Methods of valuation of goodwill:
1. arbitary method = mutual understanding
2. Avg profit method
I. Simple avg profit =
sum of profits / no. of yr
II. Weighted average profit=
sum of (weight × profit)/ no of yrs
3. Super profit method
Goodwill = super profit × no.of yrs of purchase
4. Capitalisation of super profit=
Super profit ×100
Normal rate of return
5. Annuity method=
super profit × present value factor
