I agree Arrakis smells like Carlisle, but I feel it's smoother and less bombastic then the PDM style and that influenced me to buy Arrakis over Carlisle off Fragrance buy. Smoother and more pleasant with the dry spicy finish. I don't know about the cherry cough syrup in the opening. Will revisit it after watching your vid.
You should see the box Arrakis comes in, it's a huge solid gold colored monstrosity that has a LED light inside so it glows when you open it! I laughed out loud when I opened it the first time. I got it at a massive discount BTW😄 To me it's a very dry, almost dusty middle eastern tobacco, not sweet like Herod at all. I have a decant of Carlisle and to my nose they are nothing alike either, most of the Parfums de Marly I've tried are just to sweet and bombastic. I do appreciate the subtly of the dry down of Arrakis, definitely get the medicinal qualities too, in doesn't make the mistake of overdosing the amber-woods trope like so many modern niche scents. It's stays close, warm, and soft even.
on fragrantica it says that this is basically a copy of carlisle by pdm (the only original pdm, the one i like), so i hope you check out carlisle. but it can be too much sometimes, still very nice

Sounds very interesting, I love tar notes too. Not just in Perfume but also in red wine. Have had some gorgeous Barolo's and Lafite's to name a few. Again a seasonal preference. TT is one I haven't ventured into, so thanks for this.
Very interesting review, in terms of the scent profile I'm kind of disappointed as when I first heard the name my brain immediately thought of Dune the book series and I wanted this to be transportive to the fictional planet of Arrakis which is described as smelling of the spice melange sometimes said to smell like cinnamon. I enjoyed your review, but was for sure hoping for more of a cinnamon, tobacco, heavy spicy maybe even incense with some musk. I'd still be intrigued to try this by the name and it does sound interesting in a way. Idk if you've ever read Dune but if not and you are into books I highly suggest it and its following books, I'm currently on number 3 and they are good reads.
Aside from that I've only tried one frag from Tiziana Terenzi being Kirke which I REALLY enjoy and like, I don't think you would as it's a sweet fruity musky smell. Who knows you may like it but based off you always saying you dislike sweet frags it may not be your style but I definitely think its worth trying.

Anna Zworykina also sells an extrait version of Cuir de Russie. Never smelled it but its going to be my next purchase from her. My second favorite perfume from her is My Vanilla which is a very masculine non sweet vanilla. Love that stuff.
Ohhh 🤣 mancera red tobacco.... Yea, not going to get arrakis for sure then. My son got some mancera red tobacco and I sprayed some on my wrist and the next day it was still super present the next morning. Fuck, I couldn't handle it at all. It's interesting at first, but it's like a dark cloying annoyance after hours and hours of that.... Ugh. Yea. I like Toziana Terenzi line, but Nope!!! If there was even a slight comparison to mancera red tobacco, then I'm out! I really wanna try Dionisio though!
Ooh Cough syrup,yum I loved that stuff as a kid ,used to feign coughing to get me some from mom and also bonus day off school lol 😂. I only have Laudano Nero, got it for 120 bucks full presentation so for that price I wanna say ,it is pleasing and wearable out and about, happy to have it in the collection but I feel I won’t be running out to add to the house to be honest,look forward to your vid on this one ,all I will say is you will enjoy the black Afgano vibe, who doesn’t enjoy that haha . Hey Ramsey. Were did you read that her ingredients are not tested on animals? Because that would be strange considering that she is at the same time using real castoreum and musks. I am not saying that using really castoreum or musk is the same as testing ingredients on animals. But it would be ethically questionable to be against testing ingredients on animals but then using materials like castoreum and musk at the same time.
Happy to see Anna Zworykina get some deserved shine. She offers a leather perfumes sampler set from her line, which can be hours of exploration and fun :) Thanks for the video ✌🏼

Hey, don’t knock we Italiano’s! I love most things Italian. Funny thing is that I went to Northern Italy fairly recently this past September and could not find any of these fragrances that come to my phone in the USA. I never knew that Tiziana Terenzi had a fragrance close to cuir de russi z(spellings). I have several of her fragrances except for the very expensive ones.
Ask a Polish person to say tree. It will come out three. So, the whole pronunciation thing goes both ways. I have Ursa and Launda Nero. I do follow Anna on Etsy.
I'll never forget that smell and taste of cough syrup in the 90s. Somewhere between not unpleasant and why do I kinda enjoy this. After that, it's waking up at a friend's house 50 miles away, wondering how I got there and why there are 10 empty bottles of cough syrup around me. Good times. Appreciate the thoughts Ramsey! Ps, I'm not addicted. I can stop at any time. 🤪
Yes... Thier fragrances will "never" go unnoticed, because they are extremely strong extraits. And they last forever and a day.

Try her Laudano Nero. I love it and it one of her older and not as expensive ones.
Also try Marrema which also is an older one but goodie. And then there is Ursa one of the very best.
