Love your videos. If you just made videos with HDR/Hgig settings people would love it. Each new game that comes out a lot of people first thing they search for is HDR settings. Maybe go back and do recently released and big titles (Division 2, Horizon, Far Cry, Cyberpunk, Saints Row, Elden Ring etc). Video on each one and what settings work best! (wish you'd get a ps5 already! I can sell you one. Haha)

I'm just trying Horizon Zero Dawn on PC with HDR and the settings has 2 sliders. Which values you used for HDR brightness and point blank HDR? Also using HLG with DTM off seems too washed out, it's that how the game is supposed to be? I mean washed out compared to HLG off. Thanks for the update and new info!
You have to turn HDR off to use HLG. If you want to try the game HDR lower the HDR white point to 230, everything else defaults and use Dynamic tone mapping ON. For HDR is mandatory to play in a dark room, no matter how good or bad is the HDR
The way I play the game is on SDR with Motion Pro High at 60fps/60hz on Game Optimizer mode. I turn on Module HDR on the service menu to get the brightness.

Thank you brother 👍. I don't really like the HDR in Horizon Zero Dawn because to get the midtones bright enough you need to max out the Brightness in the game which washes out the colors a little bit and cause even more loss of details in the clouds and other highlights
I wish the TV/Console SHOULD DO(please LG) the adequate mode by Automatic ,for example, if the game is better with DTM On or Hgig or if the game is matered in Dolby Vision or Hdr 10 etc etc.. Auto selection not manualy.
Try this please for hdr movies with medium bfi. No black crush very close to high hdr. Perfect motion. picture mode standard hdr, oled light 100, contrast 100. brightness 50, colour (user preference), colour temp w30, dynamic contrast off, dynamic tone mapping on, gamma low (use colour control app for this), black level auto, peak brightness high, de judder 5, de blur 10, oled motion pro medium. any settings ive left out is upto user I'm using lg cx but you owe it to youreselves to at least try these settings if you watch movies, I havent tried gaming on it yet.
in 2023 I hope tv companies add a feature that auto-enable adequate mode of HDR(10 / dolby vision) or DTM On or HGIG instead depending on each individual video game because is very anoying to have to change manually all those settings for Each game.
i'm not sure to understand, autoHDR on windows 11 can be use on SDR content like HLG right ? So if HDR10 is badly implemented like spiderman, you can use autoHDR? And what's the best for example on HZD, autoHDR or trying DTM on ? Also i heard that there is know some calibration sliders on the last update?
Auto HDR on windows 11 is real HDR because windows is converting the color space accurately and setting up HDR metadata for each individual supported game, not all games are supported, HZD isn't supported. I don't like the HZD HDR10 because DTM in this case doesn't save the clipping on the clouds and the midtones become too dark if you try to get clean highlights, I really play the game on SDR 60fps Motion Pro High on Game Optimizer mode

HLG is a cool trick to try over SDR, you get overly saturated colors that look incorrect but the results are wild. I would recommend you to watch this to learn how to get native HDR to work ruclips.net/video/P-eq1jedgIs/видео.html The HLG trick doesn't work on the internal apps of the TV because it's an HDMI signaling override
On God Of War i am liking to use DTM on and Black Level at Limited, feel like i got the best of both worlds in terms of brightness, shadow detail along with vibrant colors.
God of War is trying to output 10000nits, if you force Limited you get even more clipping. I'm going to do a video soon intruding a trick I'm going to call HDR upscale, which is basically doing the opposite: GPU Limited, TV Full, FTDA -17
The usefulness of the HDR WCG viewer app is to figure out what the game is doing and if course you can take a screenshot on your consoles and open them with a windows PC. I'm sure Mac OS has an app that can do the same, I just don't know about it. You can ask me for the settings and I would help you if I know the game
CYBERPUNK has the black level raised, lower screen brightness to 44, fine tune dark areas 3, and use HGIG setting the game sliders: 600max 200 for the Midtones, midpoint 2 and the HDR10 scRGB because of better color saturation due to being 16bits scaled down to 10. I just installed the game to have the latest update to double check the settings for you brother
Open a white clipping pattern like the HDR calibration app or the console system level calibration and see where the logo disappears. Or download the HDR test suite I shared here
HGIG means no tone mapping on the TV, following the EOTF and hard clipping at the maximum peak brightness. I don't know which are the tone mapping options on Sony TVs, I remember from watching so.e videos that they call it gradation prefer and brightness prefer, and they are both doing tone mapping
Everything I said applies for PS5 except Auto HDR from Windows and the other difference is the PS5 has system level calibration which is used in some games for HGIG

HGIG dimming it should help with burn in bc its dims it slightly

Lg 65 c1 can't get the HD to work in the settings won't say HD on pictures settings
You have to enable HDR on Windows or the console, otherwise you are on SDR and the TV won't switch unless you force HLG
