I see a lot of comments that say NYU is their dream school. It makes my heart explode reading them because that was me and now I've been accepted as a student in the Class of 2022 and I can not believe it. Keep dreaming guys and work hard. You can make it.
NYU student. It sort of is, it's kind of like a soft campus. Most buildings are located in only a couple blocks around WSP. There are some buildings further out, like by Union Square, but for the most part if you see a block around WSP most of the buildings are NYU
If you go to Washington Square Park during a class change, you will see how much NYU has taken over the area. The streets are filled with students. It definitely feels like a campus, but then go a couple blocks and you're right back in NYC. Definitely the best of both worlds.

My second kid just accepted into NYU few days ago on the ED2 with 50K a year of scholarship. After seeing all the comment here, my tears just come out. The passing year, really a bumpy ride for me. I must involve too much. I work so hard, to push him to the limit. I work together with him for the SAT and subject SAT math level 1 and 2. at least more than 30 times of practice test. I know he is a very smart kid, but smart is not enough, you have to have score to put on the table. I immediately pay the $500 to accepted the admission, I smile at him and told him that hopefully when I wake up tomorrow, it is not just a dream. Wish you guys all the best.

Nyu is one of the most expensive schools in the country. Roughly 50k a YEAR. Its OUTRAGEOUS. DO NOT GO THERE. I'm 28, out of college and debt free because I chose a state school, I'm telling you you will regret it. I have too many friends drowning in debt because they chose expensive schools.

Really AMAZING campus. I fell in love with NYU campus and scenery six years ago when I first went there for NYSSMA Chorus tests (one for each year for 3 years) with my middle school chorus group. We were the first group in middle school to be able to obtain silver metals (two of them on top of that). In my senior year, we tried to work hard to get gold metal, but sadly we got bronze metal. But we reckon a gold metal is almost impossible for us to get. Haha. The scenery and the mesh of different cultures evident on the streets gave me countless inspirations. Different departments and fields showed us as if there are many possibilities and choices to choose from. It gave me a sense of comfort, awe, freedom and hope. Ever since then it has been my dream to go there as a student. I hope I would be accepted into nyu in 2017 and study business or art. :)

NYU was DEFINITELY NOT my: "dream school." As a NYC native, literally EVERYONE I went to high school with in Brooklyn went there. SO, I chose a small liberal arts college up in New England instead when I was an undergrad, since that was more the experience I wanted. Oddly, that allowed me to explore living/working on the West Coast, which I don't think would have happened at NYU, because then NYC would have remained my world. Not that there's anything wrong with that, BUT, for me, I was interested in exploring the life possibilities that lay OUTSIDE of the city. Ironically, my long-term college boyfriend (that I met up in Massachusetts when he was visiting a friend who also went to the same college I did during my second year there) was an NYU/Stern student. 🤣 I applied to NYU/Tisch a second time as a grad student, but I wanted multiple other universities (specifically an Ivy League grad school program @ Yale, which was ABSOLUTELY my "dream school") MUCH more. However, I ❤️ Greenwich Village, it's my favorite area of Manhattan, and ALWAYS will be. Post grad-school, I ended up applying to NYU a third time to do post-grad work after Yale at NYU/Steinhardt. I did three years at NYU/Steinhardt, and although I liked it (as a post-grad fellowship student), I didn't regret not choosing NYU initially as either an undergrad nor as a grad student. I think I had a better undergrad experience overall at the small college I attended up in Massachusetts than my friends from high school did who'd gone to NYU/Tisch. They were ALWAYS complaining about it. 🤷 NYU "followed" me throughout my academic journey. I don't know why, but it is what it is. 😆

The highest they've ever paid a student was for nursing. They paid 85,000 dollars a year, I believe. Maybe not a year.

NYU was DEFINITELY NOT my: "dream school." As a NYC native, literally EVERYONE I went to high school with in Brooklyn went there. SO, I chose a small liberal arts college up in New England instead when I was an undergrad, since that was more the experience I wanted.
Oddly, that allowed me to explore living/working on the West Coast, which I don't think would have happened at NYU, because then NYC would have remained my world. Not that there's anything wrong with that, BUT, for me, I was interested in exploring the life possibilities that lay OUTSIDE of the city.
Ironically, my long-term college boyfriend (that I met up in Massachusetts when he was visiting a friend who also went to the same college I did during my second year there) was an NYU/Stern student. 🤣
I applied to NYU/Tisch a second time as a grad student, but I wanted multiple other universities (specifically an Ivy League grad school program @ Yale, which was ABSOLUTELY my "dream school") MUCH more. However, I ❤️ Greenwich Village, it's my favorite area of Manhattan, and ALWAYS will be.
Post grad-school, I ended up applying to NYU a third time to do post-grad work after Yale at NYU/Steinhardt. I did three years at NYU/Steinhardt, and although I liked it (as a post-grad fellowship student), I didn't regret not choosing NYU initially as either an undergrad nor as a grad student.
I think I had a better undergrad experience overall at the small college I attended up in Massachusetts than my friends from high school did who'd gone to NYU/Tisch. They were ALWAYS complaining about it. 🤷
NYU "followed" me throughout my academic journey. I don't know why, but it is what it is. 😆
