it anymore.
I pay $39.99 per month for Verizon FIOS lowest tier, which is 200 up and down. I switched from Cox when they refused to meet the price for a reasonable speed, and haven't looked back.
I have the same fios internet it's great been with them for 8 yrs now
In our semi-rural area, none of the cellular services are worth a bleep.
AT&T Fiber is excellent! Agree about reliability vs. Cox.
When I told ATT I was dropping them, they couldn’t get the “deals” out of their mouth fast enough. Went to T-mobile got our phones and 5g internet unlimited on both $120/ month

Att wanted to treat it like a new installation. Fiber n/a in my neighborhood. So far T-Mobile wireless fits my needs.
Great -- phone bundling helps out!
T-Mobile 5G is great when it is working, but the frustration of dropped service a few times a day is not worth the hype
Currently we are still hostage by Spectrum.
same, i hate spectrum
More bS from xfinity
8:10 pm central, 280 down 70 up
Thanks!
Thank you!
Yes, we have both, ATT Fiber 1000 GB, No Data Cap and TMobile 5G as a supplement, it works, So far …So Good.
That's some good negotiating
Second of your videos that I watch. Thank you for helping me make an educated decision!
@@littlebanshee Are you saying that you pay around $80/month for unlimited data? Does that include their equipment?
@@nagromnagrom4300I do I pay 65 a month for 400 mbs with their equipment
I had at&t internet service since the DSL days like 20 years ago or so...now i have 1GB Fiber and I never had any major issues and at&t would always work with me on pricing. Currently I'm paying $70 for 1GB speeds and that includes HBO MAX...so its a good deal. I don't really need that much speed but since the 1GB plan included HBO Max I got it.
You're paying for 1Gb speed. 1GB would be much faster (and much more expensive) if they even offered it.
@@jasonjoyce7835 They deliver the speed consistently as do most fiber internet providers. 1 Gbps as in 950 Mbps which is the theoretical max speed.
Hello Michael Saves. I truly liked this video. Gave me lots of info i wanted to learn about. Thanks for all your help.
I've had T-Mobile home internet for 2yrs. My speeds range from 175-320 mbps. I'm in the NYC area no complaints.$50 a month......
In rural areas most are not available. I have T-Mobile and am grateful to even have internet. It is limited to 100gb per month and slow but at least I have it and I can take it on the road. My nest home the number one priority is high speed unlimited internet.
Thank you for all the information, I really appreciate it
One of the happiest days in my life was telling comcast “bye bye”.
I LOVE MY T- MOBILE HOME INTERNET ITS ONLY MYSELF IN HOUSEHOLD I HAVE ONLY A COUPLE DEVICES FOR WHAT I USE IT FOR ITS PERFECT FOR ME
I LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM ABOUT T MOBILE HOME INTERNET 🛜
That was a interesting story
Excellent information! Thanks for the links. Neither Verizon nor T-Mobile is available in my area.
If I had to pay full price for cable I probably would cut the cord.
Understood. I live in Florida and there are a lot of people here in similar situations because cable is part of the HOA fee.
@@SWLinPHX 5 types of people who should not cut the cord: ruclips.net/video/QoZm4rxGqtg/видео.html
Which one do you have? 1Gbps?
@@MichaelSaves .. up until about a month ago I had 1Gbps, but I recently upgraded to 2.5Gbps which (to me) wasn't worth the prior $150/mo cost.
I just called AT&T , they said fiber optic isn't offered in my area. Time to make a change. 👍👍👍👍
I switched to At&t fiber from spectrum. Best thing I've done in a while. Faster cheaper.
Glad you were able to get on the $30 plan after ACP ended.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Bob!
@@MichaelSaves What 😢about me?
Can an indoor antenna be used along side of Verizon 5 home plus's I can get locals channels that RUclips tv doesn't offer?
An antenna does not require internet, so yes. I have one and also have Verizon 5G. There is a very good deal now - I have the details on MichaelSavesDeals.com
If I can play Xbox, watch tv/ RUclips TV, and my daughter plays on her iPad. With decent speed I’ll for sure switch!
Have had verizon 5g home for about a year. Average about 300mb/sec download and about 20/most upload.
I still love my T-Mobile Home Internet. The average speed for me is about 120mbps. Ping time is about 25ms.
Thank you for adding your experience!
Do you game? If you do how is it?
Very useful, its nice to see a neutral review in this sponsored & 3rd party tech party the world is dishing out in such enormous helpings… thanks so much! Nicely done Mr. M>,
I have Verizon FiOS. I pay $59.99 per month for 300/300 internet and my voip landline. I bought my modem/router so no extras there. Question: if I switch to 5g T-Mobile, can I keep my landline?
Dont do it, I just got fiber and wont ever give it up. It's not affected by weather like the 5g/cable internet
These kinds of things will usually cause micro disconnects which you dont notice unless you play demanding video games
New apartment buildings will have new fiber and coax (cable internet). In this case, they're pretty much the same quality and wont be affected by weather
As an Xfinity tech, I see plenty of FIOS customers switching to Xfinity (cable internet). Mostly due to price
At the end of the day, I would too recommend fiber. Not because of the speed, as the speed is the same, but for the stability. However, this doesnt mean you wont have problems while with another provider you might not
Thx for the information I appreciate it more videos please
WTH?
Wanted T-mobile but keeps saying not available in my area!
Thank you for the update!
Very informative and helpful, thank you!
Nice video, thanks for sharing!
Don't forgot about frontier fiber, blazing fast! The have deals going on now with free installation and free equipment.
Nice!
